- I saw your edits and comments on the Barney Oldfield article. The article does need some serious expansion and citations. Feel free to edit it relentlessly. Be careful not to use words like "brutal" or "stirring victory" because they don't meet the formal tone of an encyclopedia. I agree that the International Motorsports is not an ideal source because it has the problems that you have indicated. He deserves a better article than what exists right now. - Great, I can't wait to see what you find for the article. I have done reviews for articles at the highest levels, so I am available to review if you want. Welcome to WikiProject American Open Wheel Racing! Royalbroil 00:51, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Image without license
[edit]Unspecified source/license for Image:Nationals Running 24 hours.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Nationals Running 24 hours.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 01:59, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
I'm so frustrated. Your message says go to the image and click "edit" to add a tag to provide copyright status. The problem is that there is NO edit link. If there is anyone out there, please help. Markdill (talk) 02:55, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Ernie_Moross_JPEG.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Ernie_Moross_JPEG.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 08:50, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation
[edit]I noticed your submission in Articles for creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jeff Belskus. Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon.
Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.
Here's an example of how to add references:
He likes tea.<ref> Smith, John. "[http://foonews.com/Article42 Interview with Chzz]", Foo News, 1 April 2010. Retrieved 2011-05-22. </ref>
== References ==
{{reflist}}
That makes the references automatically display as small numbers[1] which will link to the details in the section titled == References == at the end. You can see that example in action here.
Please add references to your submission, which will be reviewed as soon as possible. See also, Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. If you need any help, just put {{helpme}} at the end of this page, followed by a question.

References question
[edit]This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
Thanks for your feedback but I must be missing something. My article on Jeff Belskus includes 4 references specific to his roles serving on the boards of several institutions. What else do I need to do?
Thank you. Markdill (talk) 15:04, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
- If you read the information above correctly, you would notice that your references aren't inline. please reread the tips and transform your references. Please remove also the extensively use of the external links. mabdul 17:29, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. I see what you mean. I have used the reference HTML and numbers are popping up in-line, but it is not generating the references in the references section. What am I doing wrong? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Markdill (talk • contribs)
- Luckily I still had your talkpage on my watchlist. It looks good, so I moved it to mainspace. Royalbroil 02:24, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Markdill! Welcome to Wikipedia.
I'm just dropping you a quick note to let you know about a potential issue. I've noticed on your recent edits (such as this one), you appear to be attempting to add some JavaScripting to the page. I don't know if you are aware you're doing this, but it's not good.
If you are intentionally doing it, please stop.
If you're not intentionally doing this, please take a look at your browser and extensions and disable any you don't recognize and/or you didn't install. I'm more than willing to help with this process if you're uncomfortable with it.

[edit]ArbCom 2017 election voter message
[edit]Hello, Markdill. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
