[edit] Geocaching
Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting game in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook and "treasure," usually toys or trinkets of little value.
Geocaching.com is used by cache owners to list caches including descriptions, hints and puzzles, and for seekers to post about their experience searching for a cache and post photos and stories. There is also a community discussion forum. As of September 2009, Geocaching.com describes over 890,000 geocaches.[2]
[edit] Other projects
Groundspeak has also set up other projects. Waymarking.com for waymarking (sharing and visiting interesting places) and Wherigo.com - a mix between geocaching and an adventure game.
