House and its address[edit]

The house is on the market again, has been refurbished, and it has a new address to hide its location. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/world/us_and_canada/10154402.stm http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2986701/Horror-house-up-for-sale-for-1m.html Rumjal rumjal 20:45, 25 May 2010 (UTC). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rumjal (talkcontribs)

The Amityville Horror (disambiguation)List of Amityville Horror media – This is not properly a disambiguation page, because most of the entries on the list are partial title matches, which should be removed in accordance with the manual of style rules governing disambiguation pages. There is no suggestion that the various sequels are commonly known just as "A Nightmare on Elm Street" without a qualifier. Rather than eliminate them, and make the page less useful to readers interested in seeing a list of installments in the franchise, I propose to move this to a title appropriate to the existing contents of the page, and convert it from a disambiguation page to a list/set index article.--Relisted. --Mdann52talk to me! 13:27, 6 November 2013 (UTC) bd2412 T 13:56, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Are there existing List of Foo media titles, or is this a new convention you're seeking to establish? If the former, I have no objections; if the latter, I don't see the benefit. The proposed title seems an unlikely search term. Not that I expect many people to search for anything with (disambiguation) in the title, but if they've been around Wikipedia long enough, they might. --BDD (talk) 18:24, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: I think there are decent arguments to have both the dab page and a list article (as with various Jane Austen versions, spin-offs, and such). Sometimes people are seeking one particular version of something and simply type in what's easiest, in which case they need the dab page. A List article can be more thorough and precise and add extra information. I lean towards possibly keeping the dab page and also creating and media list article. Note that as a proper disambiguation page, the content of this article will be reduced per WP:MOSDAB to the following:

The Amityville Horror is the 1977 book by American author Jay Anson. The Amityville Horror may also refer to:

  • Not that this is necessarily a bad thing, but a list containing items other than exact title matches would no longer be a disambiguation page. bd2412 T 13:02, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Where we can sensibly convert dabs to set indices or list articles, we should. --BDD (talk) 19:19, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
