Updates to article on Jenny Bryan

[edit]

I saw your blog post and made a few edits to the draft for Jenny Bryan to document her notability in more detail. Now it's at least as substantial as the accepted articles on Donna Brogan and Mine Çetinkaya-Rundel, so it should have a better chance of being accepted into the main namespace. Let's see what the reviewers think! Comtebenoit (talk) 15:17, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Comtebenoit! I don't know enough Wiki-etiquette to know whether I should thank you here or on your talk page, but I do appreciate it. AmeliaMN (talk) 19:51, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No worries! I'm happy to help. Comtebenoit (talk) 00:48, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Do you think it is worth to resubmit the draft now, or do you have other plans? It would be nice to have it in the main namespace before the unconf. Your draft article, Draft:Marie Davidian

[edit]

Hello AmeliaMN. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Marie Davidian".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Marie Davidian}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 11:00, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Taeyoon Choi

[edit]

Hi!

I did indeed delete the page Taeyoon Choi, though that was back in February of 2008, so I doubt that's the page you were thinking of? Please let me know if I can help with anything else. Thanks!

SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 16:29, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for message. It was in fact largely copied; for example, the para The answers to these questions — ... gain new insights into our language and ourselves. is verbatim from the copied site. You will also see that the reasons for deletion included blatant promotion, which is the other reason I chopped the page. It was totally lacking in the independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that he meet the notability guidelines. Most of the text was unsourced, and the only supposed refs were his own website, his own twitter account and his byline on the the NYT, none of which are remotely independent third-party sources.

Editors must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews. Blatant spam included ended up becoming one of the Time's most viewed pages (source: his website!) harnessed the overwhelming response... an extraordinary and beautiful tour through the American vernacular... windows into the history of our nation, our regions, and our language. On page after page, readers will be fascinated and charmed by these stunning maps of how Americans speak as they gain new insights into our language and ourselves. and He has a Twitter account which have [sic] lot of great graphics cover lots of field around the world.

If you are going to get students to edit here, you really need to give some proper guidance rather than just let them loose, and I'm astonished that your review didn't spot the total lack of independent third-party sources, the copied text or the blatant spam. We don't restore copyright violations anyway, but even if you didn't spot that, I can't imagine what you think was worth keeping Jimfbleak - talk to me? 09:20, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jessica Hullman, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Hill. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:01, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

When moving an article to create a disambiguation page you need to be aware of the links that exist to the original page. When I checked just now there are 522 articles linked to the DAB that were previously linked to Adam Pearce, the wrestler. Part of the page moving activity is to redirect the links to the appropriate page. In this case, however, I believe it would be better to create a page named Adam Pearce (disambiguation) and return the wrestler to the Adam Pearce page. Otherwise you have 522 DABs to sort out. --Oronsay (talk) 21:44, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Adam Pearce (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This disambiguation page contains the primary topic and one other topic for the ambiguous title and no other topics can be found within a reasonable time.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:01, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
