If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kernow Positive Support, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. DGG ( talk ) 04:44, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

KPS[edit]

Hi, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. I note that the article has been undeleted and returned to AfC. I've added that page to my watchlist.

  • I've removed an obvious copy of material from the KPS site, which claims copyright ownership. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. I'll check the rest of the text at some stage,
  • I've removed obvious spam, such claims of success.
  • I've asked for references for parts of the text which I think either need sourcing or removing.

Campaigning[edit]

You wrote in an edit summary: "...to emphasise this article campaigns for better understanding and not an advertising or promotional tool". Please understand that Wikipedia is not for campaigning, either: see Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion and Wikipedia is not here to tell the world about your noble cause. JohnCD (talk) 17:24, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies for misunderstanding, I was just pointing out that a number of articles I have checked mentioned the word campaigning in their work and assumed wrongly or rightly that this was acceptable rather than appearing to be promotion or advertising.
Davidtardis (talk) 17:34, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No worries! Wikipedia is so keen to encourage everyone to come and edit that it is reluctant to make new users read any advice at all before they start. Personally, I think half a page about what Wikipedia is not for would save an immense amount of frustration and wasted effort, but as it is new users just have to learn by making mistakes and being (gently, we hope!) pointed in the right direction. As the author of Kernow Positive Support, the article had taken over a year and been through many processes for eventual acceptance, however, I have discovered the article has been deleted. Stating KPS is not a notible charity and not national. I would like to refute this, as KPS is the only charity in the UK that provides Respite and retreat specifically for those affected by HIV in the UK. Although, originally set up to provide local services, IT IS a notable fact that KPS is the only organisation in the UK that provides shortbreaks to all those affected by HIV and therefore should be reestablished as an important article in respect of the specialised support offered to the wider HIV community to prevent further stigma and prejudices that prevail concerning HIV, ignorance and misunderstandingDavidtardis (talk) 00:14, 16 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Naturally, I would like to work with you at Wikipedia to reestablished our article as it has been recognised by a large number of HIV organisations in the uk as an important resource and information about HIV. Also, KPS is well respected organisation nationally for providing limited services for an increasing problem in the UK. Numbers of people living with HIV are increasing exponentially and information availability through mediums such as Wikipedia are important to ensure HIV awareness continues and that important services are maintained. Thank you, and I hope that the article can be returned to the main stream Wikipedia information that is an important resource. As mentioned earlier I am willing to discuss how the article can be improved to conform to your guidelines and policies and to ensure that important information is available on the excellent Wikipedia resource. I have redone article but unsure how to resubmit the article please assistDavidtardis (talk) 01:35, 16 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

David, I've asked the admin who most recently deleted this to consider re-reviewing it. I'll let you know if anything else happens. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:59, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I spent quite a bit of effort copyediting the article, adding sources etc to help get it through WP:AfC. I was as frustrated as David to find it nominated for deletion. It would be better if we could retreive the original article from deletion, as it had a great deal of improvement on the original. Rankersbo (talk) 15:17, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Davidtardis. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Kernow positive support".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 02:02, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
