Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing inappropriate pages, such as Talk:2016 UEC European Track Championships, is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Individual pursuit - Olympic Games[edit]

Hi there,

You seem to be mistaken about the status of individual pursuit in the Olympic Games. Here's proof that it is not an Olympic event at the present time.

Cycling at the Summer Olympics#Track cycling.2C_men
Cycling at the Summer Olympics#Track cycling.2C_women
Both tables show that the individual pursuit was removed from the Olympics after 2008.

Cycling at the 2012 Summer Olympics#Track cycling
Cycling at the 2016 Summer Olympics#Track cycling
In both years, the Olympic events (for both genders) were keirin, omnium, sprint, team sprint and team pursuit. No mention of the individual pursuit in either case.

The 2012 track cycling programme is also shown on the official IOC website. Again, no mention of the individual pursuit in that group (though it is part of Olympic history).

The individual pursuit has of course been held within the omnium (which is not the same as being an Olympic event in its own right) - however, even that is no longer the case. Whether or not it returns to the Olympics (as a separate event) in Tokyo 2020 remains to be seen - until then, it is not an Olympic event.

How not to do things[edit]

  • If you have a question about a process on Wikipedia, there is all sorts of help available to you, for example, the link to the teahouse at the top of this very page. The folks there are very knowledgable and can help you with whatever questions you may have about uploading images. Yelling about it on the talk page is unlikely to result in a positive outcome.
  • If you disagree with another users' edits, calmly explain yourself, as you can see another user has also done right here on your talk page. SCREAMING IN ALL CAPS and calling other users obscene names is also unlikely to result in a positive outcome, in fact it is exactly the sort of thing that you can be blocked for.

Hope that helps. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:31, 23 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Hello, Drakos118. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks[edit]

May 2017[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at 2018–19 UEFA Champions League, you may be blocked from editing. Qed237 (talk) 11:12, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Rising Star (Season 1) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Empty and completely unsourced article with no evidence of passing WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Flag for Grand Prix Of The Americas[edit]

Please stop adding the American Flag alongside the Texan Flag for the Grand Prix Of The Americas. There should be one flag representing each race, not two.

The reason the Texan flag is being used is that we are trying to re-establish the flag system used for countries where there are multiple races:

  • For GP's that include a country name, we use that country's national flag.
  • For GP's that do not include a country name, we use the flag of the state / province/ region / etc. in which the circuit is situated.

So, for the United States Grand Prix, we use the United States Flag of the United States; for the Grand Prix of the Americas, we use the Texas Flag of Texas; and for the Indianapolis Grand Prix, we use the Indiana Flag of Indiana.

It makes it a lot easier to distinguish races held in the same country in the same season from each other.

This system has worked successfully for years for the Spanish races. And after years of it being ignored for other countries, we are now trying to enforce it for them.

So, please respect this.

Nomination of List of Formula One podium finishers for deletion[edit]

Hi Drakos118. FYI, I've nominated List of Formula One podium finishers, which you created, for deletion. You are welcome to contribute to the deletion discussion. Regards. DH85868993 (talk) 20:56, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on List of Formula One podium finishers, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Katerina Sakellaropoulou. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you.
