further work needed

Although I accepted it, it needs some further work.

  1. The article is somewhat over-expansive and needs tightening. I did two of the smaller sections as indications of how to do it. Now do the rest. Try to say everything only once, in shorter sentences, without unnecessary flourishes.
  2. You need to make plain that the ICA paper is an oral history interview, where the subject may say as he pleases. You therefore can use it for the facts of his career, but not for opinions about it. You can use it for general statements about the accounting profession only in the sense of saying they are his opinions. This can get rather awkward to express, so it's better to try to imply the general statements. Look how I handled the centralization of firms.
  3. don't repeat names, neither his nor firm names, more than necessary for clarity.
  4. don't give internal links to obvious things, and in case link them only once. there can be one link for London, but no more, and similarly for any company mentioned that has an article.
  5. The references to the ica paper need page numbers. This is rather tricky to do. See Help:References and page numbers. One way is to repeat the reference each time, A better is to use the "rp" syntax explained there, i.e. show page 65 by adding {{rp|65}} after the closing /> The simplest is to add (p.65) after the />

If you'd like me to take a look when you're done, or need any help, ask me at my talk page, not here. DGG ( talk ) 23:55, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
