A tag has been placed on Whitehall Lane Winery, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. You need to take extra precautions when writing about one of your own business ventures[edit]

Information icon Hello, Katieleo123. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Whitehall Lane Winery, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 21:40, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Whitehall Lane Winery. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 21:41, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Whitehall Lane Winery, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 21:44, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon Your addition to Whitehall Lane Winery has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, or images borrowed from other websites, or printed material without a verifiable license; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:48, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:17, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sandbox[edit]

I note that you are recreating the Whitehall Lane Winery article in your user sandbox. This is a good idea, but remember that you should not be writing a promotional article, and that you may not use copyrighted material, even in your sandbox. You must write an article that is neutral, and based on reliable sources. Before re-introducing your article to the main article space, you should probably have an experienced Wikipedia editor take a look at it for you. This can be done by contacting any of the editors who have already interacted with you here on your talk page, or by going through the articles for creation process. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 22:17, 12 December 2013 (UTC) Thank you Dan for pointing this out and I will definitely have an editor review prior to posting. I'm not trying to create a self-promotion page. Whitehall Lane Winery has a significant amount of factual history along with the many winemakers and people that have been influential in the wine making industry. There are historical stories and information documented, etc. which is the goal of this wiki page/article. Can you tell me how I get the Winehall Lane Winery page back? ~~Katieleo123~~ Katieleo123 (talk) 22:30, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want a copy of the page that was deleted for your own purposes (although I'm not sure why you would need this since it was all copied from somewhere else anyway), you can ask the admin who deleted the page (Ronhjones (talk · contribs)), or any admin listed in Category:Wikipedia administrators willing to provide copies of deleted articles. If you would actually like the article restored, you can ask for a WP:REFUND, but that is unlikely, given the state of the page that was deleted. I recommend you write your sandbox article given the historical stories and documented information you mention, and ask for a review when it's ready. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 22:37, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
NB: It is not possible to restore any article, if the content would be a copyright violation (as this was), until one of the procedures at WP:DCM has been done to release the copyright under CC-BY-SA or less strict.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:53, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
