You Got Me Floating
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"You Got Me Floating" (also written "You've Got Me Floating" or "You Got Me Floatin'") is a song composed by Jimi Hendrix. The Jimi Hendrix Experience recorded it in 1967 and released it on their album Axis: Bold as Love.
Allmusic describes the song as the "purest pop song" in Hendrix's body of work.[1]
The song has also been performed by Hiram Bullock, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Patron Saints, and PM Dawn.
A heavy metal version was performed by Eric Burdon since 1994. It is still part of his recent setlist.
The CBS Orchestra has alluded to this song when introducing the "Will It Float?" segment of The Late Show with David Letterman.
