Your vandalism of John D. Rockefeller

Your edits of John D. Rockefeller have been reverted. Rockefeller's quotes are presented in a better way here http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/John_D._Rockefeller. And some of your edits are Uncited and poorly written, (Everything has a price. on his anti-trust and other allegations) (on why didn't he fear govt. action when he was committing anti-trust crimes). And STOP posting messages to users about articles you are not familiar with. NothingWorthy (talk) 17:01, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You added the entire "Quotes" section to the article, http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=John_D._Rockefeller&diff=234586622&oldid=234586525. You should have first researched if there are "quotes" by John D. Rockefeller in any other Wikimedia project, here Wikiquote come to mind. Then feel free to add a link to it on John D. Rockefeller.
Your next edit, http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=John_D._Rockefeller&diff=234586775&oldid=234586622, Unencyclopedic, Uncited and poorly written, is clearly an act of vandalism.
And, STOP posting messages to users about articles you are not familiar with. NothingWorthy (talk) 17:57, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

tons and tonnes

I know this problem should not exist but some countries can't get round to the simple task of eradicating imperial measures!

In your article "Amrum Lighthouse" I have changed your ton to tonnes. I appreciate you linked to metric ton, so at least I knew it was in fact a metric ton! However I tend to simply write all "metric tons" as "tonnes" so that there is never any confusion when reading. I wonder if you agree this is the best way to do it?

I notice also your user page states you prefer Metric. Do you know if there are any WikiProjects in relation to adding/fixing metric measurements on articles?

(Also, I have stolen userboxes from you!) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Delta-NC (talkcontribs) 02:34, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NATO flag

please do not add the NATO flag to any other page other than NATO itself due to copyright restrictions. Please check the image for yourself to see copyright details. Ijanderson977 (talk) 22:32, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well that differs from this This should be followed up further. Ijanderson977 (talk) 22:40, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry if I cause any inconveniences, i was just following what the image on wikipedia said itself, assuming that this was correct. Apparently we can use the image, as wikipedia is not commercial. I will get this reviewed. Ijanderson977 (talk) 22:45, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ive notified an admin over the images copyright with the NATO website link, so its going to get corrected hopefully. I think its best to wait before we re-add the image, wait till its been reviewed. Thanks Ijanderson977 (talk) 22:54, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is the response i got [1]. I still don't know if we can use it. Ijanderson977 (talk) 14:40, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cat:Freemasonry

The WikiProject has stated such for usability. Most Masons don't do anything notable for the Fraternity itself (or participate at all, sometimes), so putting them in the cat is overcategorization at worst, and not helpful at least. The names in the cat now are notable directly in connection with Freemasonry, as noted in their articles. MSJapan (talk) 22:46, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't do much good; you don't have to go to the cat page to add a cat to a page. What would work is a generic notability policy regarding fraternal groups, because I'm sure Rotary, for one, has the same problem. MSJapan (talk) 22:53, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Einat Haran deletion

Are you serious when you write that her death was incidental and non notable? Her death was documented by World Wide Papers and is still discussed NOW DAYS, 30 years after she was murdered.

I posted an afd for the article. A typical case of WP:MEMORIAL. --Soman (talk) 21:18, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

?

Well if you are an administrator can you please delete this comment right here after you read it. Also I created that "Unnecessary Paragraph" section in the talk page so can you or I please remove it. Plus on the administrator's userpage I decided that I don't want that comment on there anymore. Is there any way that all of this can be deleted? If I wrote all of it, what difference does it make because I want to erase all of it. If you could help out I would appreciate it. --Randomface123 (talk) 23:03, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Template Substitution

Hi again. I didn't think I'd come across you again today.

You're doing a great job as I see it. I am only here to remind you to use subst: to substitute warning templates (you forgot to do that on User talk:69.245.26.221).

..don't worry, I used to always forget before getting used to it. Best wishes, ~ Troy (talk) 23:05, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All I want deleted is that one section in the discussion page. I wrote it, so can I please delete it? --Randomface123 (talk) 23:12, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandal reporting

Hi! Thanks for reporting User:75.37.6.108. However, I haven't blocked this person, as they did not receive sufficient warnings. The idea is to increase the level of warnings each time they vandalise. This is a fundemental of WP:AGF - we assume that they are just being playful initially, and give gentle level 1 or 2 warnings (see WP:MLT for a full list of templated warnings). When they reach level 3, this is the first assumption of bad faith, after which they will get blocked. See WP:VANDAL for the full warning process. Please don't be discouraged though - your vandal fighting help is appreciated! This post is not meant to chastise you, just to make you fully aware of the blocking process. Thanks for your efforts - they are appreciated! StephenBuxton (talk) 11:06, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Monitoring as a service

I'm unsurprised that this article was tagged - I just saved it while having lunch and will extend it shortly. Anyway this is a growing area (half a dozen providers have popped up over the last month or two) and it's fairly critical for cloud computing... given the term is both descriptive and generic it is thus surprising that someone has tried to trademark it - a Wikipedia article ought to slow them down a bit. samj (talk) 13:25, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, that was quick! I took a break to do some railway modelling, came back and thought... Hmmm... did I finish that already?! Thank you!

BTW I'm discussing with the Trains Wikiproject the idea of setting up a German Railways sub-project or task force. Would you be interested in joining that? I'm fairly new to Wikipedia and it would be good to have an expert on the team. I'll understand if you're too busy. --Bermicourt (talk) 17:35, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just wanted to say thanks for reverting the vandalism on my userpage. You rock. --Woland (talk) 17:55, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

L. piperatus

The information has been taken from multiple sources, and it is good encyclopedic style (as well as polite) to cite them. I am by no means an expert, so it is my way of showing the reader that they are not relying on what I say, but on the observations of an expert. Perhaps they could be cut down a little- I will take a look at that now. J Milburn (talk) 17:56, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've cut it down a little- I do see what you mean, I just want to get the balance right between attributing the right statement to the right source (especially as two of them are offline sources) and keeping the paragraph uncluttered. J Milburn (talk) 18:01, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE: User warnings

Hello. Thanks for the message [2] you left on my talk page. Unfortunately I am not sure which issue you are talking about. Sorry, can you be more specific? Thanks, Kralizec! (talk) 17:21, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the clarification. I must have added the {{AIV}} note on the wrong line. Looking at the block log, it appears that I blocked this user during the same minute that you were leaving me a message about it. --Kralizec! (talk) 17:27, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about the mix-up. With all the rapid bot edits to AIV, mistakes like this sometimes happen because of the edit conflicts. Sorry again, Kralizec! (talk) 17:34, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects

They're coming, if you see earlier discussions, the point was raised before; and you, too, can help, so please do. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 19:20, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Correct, by the way, the schwa ("ə") is transcribed either as an "e" or as an "a" - so 2 redirects. I am glad someone is helping out. When these are done, I hope they'll end up looking like the 1200 or so in Armenia that were just completed. :-) Carlossuarez46 (talk) 20:49, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Environ Skin Care

I know I have been through this already, but Environ is a product rather widely used in South Africa and by a few overseas celebrities as well. I want to add the significance of these products in our country and list the countries that they are available in. Maybe include their Product range if I may. Please tell me if I am going about this in a wrong way. AGrobler (talk) 17:42, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Um...

What unconstructive edit did I make? Do not accuse me of vandalism, considering I have continually added quality work to Wikipedia. If you are referring to editing the headline on the pro wrestling talk page because it said "riduculous," I apologize -- but I would think an encyclopedia would have high enough standards to not have such a glaring typo on a discussion page.--ECWAGuru (talk) 13:17, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I know see what you were referring to. Here's the problem...that wasn't my edit! Someone else blanked that section, not me. Why don't you look at what my actual edit was? It addedto the discussion. Therefore, STOP adding accusatory statements on my talk page that are not true. Do some research first, for godsake.--ECWAGuru (talk) 13:20, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I've looked again, and I now see the edit in question. I'm quite sure you will not believe me, but I don't know how that happened. I did not...I repeat...did not intentionally delete the comments on the talk page. My guess is that I intended to highlight something else of my own, and ended up deleting the wrong thing. Therefore, I apologize for the confusion.--ECWAGuru (talk) 13:24, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User:Garethrichards123

The talk page has to remain, since that's where spamming notices and the block notice go; and theoretically, if he wanted to appeal the block, that's where he'd do so. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:37, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

reverting vandilism on my talkpage

redirects

You are partially correct. If you type in the search box, you're 100% correct. If you create a link in an article using the dotted i where only the link with an undotted i exists, you'll get a redlink. Try it. For some reason, more "smarts" are built in the search function than in the linking function. So I try to put make links. I have finished making the redirects for all the Azerbaijan articles I created beginning with a schwa, and those beginning with "E". Thanks again for helping out!
