Aidan Davis

Aidan Davis (born May 13, 1997 in Birmingham, England) is a English child street dancer who is best known for reaching the final of the third series of the talent show Britain's Got Talent.

Career

Britain's Got Talent

Davis auditioned for the third series of the British talent show Britain's Got Talent. In his audition he performed to Flo Rida's Low. He recieved positive comments from all three judges, with Simon Cowell saying " I think you’re better than any dancer on this show, you are super super, super talented". He recieved three yeses from the judges and was put through to the next round.[1] He was dubbed "The new George Sampson". He was chosen as one of the 40 semi-finalists.[2]

He performed for a second time in the semi final on May 29, 2009, dancing to Rock Your Body by Justin Timberlake. Again he recieved a standing ovation from the audience and positive comments from the judges. He recieved the highest amount of votes in the semi final and was automatically placed in the final.[3]

In the final, on May 30, 2009, he again performed to Flo Rida's Low, which was his audition piece. He recieved a standing ovation, but mixed reviews from the judges. Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan loved the performance. Simon Cowell, however, told him his performance was not as good as his performance the previous night. He told him: "To be honest with you it wasn't as good. You had 24 hours and limited time to put it together. But you still have a huge future ahead of you. Davis later said that he was "gutted" at Cowell, but Cowell urged "Don't listen to me - no one else does. There's the public vote".[4][5]

He did not rank the top three acts in the competition. Shortly after the show ended, Davis performed at the Britain's Got Talent - The Live Tour 2009 in June and July 2009 at venues all over the UK along with the other finalists from the show.[6]

Beyond Britain's Got Talent

Davis performed at a Michael Jackson special dance tribute show on August 30, 2009. He was lined up with other dance stars from Britain's Got Talent including George Sampson, Diversity and Signature at the Opera House Theatre in Blackpool Winter Gardens. Acts that also appeared were MD Productions, from the first series of Britain's Got Talent, Flava, Sugar Free and Marcquelle Ward who plays BB from television show Britannia High.[7]

It has been reported that Davis got VIP treatment from the West Midlands Police on September 8, 2009. He was shown around the station by Det Chief Insp Sue Southern before being whisked off to the nearby Road Policing Unit to see the fast response traffic vehicles in action. From there he was whisked over to the Central Motorway Police Group for a ride along the M6 in a police vehicle.[8]

Personal life

Davis currently attends Kings Norton’s St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in Selly Oak.[9] He lives in Birmingham with his mum Mandy Williams and dad Lee Davis.[9]

He has said that if dancing didn’t work out for him, he would love to be a police officer.[8]
