Daggubati Venkatesh (Template:Lang-te)(born on 13 December 1960) is an Indian film actor who stars in Tollywood films. He is the son of veteran Tollywood producer D Rama Naidu. He is fondly called as Victory Venkatesh in Tollywood.

Background

Venkatesh did his schooling In Don Bosco, Egmore, Chennai and graduated with an MBA degree from the Monterey Institute of International Studies, USA. After his return to India, he wanted to pursue production. He became an actor in Telugu films. His father, D. Rama Naidu and his brother D. Suresh Babu runs one of the most prestigious and successful banners in Telugu Cinema, Suresh Productions. He is married to Neeraja and they have four children. A son named Arjun Ramnath, and three daughters, Aashritha, Hayavahini and Bhavana. His Ex brother-in-law is Akkineni Nagarjuna who divorced his sister Lakshmi.

Career

Venkatesh debuted through Kaliyuga Pandavulu in 1986. With just two years of acting under his belt, Venkatesh acted in Swarnakamalam directed by Kasinadhuni Viswanath. Varasudochadu, released in the same year, was another successful hit. After a few flops, he got a break in the form of Bobbili Raja. This movie included a delightful performance by Divya Bharati, with good comedy and melodious music. Bobbili Raja was a musical hit and also entertained all types of audience members because of its good family entertainment quality. In Shathruvu, Venkatesh played an angry young lawyer who takes law into his hands after failing to fight the corruption through the court. Venkatesh has also worked with famed Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma in the film Kshana Kshanam, which was a huge success at the box office, and has since become a cult hit among Telugu audience. Chanti, a remake of Tamil movie Chinna Thambi, was released in 1991. Chanti was definitely a challenging project and it was a box office hit benefitting his career. Anari was the remake of Chanti in Bollywood's Hindi cinema, played by himself. Venkatesh started acting in more family type hero roles and this resulted in a huge number of female fans. Venkatesh has acted in a lot of blockbusters. His recent films, Aadavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule and Tulasi are big hits. This year he teamed up with his friend Kamal Haasan and acted in a movie called Eenadu,which released in 18 September.However the movie got average talk but still it is doing good business all over. His next movie is Namo Venkatesa directed by Sreenu Vytla is going to release next year.

Venki is very intense in his work. He is known to be very down to earth and a spiritual person. He believes in positive thinking and very professional. He is one of the best and well-known comedy hero of the Telugu film industry, and at the same time for many serious roles and action movies like Gharshana, Lakshmi,Tulasi etc. He also achieved 7 Nandhi awards apart from other awards.

Salary and Wealth

Venkatesh charges roughly between 4 to 6 crores per movie. He is considered as one of the most richest actors of tollywood. According to Forbes, his estimated wealth is in upwards of 550 crore Indian Rupees. Venkatesh owens a lavish house near Jubliee Hills, Hyderabad. He also owns several houses in Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai and Los Angeles.

He is close associates with the Ambani Family and often makes an appearence in their faimily events.

The actor is recently told to be investing several crores in real estate business in Dubai.

Philanthophy

Venkatesh donated 10 crores towards the Mother Teresa foundation. He also actively contributes to different charity organizations in the nation.
