Somniosidae is a family of sharks in the order Squaliformes, commonly known as sleeper sharks.[1]

Iceland

In Iceland, the sharks are hunted for food. They let them rot for months to eliminate the poisonous anti-freeze these sharks have to survive in the cold temperatures they live in. They are then safe to eat. [2]
