Power Purchase Agreements

Hi, thanks for letting me know about the edit, I just thought this was of interest in this topic, since I came across this concept here in Australia and it was called differently to what it is marketed as in the US. I would still leave the text in it though, maybe not link it up to the page, but as you see fit.

It's a lot to learn

Brain tumors aren't easy to live with; so please bear with me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tomkwill (talk • contribs) 03:00, 23 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi Materialscientist. I saw your block of User:Tomkwill and I checked out his contributions. It looks like he was a bit confused about the article and the changes/blanking listed the filter log are just him trying to correct his mistakes. I don't think a block was warranted in this case, especially an indefinite one, and I'm wondering if you would reconsider your decision? Ishdarian 05:01, 23 September 2014 (UTC)
Ok, cheers. Materialscientist (talk) 05:06, 23 September 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, and no hard feelings. It was a welcome challenge, getting unblocked. By the way, can you explain your thought process on why I was blocked? Your two cents might be worth a fortune to me some day. -Cheers Tomkwill (talk) 05:51, 23 September 2014 (UTC)Tomkwill
Repeated posting of random ramblings, combined with removals; lack of edit summaries and reasonable attempts to communicate or explain yourself. Plus your edits fell into a rush hour. Materialscientist (talk) 05:57, 23 September 2014 (UTC)
I will respectfully disagree with your assertions of ramblings; and at least I am able to form complete sentences. The only repeated edits to possibly be considered of offense were in regards to a single topic, the 2003 World Series, therefore not random. Those edits were in talk pages. That is a less formal place for editing, correct? To the topic of removals, only two such removals occurred within no more than few minutes of posting, likely only seconds, again in talk pages. To the best of my knowledge, I had only removed the very thing I had posted. As for reasonable attempts to explain myself, I had in all edits, referenced the Steve Bartman incident[1] as found on this site.
You have welcomed questions with your edits on my talk page in section "September 2014." Thanks for the invite. I assume the invitation is still open to edit here, the same invitation which led me to edit here in the first place. I might understand a temporary block until "rush hour" subsides. I spent many hours before "rush hour" had subsided trying to get my arguments together to request unblocking. You may like to glance at the section "Assuming good faith" in my talk page. Have you any explanation as to why I received no reasonable discussion prior to being indefinitely blocked? You might have given me a reminder about edit summaries before now.
Also when I attempted to correct my oversight of not signing my last edit, I had been informed I was indefinitely blocked, citing vandalism. Am I correct in my impression, my first edit in this section was, for some hours, considered vandalism? Tomkwill (talk) 06:47, 23 September 2014 (UTC)Tomkwill

The silence is deafening.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Appealing_a_block

"Wikipedia blocks are usually warnings only, and once over and learned from, unless repeated, they are in the past."

I am trying to learn what has happened. I have let some time pass. Still there is no sufficient, informative explanation as to what occurred. If I might know the true reason for my being indefinitely blocked on grounds of vandalism, it might suffice to place the matter in the past. I have not yet learned. However, I am showing a good faith effort to learn.

If my blocking was an unfortunate error, why then a rambling reply in incoherent language? Analogizing to a page from Wikipedia's guidelines for unblocking requests, a simple apology might suffice. As with unblocking requests, users (including administrators) should admit to their mistakes, show that they understand what was done wrong, and ensure it will not happen again. I cannot find the reference at this moment. If anyone could chime in and point out that page, I would appreciate.

The preceding has been partially marked up cut-pasted from User talk:Materialscientist, the section of the same name. as it had appeared at the time of my last edit September 26, 2014. The section is provided in case of difficulty reading User talk:Materialscientist talk page. Italics added to true, what I returned to do, because I cannot stress enough.

I am still awaiting response. Tomkwill (talk) 07:32, 27 September 2014 (UTC)Tomkwill[reply]

An Edit that you said was not "constructive"

You undid an edit that I placed on the list of Americans beheaded. Please tell me how you define the word "constructive." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Knit1 (talkcontribs) 01:56, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

For starters, instead of petulantly demand definitions of terms you should already know, you could, instead, demonstrate the significance of the person you placed on the list in the first place, thereby putting our concerns of vandalism to rest.--Mr Fink (talk) 02:16, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A brownie for you!

Hey Thanks for letting me know about the guideline for giving sources. I wasn't too sure about how far copying and citing could go. Thanks for letting me know that even though I cited a reference, I still need to put the ideas and sentences in my own words. :-)

Need an admin to review my good faith attempt to correct a mess

A big mess. An editor cut and pasted (losing the edit history) her new article to a new name and redirected the original article. The article was already at AFD and a second AFD was started on the copy. The article was then redirected to yet another name. I undid the redirect of the original article, asked for a speedy of the cut and paste copy, copied the second AFD discussion over the first discussion, and deleted the copied material from the second AFD. Since you are online could I ask you to check that what I have done is acceptable, and tidy up anything that needs an admin? (procedural close on second AFD, delete the cut and pasted copy, delete the redirect). I realize that I lost the edit history of the second AFD, but I preserved all of the time stamps in the copied material.

I don't see any problem with your corrections; the whole issue is not so big to care for minute procedural details. Materialscientist (talk) 07:22, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nazi Editor

You banned me for adding material on a bio that reads like a promotional add. You removed all traces of any balance to the page. Nice job. Hope you're proud of your extreme power. Hope you feel just wonderful in your role as censor of truth. You are everything that is wrong with Wikipedia. Get a good look at yourself, it's not a pretty picture. Read how that guy wrote in the NY Times that his daughter was found standing naked in a puddle of urine- and how the NY Times published a retraction- and how he admits a mental disorder- and how the Boston Globe found he had printed, " Karen Schwartzman, a crisis management consultant the district hired to help with the controversy, called Lichtenstein’s account of his daughter’s experience a “fabrication.” “Bill Lichtenstein strung together lie after lie to paint a picture of abuse that never happened,” Schwartzman said in an e-mail Saturday. "http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2012/09/15/lexington-district-takes-issue-with-nyt-piece/qI17h4js6qWAtD8fih7UuJ/story.html" And you have the NERVE to remove all traces of these facts and let a bio stand with no balance? If you don't like the edits clean them up. What you did was nothing short of vandalism. Get a life. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.48.142.185 (talk) 06:31, 29 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Gilgit dmy dates

I was curious as to why you, on 30 September 2014‎, changed the date on the Template:Use dmy dates in the Gilgit article. The template was added in February 2014 by Quebec99 with this edit. --Bejnar (talk) 05:16, 30 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Before saving my edits I often apply two scripts to brush up formatting: User:Ohconfucius/script/MOSNUM dates.js and User:GregU/dashes.js. The first one also resets the date template. Materialscientist (talk) 05:20, 30 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Does that rather render the date field invalid? or less than useful? Or is the date function in that template totally different from the longevity one that I imagined? --Bejnar (talk) 06:58, 30 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This troll has been targeting the article for going on three months now. I doubt that a month long simi-proteciton is going to do anything. He has already shown that he will wait out the protection period and return to vandalize the article again. Since this is ongoing, I would suggest an indefinite semi-proteciton, or at the very least a 6 month period. —Farix (t | c) 11:54, 30 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I hope you don't mind but I've lenghtened your protection on this back to the date I had set on it earlier. Somehow it got shortened when the page move vandalism happened. I suspect it won't be long enough anyway, there seems to be a concerted, if bizarre, person/group determined to attack this article in a very weird way. GedUK  11:55, 30 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Brown Beilfeld

I see no "nnew section" to click, so here goes.... please stop changing my edits to brown beilfeld page. I have experimented with this effect, the errors reported by wikipedia are correct, you have published a redundant article under a false name. Brown befield effect does not require ion exchange. It only alters electron orbits withing the dielectric mass. Please preform this experiment to prove my point, hang a flat plate capacitor on two strings at top and charge the plate just below max voltage. The results will demonstrate the brown beifeld effect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wimsattj (talkcontribs) 12:16, 30 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted vandalism report

You deleted my vandalism report at [1]

I realize that Wdford and Robert McClenon are long-time experienced WP editors, who you may know well. Nevertheless, blanking a page to circumvent the article deletion policy seems like obvious vandalism under WP:Vandalism#Blanking.2C_illegitimate and WP:Vandalism#Gaming_the_system. The fact that they are experienced editors who are intimately familiar with WP policies makes it all the more problematic.

Beyond this, they've turned an article page into a "disambiguation article" - an odd hybrid of a WP:article and a WP:disambiguation page - except rather than disambiguating, it just lists a bunch of related topic articles.

I ask you to reconsider your action. Fearofreprisal (talk) 07:41, 2 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[Restored] about Momčilo Bajagić and the song "Dzamije lete"

2) with English subtitles - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nq_J2C6Hrz0

Lyrics of the song (and also the quality of this video) made me think
that it is from 1992 year; I could be wrong though.

I think you should first analyse correctly ip 82.6.3.29 edit before just reverting the whole article back to original. This is not a vandalism! M. Balamuralikrishna

You reversed my edit saying that they are not constructive. I am native Telugu speaker and can read, write, and speak fluently and understand several nuances including chandas and poetic forms. Moreover I have heard M. Balamurali Krishna on several occasions in a small group informal living room setting. moreover M. Balamurali Krishna is a native Telugu speaker.

I DISPUTE YOUR REVERSION. PLEASE LET ME KNOW EXTENT OF YOUR TELUGU KNOWLEDGE.

I think a small lesson like explanation is in order for the benefit of those who do not know Telugu or Samskrutam to understand why my transliteration makes sense. I say samskrutam because two words in question mena the same in samskritam as in Telugu and the pronunciations are exactly the same too.

"bedam" itself gives rise to four different ways to write it in Telugu. I am putting the four possibilities below.

1. బెడం 2. బెదం 3. బేడం 4. బేదం

First three are meaningless. Only the fourth word has a meaning according to the rule of va(వ) and ba(బ) replacement equivalence (according to a rule in Hindi grammar which inheritde th erule from Sanskrit grammar) Unfortunately that meaning is not correct in the current context.

"bhedam" also gives rise to four ways of writing the word in Telugu.

1. భెడం 2. భెదం 3. భేడం 4. భేదం

Only the fourth word is correct in context. As far as I know as native Telugu speaker th eother words are meaningless in Telugu.

Of course in Tamiz which has far fewer letters than Telugu, there is no difference in writing or pronouncing between "bedam" and "bhedam" in that the second group cannot be written.

Now let us come to the problem with "bhedam". Since there are four ways to transliterate into Telugu and only one word has a meaning, then one needs to either use the Telugu script or one of the standard transliteration schemes - ITRANS or RTS (Rice Transliteration Scheme). I chose to use the latter to give the correct meaning. By the way "gati" is the correct RTS representation of the correct Telugu word గతి.

It should be గతి భేదం. I am changing it back.

Please put in a dispute if you have any problems.

A reference to a scholarly paper follows which has some information about the strengths and weaknesses of the extant transliteration schemes for Telugu.

http://web2py.iiit.ac.in/publications/default/download/inproceedings.pdf.3edfed69-e5c7-488b-9d50-6430f130ee44.pdf

You may ask why I am nitpicking. The whole of carnatic Music has its origins in sAma vEda (సామ వేద). Samskrit Words need to be pronounced as per the rules of Sanskrit phonetics as laid out in PrAtishAkhya . Otherwise what one is speaking is not samskrutam (సంస్కృతం). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Telugujoshi (talkcontribs) 00:15, 3 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
