Catherine "Cathy" Cruz Gonzaga (born January 16, 1988), better known as Alex Gonzaga after her name changed in 2008, is a Filipina actress, author, comedian and television host. Her nickname, Alex, came from the role of a character she played in ABS-CBN sitcom's Let's Go and Gokada Go!.
Early life
Catherine Cruz Gonzaga was born on January 16, 1988, in Taytay, Rizal to Carlito Gonzaga, the incumbent Vice-Mayor of Taytay, and Crisanta Cruz. Gonzaga started her career on ABS-CBN's sitcom, Let's Go where she played the role of Alex, which also became her nickname. She lasted the role until the series fourth season called Gokada Go!. After her departure from the series, she joined the cast of different shows on the same network, such as Pangarap Na Bituin, Your Song and My Girl.
She transferred to TV5 and became one of the main hosts of the talk show Juicy!, and also received a lead role on Babaeng Hampaslupa where she played the role of the title character. Further roles on the network include BFGF, P.S. I Love You and Enchanted Garden.[2][3]
Gonzaga returned to ABS-CBN and became the media correspondent on The Voice of the Philippines, where she co-hosts along with her sister.[4] She became another addition to the cast of the gag-show Banana Nite.[5] Gonzaga was then cast two roles on the anthology series Maalaala Mo Kaya, where she played the role of Pinky, which was featured in the episode "Walis"; and Gelyn Tulabing, which was featured in the episode "Wedding Booth".[6]
From July to November, she played the lead role in Pure Love, a remake of the 2011 South Korean TV series, 49 Days.[7] This is Gonzaga's first major project since returning to ABS-CBN. She also played a role in the film, The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin which was released in December.
She will be starring in the 2015 TV series, Inday Bote, a TV adaptation of the film of the same name. It is set to premiere in February 2015.[8]

In the May 3, 2014 episode, it was revealed that Gonzaga was actually a celebrity houseguest, the same twist that happened to her sister in an earlier season. However, Big Brother tasked her to avoid revealing that she was a houseguest from the other official housemates.[11]
In Day.49 at the PBB house.Alex exits the house to continue her career being a host at the Voice Kids Philippines..
