COI disclosure / advocacy
Hi there. Thank you for your contributions. I am concerned that you might have a conflict of interest or otherwise engaging in advocacy. While most of your edits have been made to articles about old films, that might just be a primary interest. What is concerning is that a sizeable majority of them appear to be citing Tome of Terror: Horror Films of the Silent Era as a source. Granted you do have a smaller number of edits that do not include that as a reference, I would think an interest in the topic would lead to a much greater diversity in sources being referred to. For example the article 1913 in film has well over half of the citations to that same source, and they appear to all have been added by one account: yours. I do not wish to accuse you of wrongdoing, but I would think it best to declare anything worth mentioning ahead of time. You might also want to familiarize yourself withWikipedia:Conflict of interest in case any of the scenarios described applies to you, and then take the appropriate necessary steps. Thank you. 2601:840:8402:690:BDBC:DD69:74DD:1FCF (talk) 01:03, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

No, I have no conflict of interest regarding any of the sources I use. I am not affiliated with the people who wrote "Tome of Terror", nor the Horror in Silent Films" book, nor the Silentera.com website. I'm just a fan of the old horror films. I use all three of those sources and many others when I can find them, such as Lonchaney.org, etc. But it's very difficult to find sources on silent films, you must admit, there aren't really that many available to researchers, as there are on films that were made after 1930.EuroHorrorGuy (talk) 19:23, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

You should look into the work of life-long silent horror historians like Gary D. Rhodes and John T. Soister, whose work is well regarded in the field. You can also find discussions online about the many errors in the Workman/Howarth book, several of which are being perpetuated with your edits, but will take a massive undertaking to correct.Geniuswaitress (talk) 14:08, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

If a reference source is incorrect, just correct it if you're sure it's incorrect and list your source. What is the problem? Give me an example of an error that Howarth's book has "perpetrated". I have a bunch of Gary Rhodes' books as well, but they all seem to deal with Bela Lugosi. I also use the Roy Kinnard book Horror in Silent Films, Silentera.com and Lon Chaney.org and lots of other sources. I cross-check Howarth's data with other sources all the time, and I almost never find even the slightest contradiction. But sources on silent films are difficult to find. If you see an error on any of the listings, just correct it. And no, I don't live in Pennsylvania and I have never even communicated with Troy Howarth in any way. I just think his research books are very well done and really interesting!EuroHorrorGuy (talk) 21:03, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

It is very strange that one of the guys Troy Howarth who co-wrote Tomes of Terror a book that seems to be all over classic film wikipedia now is also a so-called specialist in eurohorror. What a bizarre coincidence that a guy who loves eurohorror so much he uses that name to edit things on wiki, would also be citing so much of Tomes of Terror. This smells of it being actually Troy Howarth, whose references are quite often wrong because he didn't even watch most of those films. There are errors all over these pages now. And if it were Troy Howarth that would be the most pathetic thing in the entire world. To spend hours and hours writing your own name all over wiki. Check his IP. If he's in Pennsylvania then that is where Troy lives. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xxxtroyisaspammer (talk • contribs) 04:06, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

If EuroHorrorGuy isn't Troy Howarth of Tome of Terror, then I have a bridge to sell you in Spokane. EuroHorrorGuy is spending hours and hours, adding citations to Wikipedia, all going to Howarth's book, and yet he claims to have no affiliation with him at all? How fortunate Howarth must be to have such forthcoming fans that have nothing else to do all day but spam Wikipedia on his behalf! Wow! Hello, thanks for contributing to articles. Please note you require to source where you information you are adding is coming from. This includes your citations for genre, release, and more. I would read Wikipedia:Citing sources and WP:RS/IMDb as you have used some databases we do not allow on Wikipedia (FilmAffinity for example). Also, if you are citing website, be sure to include the URL/address of the website you are adding. Read over template:cite web to see what you can include for basic full citations there. Trilby (disambiguation)

Please note that disambiguation pages like Trilby (disambiguation) are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

 • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
 • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
 • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
 • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
 • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
 • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory
 • Do not add articles to acronym or initials disambiguation pages unless the person or entity is widely known by that name (in which case it should be stated in the linked article).

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at The Mysterious Dr. Fu Manchu, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. . Your edit specifically is here where you changed the running time. Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:10, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I added the reference to the running time info. I was told not to put citations in an infobox, that it just cluttered it up. But I will do it from now on. Thanks againEuroHorrorGuy (talk) 21:47, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

1910 in film

Hi. Do the dates in your book you are using as a citation specifically stating that was the year then film was released? Or do they just say the film followed by the year? I'd like some clarification. Andrzejbanas (talk) 08:52, 7 August 2020 (UTC) Yes, it says the films are listed alphabetically "within each release year".EuroHorrorGuy (talk) 19:31, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 1911 in film, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page George Nichols.
