Thanks for your suppprt, I have left a message for Jimfbleak. I have no clue how on earth this new draft could be a copyvio since I did not copy any text. Also I think the article gave a nice compilation of information about the subject that cannot currently be found anywhere else on the internet. Anyway, I will wait for a response from Jim because I think this is a misunderstanding. I still do not understand why you rejected it on the basis of missing independent resources though as I had included several. But that is fixable as there are plenty available.

My very first article Gig Performer

Hi CommanderWaterford,

I'm an IT specialist and a guitarist, and would like to contribute on pages in these respective fields. When I wrote about Gig Performer, I researched similar topics, such as: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_Rig https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MainStage_(software) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_Visualiser etc. etc.

I wanted to maintain this simple and informative style: quick overview, basic features, info box, and references from magazines, independent authors and their documentation. This topic is surely notable, because software is used for live gigging among many musicians, i.e. Chris Broderick from In Flames. For some magazines I don't have live preview (they must be purchased, no preview). https://www.musictech.net/news/magazine/musictech-207-how-to-set-up-your-studio-for-online-collaboration/

I don't see any problems with my topic, because I used existing pages as a guideline to form a simple article, and everybody can contribute in future.

Best regards, --Npudar (talk) 08:59, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Npudar, well I had a short look on your draft and as you can read from the Reviewers Spicy comment it is by far too advertising. Have a close look at Wikipedia:Neutral point of view - Wikipedia - if you need any further help it would be more easy to ask in the Teahouse, I will sent you an invitation. 2HDN CE

Yo! Thanks for the CE at 2 Hours Doing Nothing. However the CE seemed odd: the prose now becomes weird, and some things have been removed, such as the icon of the game. Can you explain the changes? The reference for "it has been downloaded 100,000 times" seems to have been removed too. GeraldWL 14:58, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sure although I do not see nothing weird at all - the icon for the game is completely unrelated to the subject of the article itself, so it had been removed. The section of the video game seems to be more like being promo for it. The video game would (perhaps) need to have an own article but is has almost nothing to do with the article subject itself. Indeed one sentence only like e.g. "there has been a video game of the name xyz imitating the video) would have been sufficient cover. I would suggest discussing this rather on the discussion page of the article. Hope I could clarify things for you. CommanderWaterford (talk) 15:09, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CommanderWaterford, thanks for the clarification, it absolutely makes sense. However could you address the removal of the reference on "As of August 2020, it has been downloaded over 10,000 times"? GeraldWL 15:23, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Gerald Waldo Luis, sure, done. CommanderWaterford (talk) 15:30, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Serving His Children

Hi, as you know you recently tagged Serving His Children with multiple issues. The first regarding notability and the breadth of sources I believe I have fixed. The second on viewpoints remain, as I wish to get your input. I've added relevant comments on the talk page for you to interact with. DMT biscuit (talk) 16:16, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

hi commander water ford why my page has been criteria for speedy deletion ?--Omarsultann (talk) 21:26, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Omarsultann, it is explained in the deletion notification. All sources given at the article were written by the subject of the article itself. In the current state I do not see why its subject - a mechanical engineer - is important or significant, a quick google search also only gave me self-published articles of him. A7s on old articles

Hi. I've seen you putting A7 tags on a number of articles that have been around for a long time such as Max Longin. The problem is, I have to go through every revision of the article (remember that a CSD only applies if there is no possible revision to revert to - this stops somebody blanking an article they don't like and then putting {{db-a1}} on it) and it's quite a time consuming task, and in a number of cases I've decided it's easier to put a PROD tag instead. Can I recommend you do this as well; if the article is abandoned and nobody cares about it, I can't imagine a PROD being controversial in the slightest. Plus it's easier for admins to delete as an expired PRODs can just be deleted without having to think about them. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:30, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ritchie333, I totally understand and see your point, I will give it a try with PROD although my experiences the last couple of days are making me feel that PROD is going to be easily removed and the articles will remain in almost the same state as before. CommanderWaterford (talk) 14:36, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your talk page

I note that you have a habit of very quickly archiving discussions on your talk page that you don't like, rather than replying to them (such as this), but leave discussions that you like around, such as those that are visible here. You can (within reason) do what you want with your own talk page, but please be aware that such selective archiving only invites further scrutiny of your edits, rather than avoiding it. Phil Bridger (talk) 19:11, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Phil Bridger, I saw no question and I archived it after 12 or so hours but I am glad that you demonstrate such interest for my talk Page. CommanderWaterford (talk) 19:15, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The question preceded the question mark, as usual. Please stop characterising non-vandalistic edits as vandalism, or I will ask for you to be blocked for doing so. Phil Bridger (talk) 19:29, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Placing A7s

Hi CommnaderWaterford. Please do not place A7 on an article 1 minute after creation as you did here. General practice is to wait at least 15 minutes (but an hour or two can't hurt). Such a quick placement of a tag may be considered WP:BITEY. Please let me know if you have any questions, by pinging me here or leaving a message on my talk page. Barkeep49 (talk) 20:17, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Barkeep49, I saw several sysops and other experienced editors e.g. the last days doing the same but I will sure take it in the future into account. CommanderWaterford (talk) 20:21, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I am happy to have this same word with anyone, even sysops. Feel free to give me a diff or two here or via email. Again thanks for taking this into account going forward. Best,

Thanks!

PRODs for places

I notice that you recently PRODded several articles on places (settlements and geographical features) on the grounds that there were no refs. Could you take a bit more time over your WP:BEFORE checks, including checking the available interWiki links, which for almost all those articles produced entirely adequate references. Perhaps take it a bit more slowly? Ingratis (talk) 04:05, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ingratis, yes that was a mistake I made a week ago or so which another editor pinged me, too, I saw you now added sources to all of those articles, thanks for that but will check my PRODS of this day again today. If I am PRODing nowadays I searched for sources w/o success. CommanderWaterford (talk) 08:33, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
OK, great - thanks.Ingratis (talk) 18:01, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your edits to Draft:The 1220 to 1224 Camas, WA Mayor.

Tagged with G3 as vandalism. Aasim (talk) 06:12, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

On a different note, with regards to Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard - Wikipedia it would be more helpful if you explained your positioning. I think Voice of America is an appropriate source because even though it is funded by Congress, it still largely relies on independent reports from CNN and NPR (see NewsGuard Nutrition Label (newsguardtech.com)). That is just my two cents. It seems as if this editor you are dealing with is a new editor, not a problem troublemaker, so explaining will take some time. :) Aasim (talk) 06:24, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome Aasim, honestly I was not aware of any further discussion on VOA, I will have a look later on. PS: Tthis editor btw is not new IMHO, their seem to be an experienced editor on the Myanmar version and know exactly where and from whom to look for help here, how to tag etc etc. but I will sure check later on. Helping me with an article on an Indian Model/ TV Personality

Recent PROD

Hello CommanderWaterford, thank you for rescuing the article that I'd tagged recently under BLPROD. Apologies for the quick tag, I should have probably waited for a longer time. I've just started reviewing articles (not as a patroller) but just like how I review drafts at AfC, and have made a few wrong tags here and there. I'd appreciate any advice that you'd like to give me for future article tags. Thanks, --Ashleyyoursmile! 13:03, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bands include people

Because bands include people they have been considered BLPs. Why are you removing the project from band articles? Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:46, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Walter Görlitz, Because the template says "a living persoN" and not "persoNS" and because there are running DB reports on this issue. Groups of Persons cannot have a biography as far as I learned it in University. But I found now WP:BLPGROUP although I must admit this still does not clarify.CommanderWaterford (talk) 17:52, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting. I had not seen running db reports on the issue that bands and groups of people were tagged as part of the BLP project. I'd be interested to see those.
The issue is that BLPs have more rules governing certain statements and so band members need that protection. Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:55, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And to be fair, I was initially opposed to the idea of adding them, but I have changed my opinion. Others have not. Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:56, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Walter Görlitz, IMHO this makes no sense but still I have not found any essay/policy saying this. Anyway for any editor this would be very difficult to understand, I have no problem stopping this immediately (and I did in good faith) but there need some kind of clarification. Report: See here, one example Wikipedia:Database reports/Potential biographies of living people (1), lots of groups and bands listed. CommanderWaterford (talk) 18:01, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
How does bands include people and as people, they need BLP protection not make sense? If you check the history of the band articles you're changing, you should see when they were added to the BLP project and who added them. Follow-up on that level. You might also want to discuss with the musicians project. Walter Görlitz (talk) 02:32, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Elizabeth Mincoff-Marriage

Hi, I noticed you put the page Elizabeth Minncoff-Marriage back into draft (fair enough as it was basically a blank page!) However, I thought I'd followed the steps from Wikipedia:Translation to request a translation from its current page in German to an English version. Ie: create the page, add

in the article and submitting it. What had I done wrong? Any guidance greatly appreciated :) Richjones91 (talk) 17:38, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Richjones91, it was a blank page (which is not an article by definition) only with the tag. If you would request a translation from the german version you would need to start the article, at least creating a so called stub WP:STUB OR you can request a translation from the Wikipedia:Requested articles (see also here: WP:TRANSLATETOHERE ). Hope that helps. CommanderWaterford (talk) 17:44, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Richjones91 (talk) 17:46, 14 February 2021 (UTC) Sorry, just to double check. If I was to add some basic information into that draft page, enough to class it as a stub, and then add that tag? Richjones91 (talk) 17:52, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I know that but nobody left him a welcome message at the top of his talk page. Sorry about that though. KirkburnFandom (talk) 10:25, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
KirkburnFandom, oh there had been some a long time ago but contents of a talk page can (and should) be archived, see WP:ARCHIVE, anyway I appreciate it. Thanks. CommanderWaterford (talk) 10:47, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome. Thanks. Sorry about that. KirkburnFandom (talk) 10:49, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Im not using vandalism, even used sources for both articles

why u trying to stop my work?

Hi @Dantasu:, I am not stopping your work at all nor did I marked it as vandalism, you are simply creating BLP articles without providing inline citations and are marking them in your first version directly by yourself as being "unsourced and needs sources" - I put them into Draft so you can work on your drafts calmly. Please have a look at Help:Referencing for beginners and WP:MINREF, a biography needs inline citations. CommanderWaterford (talk) 23:21, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

jacques & sadiki

which kind of citation u mean ? i used sources like transfermarkt and ogol, isnt them enough?

is not the enough?

Space industry in India

Can you move Space industry in India back to the main space? It easily meets the criteria of WP:DYK now, since it has more than 1,600 characters. Raymond3023 (talk) 04:24, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Raymond3023, you can easily can get it reviewed again by yourself, you just need to push the Resubmit Button in your article. CommanderWaterford (talk) 07:03, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but I inform you that Rakhmat was a member of national parliament that I surely believe pass WP:NPOL. Thank you. --Tensa Februari (talk) 07:57, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Musicians

Hi Commander! Regarding your recent edits to Talk:Said Senhaji and Talk:Phil Jones (musician), {{WikiProject Musicians}} is a redirect to {{WikiProject Biography}}, so you've effectively added {{WikiProject Biography}} twice to these talk pages. Both of these talk pages have now been fixed. Could you please only add {{WikiProject Biography}} with the proper parameters in the future? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 18:22, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Adding {{WikiProject Musicians}} adds the page to Category:Biography articles without living parameter, which is what drew me to the pages. GoingBatty (talk) 18:23, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
GoingBatty, I see, did not know that, I apologise. It was showed to me as a template wrapper. Will not happen again. CommanderWaterford (talk) 18:27, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
My use of the word "redirect" wasn't correct - you're correct that it's a wrapper. However, Template:WikiProject Musicians states that the template should always be substituted. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 19:05, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

FAC: Love for Sale

Hi. Found your name on my watchlist and wanted to ask if you can comment on or review my FAC, Love for Sale (Bilal album). It has been stale for a few weeks, and there are ambiguous or reluctant takes on the sourcing in the article that could use further discussion. The criteria for featured articles is WP:FA?, if you choose to do so. Thanks. All the best. isento (talk) 11:33, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Moving preliminary page to the mainspace

Hey CommanderWaterford. I was wondering why you re-directed a page from my sandbox to the mainspace. As you could probably tell, it was quite literally in its preliminary stages, and was not even close to ready for others to tag, categorize, read, etc. The page was User/Murphanian777/Preliminary football at Notre Dame. I'm sure there was a good reason, but I was hoping you could explain your reasoning. You have my best, Murphanian777 (talk) 15:36, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Murphanian777, you accidentally published your sandbox as a mainspace article, I moved it into the mainspace assuming you wanted to have it there, let me know if I should move it back to Draftspace. CommanderWaterford (talk) 15:40, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ah okay, how strange. Thank you then, and yes, I would prefer it back in draftspace at this time. 15:47, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

article removed? I don't understand

Hello, I am trying to add a page about the DiSSCo research infrastructure, first it was on the list for deletion because of a "copyright infringment", ok so I completely rewrote it, in a style not in any way promoting, in my own words, with a lot of independent resources etc and it is still deleted?? I put a lot of effort in in getting all the resources. I was fan of Wikipedia but am getting very disappointing now. Can you please undelete so I can discuss in the forum how the article can be further improved if further improvements are needed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waddink (talkcontribs) 20:04, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Waddink, your article was deleted by @Jimfbleak: because of a Copyright Infringement reported by @Sphilbrick:, you will need to ask them, also have a look at WP:COPY. CommanderWaterford (talk) 20:14, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The copyright infringement report was for the 15 Feb version, deleted also Feb 15, after which I wrote an entire new version of the article Feb 16 (no new copyright infringement reported) but that was deleted Feb 17. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waddink (talkcontribs) 20:19, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Waddink, your draft has been rejected by me 15 feb at 09.47am, the Copyvio was reported on your second draft at 3pm and today it was deleted by Jimfbleak and I am more than confident that there was a good reason for doing so but you will have to ask them. CommanderWaterford (talk) 20:23, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
