Uday Phadke Further further comment

Dear Nomadicghumakkad

Thanks for your offer to provide pointers.

I know Uday Phadke because I worked with him briefly in 2002-4 helping to raise funds and give guidance to startups in Cambridge. I was a non exec at a Cambridge based VC fund. Through my teaching of entrepreneurship at Oxford business school, I have become aware of the work he recently did on the Triple Chasm Model, and I believe this has significant merit. Uday Phadke Further Comment

Dear Nomadicghumakkad

I'm afraid your reply does not help me.... Can you point out specifically which particular sentences in the draft require references, and what type. Without this guidance I do not see how I can address your reservations, and resubmit.

Overall I'm pretty fed up. I've now spent several days trying to put up a pretty bland, unambiguous article about someone helping new businesses get started with new tools and concepts. It's my first attempt at getting an article up, and I'm on the point of giving up. You'd think this was the kind of article that the founders of Wikipedia would welcome with open arms...

Hi Jeter1956, I will try to fix some portions soon so that you can understand the issues. Also, what's your connection with Uday? Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 17:36, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Uday Phadke draft further comment

Dear Nomadicghumakkad I'm really struggling here....

In the past week or so, I happen to have looked at the entries for Jeremy Asher, Larry Tanz, Richie Barker (1975 footballer), Christian Purslow among others, and whatever criticisms about objectivity, neutrality, primacy you make about the Phadke article can be made much more strongly about these accepted entries, which make no general intellectual contribution to the reader (unlike Phadke's new model for corporate innovation). Are different criteria being applied to some articles and not others, as currently things don't seem to stack up? Jeter1956 (talk) 16:01, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Jeter1956, good to hear back from you. I hear you an I empathise with you. It can truly be a struggle to understand guidelines. Let me try to address your concerns:

  • Firstly, we should never use an argument that if any XYZ page exists, this other page should also exist. We have a policy called WP:OTHER which will help you understand this.
  • Jeremy Asher doesn't seem to be a very properly sourced article either and can be challenged anytime.
  • Larry Tanz seems to have better sources.
  • Richie Barker - if he is a sportsperson, he might additional criterias at WP:SPORTS.
  • Yes, some professions may have additional criterias, for example WP:Academic where it might not be necessary to pass WP:GNG or WP:BASIC

Now, firstsly you should not compare because WP:OTHER and even if you would compare people in the same profession, like first two, you need to evaluate on the basis of sources and the guidelines written at WP:GNG. The fact that he made a corporate innovation or the article is intellectualy useful for a reader are not valid arguements. The guidelines are dependent on sources. Let me know if you need more help. You can also ask more help at WP:TEA. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 18:17, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Bryan Gossage

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, you wrote "Same comment as last reviewer", ~but~ in between the comment from that reviewer and your review, three new references were added with significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources:

1. Eagle, Paul Lara, Belvoir. "Army leader talks housing mayor program". Belvoir Eagle.
2. jonathan.stinson@theredstonerocket.com, JONATHAN STINSON Assistant editor. "Leader from Pentagon impressed by Redstone visit". The Redstone Rocket.
3. MPAD, Sgt Dommnique Washington, 7th. "Army leaders visit with Soldiers in Romania". Fort Hood Sentinel.

Most of the initial references (especially #'s 10-16) only included him as a passing mention and so the article did need better references, but that should have been accomplished with the new references so the rejection for the exact same reason might justify a revisit? Thank you. Web update (talk) 01:54, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Web update , I am ok to revisit. we can all make mistakes. [1], this one has a quote from him and talks about his visit but doesn't discusses his own work. The key is to first look outside the double quotes and then see how much of content is directly talking about the subject and discussing the subject. this one might not even help for WP:BASIC. [2] - very much same like previous source. [3] The first paragraph of this is helpful. But the rest is just what he said or some meetings he would be doing. Hope it's helpful. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 15:52, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, I chose to write this entry because the individual is a senior US Army leader. The hurdle I was working to overcome from the last reviewer was "Fails WP:NPOLITICIAN - non-notable government official holding a non-notable position." Last reviewer and I talked and I reviewed Wikipedia policies on References and absolutely agreed the ones I used didn't support the entry. I did more research and found those three additional articles, all of which refer to him as an Army Leader or senior Army Leader. Once I'd made those edits, the article moved forward. So I would ask for a revisit since I think that initial concern has been addressed. Thank you. Web update (talk) 20:07, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Web update , if they don't meet WP:NPOL, they need to meet WP:GNG or WP:BASIC. Even with these three new references, that's not happening. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 03:33, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Ananth Prabhu Gurpur

Can you tell me what all is promotional here? I have removed everything that is promotional. Also…about coverage…there is more on his website also. A lot of newspaper write on him. See https://www.ananthprabhu.com/media. Plez help me.

Hey, I think there is a lot of information in Early Life that is unsourced. There is definitely more. Also avoid things like 'launched by' XYZ person since that doesn't help with notability. Remove all information that is not about him. I notice that the website has a lot of print coverage. Cumulatively, this might suffice for WP:BASIC. But this REFBOMB needs to be sorted. So please remove any source that is either a repeat of an existing source or only has trivial or passing mentions of him. I encourage you to read WP:VER. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 11:48, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello...i remove almost everything like you said. plez check now.

Hello, I reworked on the whole thing. Deleted a lot of material. For some reason you had removed previous declines and scripts. I have added the AFC script again through. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 16:37, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Hridith Sudev

Hello Nomadicghumakkad! I grew up in Oman and I remember reading about and hearing about Hridith Sudev on national news. I was a bit confused that you found the page full of lies. Earlier versions of the article did suggest puffery. The article as it is now, seems true to me based on what I saw on news, growing up. His activism was a pretty prominent deal in Oman and was covered extensively in national media. It is hard to find sources for all of that since a lot of Omani news media is still not digitized especially older articles. But lLooking through the page, the uncited claims listed in your analysis have now either been removed or properly cited. Following subsequent investigation, the news media sources listed in the analysis as "self-serving local pseudo interviews" also appear to be prominent, well-circulated and notably vetted publishers with large readership/viewership in their respective target regions- primarily, Madhyamam, Times of Oman and Rocky Mountain PBS. I see no proof as to the cited claims being lies. I am a fairly new Wikipedia editor and only stumbled upon the page today and was surprised to see that it was marked for deletion. Would appreciate some explanation of how this process works.

Hey, that's not my comment there. Some random IP has misused my signature. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 17:03, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Syed Husin Ali

Hello Nomadicghumakkad, I am a bit puzzled by the rejection of the Syed Husin Ali page based on lack of adequate sources when a number of points have been cited including that of Malaysia's two largest news websites Malaysiakini and The Star Online as well as the biography of one of his books (I have attached the ISBN).

Since he is in his 80s most of his career is in the past during the pre-internet era which is why there aren't more recent web resources that could be cited. However he is still an important figure as a political detainee, professor at Malaysia's top university and two term Senator.

Would appreciate some suggestions as to how to get this inclusion approved.

Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Malaysian leftist (talkcontribs) 16:37, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Malaysian leftist, my key reason to reject is that all the information that you have provided is not sourced completely. Please read WP:VERIFY. Further, non-elected politicians are not presumed notable as per WP:NPOL. I just checked you said he was a two times Senator? Is it an elected position? Can you tell me where I can read more about Malaysian senators? If that doesn't work, he must qualify WP:GNG or WP:BASIC. The current sources you have provided are not sufficient. I hear you about him being from pre-internet era. I suggest you try to find some archived newspapers or try Google Books [books.google.com]. For such people, there are usually books existing that can have information about them and as long as it's not written by them, it can be considered a secondary source. Also, since you said he was a profesor, you might also want to look at WP:Academic and see if he would fit any of the criterias. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 07:01, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nomadicghumakkad, Thanks for the explanation. Will look through this.

I just saw the opinion you expressed to delete the Wikipedia page... I feel a little pity for people like you... When you express an opinion about a journalist who has worked in three national newspapers... I personally think that this page should be deleted and I should make the news in the national newspaper using the opinion you have expressed...

Hey PA12194! I am not denying that he is a journalist or that he has written for various papers. But doing that alone doesn't qualify him for notability to have a page of his own. I encourage you to read WP:GNG for more clarity. I know it is not absolutely easy to get at first go; but the only way to really understand is to read the guidelines. Let me know if you have more questions.

Preetha Krishna

Hello Nomadicghumakkad. You added a tag to the article about Preetha Krishna saying that the article does not show notability. The article has 26 references. The references about her come from biographyonline, indiatoday, The Times of India, huffingtonpost, hollywoodreporter, growtix, eawfpress, openthemagazine, gq-magazine, thehindu, wlconglomarate, conciouscapitalism, business-standard, decanherald, businessdailyafrica, cnn, businesstimes, kenyantribute, smallmarketmeetings, jsonline, The Government of Indida and theweek. Please say exactly what is missing. Thank you, --Gereon K. (talk) 19:09, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Gereon K., thanks for pinging me! Yes, from the first glimpse, it indeed looks robust. But when we analyze deeper, we start to realize that most of the coverage for he is because she is the daughter in law of Kalki Bhagwan and is involved in several court cases. The Huffington Post is a contributor profile (barely contributes to notability); Open magazine is not significant coverage of her but her father in law. GQ is more about her husband. India Today, again not significant coverage of her. Hope you get my drift. I am hoping to clean this in coming future and would be happy to collaborate with you on this if you are interested in this page. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 14:53, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article has more than 70,000 page views since it's creation, which is a strong indicator for notability. Since I am the creator of this article off course I am interested in this page. That some of the references are not solely about her does not mean that they cannot be used. The article contains sources that are only about her. Not all of them have to be biographies that just have her as a subject. I don't see anything spiritual in her doing, it's plainly business. And in this business she worked together strongly with her husband - and she exploited the spiritual reputation of her father. The entire scams and enterprises where based on that. So it's natural that many our the sources mention her husband and/or her father. --Gereon K. (talk) 16:22, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Gereon K., I didn't know that number of hits on article was an indicator to notability. Please guide me to the guidelines so that I can read more and remember it for future. I agree with what you are saying. I don't know why you would think I am disagreeing with you. My challenge is that to qualify notability, there should be multiple sources with significant coverage of her and not trivial mentions to establish notability. Placing a tag, for me, means I am also contemplating and thinking more; if I was absolutely certain that this is not notable, I would have already put it on PROD or AFD. I think once we clean up the sources and add some more that can establish notability, we can remove the tag. What do you think? Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 17:45, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Nomadicghumakkad. The tag you used closes with "the article is likely to be merged, redirected, or deleted". This startled me, to be honest. The number of readers is not a factor in any guideline. I merely mentioned it to show notability, countering the deletion threat of your tag. I's quite possible that we will find new sources especially about her with the uproar about her person in the last year, I hadn't checked on the artilce for a while. --Gereon K. (talk) 17:52, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, the line that you are referring to in the tag starts with "If notability cannot be shown, the article is likely to be merged, redirected, or deleted." I am sorry if the tag came across as a threat. It is not a threat. Just something to ponder over and a nudge for us to see if this can be improved. Hope we are clear on this and you have no prejudices against me for placing this tag. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 17:58, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I just wanted to give you a useful link. Using this[4], you can check the complete history of an AFC reviewer. Use this for your reference. Regards Kichu🐘 Need any help? 17:18, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Kichu, thanks for this! I have been trying to reply on your talk page but its crashing constantly (maybe my connection is poor!). I understand the difference between NPP and AFC. I also got through the AFC script. 600 is a mighty number! HOW! I just did first! baby steps!! Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 17:21, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Kichu, I noticed a rejected draft by you Draft:Nikisha Jariwala (all for the right reasons. Its a mess in terms of both - POV and sourcing.!). I think it might have some scope in WP:Academic criteria 1 It says Criterion 1 can also be satisfied if the person has pioneered or developed a significant new concept, technique or idea, made a significant discovery or solved a major problem in their academic discipline. In this case it is necessary to explicitly demonstrate, by a substantial number of references to academic publications of researchers other than the person in question, that this contribution is indeed widely considered to be significant and is widely attributed to the person in question. She can be considered a pioneer for what she has done. Let me know your thoughts. If you think it has any merit, I can spend time to improve the language and sort the sources for you to accept it. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 17:31, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Actually the draft is fine in its present state. I only declined not rejected it earlier because of its promotional tone. It seems that it had been created for an undisclosed payment. Thats why I left it for other reviewers. There is no other issues and it is actually ready to be published. Want to give it a try? Kichu🐘 Need any help? 17:42, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

And regarding your first review which I just saw, the draft also looks promotional. So its better if you also add advert or NPOV reason also. Kichu🐘 Need any help? 17:45, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have much experience with UPE though. I can try to clean up the tone and you see if it works for you. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 17:49, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok then Nomadicghumakkad. And dont forget to ping me:) Kichu🐘 Need any help? 18:26, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good morning Kichu, check now. I have cleaned as much as I could (in fact I have boldly remove some material that could have stayed but was borderline promotional). Some notes:

1. There are still unnecessary references that you can remove 2. We are focussing on WP:Academic as the criteria from notability, WP:GNG doesn't matter. The sources hence are not to prove notability but to verify information 3. She has a lot of mentions in multiple books [5] which is useful while applying the criteria we talked about

Let me know what you think. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 03:08, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Its all ready to go. There is no issue with notability. I believe this might survive at AFD. But if the creator tries to use it for promotion after you accept it, somebody else will nominate it for nominate for AFD. Anyway, thats not our concern. You can accept it. Regards Kichu🐘 Need any help? 04:01, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I thought I would ask you to accept. Considering I have spent considerable amount of time cleaning this up and if I accept it too, won't it appear to be a conflict of interest or something? I am not worried about my stats being spoiled if someone AFDs it after I accept it; but someone else accepting might have been better since I am the one who cleaned it and accepting it too is too much involvement! What do you think? Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 04:05, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for striking my keep vote, as I am a creator. Please share the guideline where it is written that I can't vote and share my opinion for this page. I understand @Kashmorwiki: is your beloved friend but I have no issue with anyone if their intentions are good and to improve Wikipedia. Sonofstar (talk) 09:06, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Unsure if there are written guidelines, but I think it's common sense that the creator should refrain from voting. Of course you can leave a comment and explain why it should not be deleted but dropping a keep sort of means you are voting for yourself. Hope you understand. Also, even if @Kashmorwiki: often engage on topics and sometimes work together, it doesn't mean we blindly support each other! We have differences of opinions and act as per our sense of guidelines. Thanks. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 13:34, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sonofstar, please understand just because I help Nomadicghumakkad to become a good AFC reviewer doesnt mean we always share the same opinion. Yes I consider them as my good friend here, but does friends always have same opinion?. You can see my talk page that I always tries to help others and Im in term with several editors. And please feel free to ask for any help in case you need in my talk page andplease dont misinterpret things in wrong way. Also dont take anything personally here. And Nomadicghumakkad, I think the creator of the article have the right to vote in AFD as I have seen that it in plenty of AFD's. So its better you to self revert the vote you striked. Regards. Kichu🐘 Need any help? 14:27, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Kichu, I have seen rather opposite - experienced editors striking votes of creators and new accounts/IP addresses. Let's ask teahouse? Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 14:31, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes go ahead. Lets solve it now itself. Its rather confusing. Votes from suspicious IP addresses and accounts can be striked out. But here the case is different and I think it should not be done. Regards. Kichu🐘 Need any help? 14:35, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Nomadicghumakkad:, My common sense says that if anyone nominates for deletion then the Twinkle tool asks the page creator also to vote and express and the same is been done by me. I have not just written just one-word keep and if someone is just writing keep then the admin is smart enough to count the votes and the logic. I need to learn a lot but my basics are clear I guess without Teahouse. Sonofstar (talk) 14:53, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No need to be offended or arrogant! I have asked this at teahouse [7]. Maybe you are right and I am wrong! And If I am, I will happily revert my edit on that strike! Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 14:55, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There is no clarity on this so I have reverted it. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 15:04, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You can stike no issue till you get the clarity, Leaving the talk now. I generally don't like to argue in my personal life also but here I am not sure why striking comes to your mind after participating in 100s of AFD. This is the 1st time you striked someone's opinion and @Kashmorwiki: you are doing a great job, your intentions are good, so I am okay.Sonofstar (talk) 15:07, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question regarding references about funding rounds and annoucements

Hi, You recently reviewed the draft that I submitted about Next Insurance Draft:Next Insurance. You gave an example of a good reference (thanks for that, this is very helpful) and requested to remove the references that are about funding rounds. I understand that they are not counted for notability, but is it better not to give references to this at all for funding rounds? The articles were published in well-established sources, so I thought it would give credibility to the content. Again, I know it would not help me publish this article, I just want the content to be credible. What do you think? Thank you. --Delbarital (talk) 22:01, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Delbarital, sorry I have been away for a while. You ask a very important question and as a reviewer, I have been thinking a lot on this. My point of view is: when submitting for AFC, try to restrict to sources that directly contributes to notability (again this is only my POV and not standard Wiki guidelines). It is so because most of the times users add a number of sources and WP:REFBOMB it just for it to look credible. If you notice, there are too many sources that are related to funding, valuation, acquisition etc. If you want to cite the information about these things, one source for each should be enough. The objetive is to ensure that we adhere to WP:VERIFY and not that we should have too many sources saying the same thing. In fact, if there are multiple sources using same language and are not intellectually independent of each other, they might also be questioned for WP:INDEPENDENT. Hope you understand what I am trying to say. Please feel free to ask more questions. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 07:07, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Military conflicts in Paddar moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Military conflicts in Paddar, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Nabhit Kapur draft rejected

Hello Nomadicghumakkad,

I just saw that you deleted the draft of Nabhit Kapur because according to you it needs more independent sources WP:GNG. This draft is rejected two times and accepted one time. Every time I modified this draft and made some change according to the guidelines, added more independent sources. But you have rejected this draft again. Can you tell me what is wrong in this draft?

Moreover, there are so many articles which talked about Nabhit Kapur. And there are some independent articles which mentioned Nabhit Kapur for their work.

Looking forward to your reply. Rajveer90 (talk) 15:25, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Rajveer90, the assesment is not based on past rejects or accepts. It is basis the current situation of the article in which it is being reviewed.
  • [8] African Integrity Prize doesn't seem to be a significant award. The article also reads promotional and influenced by Nabhit.
  • Ted website is a primary source.
  • [9] - This is an interview and hence not independent.
  • [10] Again full of praises with link to his website. Should not be counted as independent.
  • [11] Doesn't seem to be a very reliable source.
  • [12] - this is the only source that has some merit.

Rest all doesn't seem reliable sources. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 16:52, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nomadicghumakkad,

I don't know why it is getting rejected all times because whenever it gets rejected I carefully see the reason, work on that and make changes accordingly. Last time when it was accepted one editor rejected it right after few hours. There was a discussion on this draft and many editors consider it as a good draft though I deleted some content and added more references to make it better but this time you rejected again. Everyone has different views but I think Wikipedia has same guidelines then how it can be good draft for three or four editors and promotional for others.

If you can help me in this then it would be grateful.

Thanks in advance. Rajveer90 (talk) 21:18, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rajveer90, a good draft means it has potential and might become notable in future. A good draft doesn't mean that it's surely ready for mainspace. I have already helped you by giving an analysis of sources. Please try to find more sources like [[13] this. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 09:47, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nomadicghumakkad,

I will see other sources and add them if they are same like The Week. One quick question, should I remove all the above references that you mentioned or you want me to add more like The Week ?

Thank you in advance. Rajveer90 (talk) 16:43, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rajveer90 , why don't you show me the new references here first and we can analyse them together before you add at the page? About those analyed above, keep them for now as removing them will have article having unsourced content which is also bad. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 17:11, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nomadicghumakkad, that's a good idea. I will share the references with you here soon.

Assistance for improving Probal DasGupta Article

Hi Nomadicghumakkad,

Thank you for reviewing the submission of Probal DasGupta.

I've mentioned all the information about him which I got to know from online sources and some of his near ones. And, I've cited reliable and relevant sources for the same.

Would appreciate it if you can help by providing some suggestions to improve this article and make it neutral.

Thanks!

Hi Shivam zac, can you define 'some of his near ones'. Do you know Prabol yourself? Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 17:26, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nomadicghumakkad,

No, I don't know Prabol directly. I heard about him from my connections who follows him. I got to know that he is a former Indian Army officer, author, and business leader. I've collected some information from his friends and colleagues to make this article more factual.

Thanks!

Hi Nomadicghumakkad,

Thank you for advising!

I've removed the whole education section due to a lack of strong reference. For Army section, I've added a reference where Military Historian mentioned that Probal is an ex-Indian Army officer.

Appreciate your help with this!

Hi Nomadicghumakkad,

Thank you for being patient.

I've uploaded the picture that I found from online sources only. Shivam zac (talk) 07:27, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shivam zac, this doesn't add up. Nonetheless, I have improved the article and you can submit it. But I would myself refrain from reviewing it. Let other editors evaluate. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 10:00, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nomadicghumakkad,

Thank you for helping to improve the article.

There is a COI template tag added to the article. As I mentioned earlier, I don't know him personally. But if it's due to the picture, can I replace the picture with a new one which is available on 'The Print' news media author profile? Can I re-submit the article after that?

Here is the source link: https://theprint.in/author/probal-dasgupta/ https://static.theprint.in/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/probal-dasgupta-profile-pic.jpg

Appreciate your help.

Shivam zac (talk) 12:23, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, replacing picture won't help now. Your responses are very dodgy. I suggest you ask more help at WP:TEA. Also, like I said, I have improved the article and you can submit it and wait for review from another editor. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 06:21, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Akshay Ruparelia

The article does not state Akshay is 'rich', recognition from awards won brand him like that. The only mention of 'rich' on the Wiki page is a citation to The 'Sunday Times Rich List' Ruparelia is noteworthy for being one of the UK's brightest and young entrepreneurs. Most notably referenced by the updated content and citation for Forbes 30 Under 30.

Summerswood15 (talk) 12:00, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Summerswood15, sorry if this made you angry. But if you notice that even the headlines not say 'rich', they are usually about being millionaire etc. Forbes 30 under 30 and such lists don't contribute to notability. They can be used as a primary source to add information though. BBC is an interview hence not independent, Forbes other quick fire round is also an interview. Reading WP:INDEPENDENT will also help. Draft:Minus_Zero

Hi, I saw that reviewers rejected the article 'Minus Zero' stating that company is not notable as per references. But all articles were independent including renowned Economic Times, Dataquest India, etc. Only two of those were interview based. As per Wikipedia guidelines the company seems notable, and articles have proper coverage (not just passing mention). Can you let me know what were the errors regarding each parameter? It would be a great help to improve my future articles or edit and contribute better to Wikipedia Mrexcoder (talk) 19:56, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Mrexcoder, it's a good question on independence. Even if a source is not a standard interview, but has a lot of content in double quotes or starts with XYZ says that, XYZ predicted, XYZ believes - all of this is again not counted as independent. So you need to consider only what's left after you have disregarded what is coming from the subject in the article. Hope this helps. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 06:04, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft Submission declined on 6 May 2021 | Draft:Shivani Khetan. Please Suggest How to Improve!

Hello Nomadicghumakkad! You added a tag to the article about Draft:Shivani_Khetan This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.

As Dr. Shivani Khetan have enough sources including newspapers articles and interviews. The article has 17 references. Please suggest how to improve it.

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, I'm writing to follow up on your review of Draft:Adriana Gaviria. I have revised the article in response to your feedback, including by adding the second in a series of two group interviews by the same author at the Hartford Courant that seems to add enough context and synthesis of facts to provide support for notability per WP:BASIC, a review from Terry Teachout at The Wall Street Journal that specifically comments on Gaviria, and a variety of sources about Gaviria's recent work as a producer: 1, 2 (this was also reprinted in the Miami Herald), 3 and Virtual Technical Director: 4, 5, 6. I also added a source from the National Endowment for the Arts about Gaviria and the Sol Project and current information about Gaviria's role with PAAL. I have not found much to add to the lobbying work, but it is not clear to me why that is relevant to clearing AfC.

In response to the suggestion that unsourced theater credits should be removed, I found a variety of sources that support some of the credits, including reviews 7, 8 and a primary source 9. I also found a source for several entries, e.g. 10, that also suggests entries are currently missing for Gaviria, but its editorial policies, while published, seem only slightly better than user-generated, i.e. "Though most of the cast and crew lists are entered by users like you, we try to review all the entries and are always eager to make sure the site is as accurate as possible." I also found, but have not added, more general references to productions Gaviria was in at Yale, because they lack details about her roles: 11, 12. Instead of removing unsourced content, I added a "This section needs additional citations for verification" tag - per my reading of the Biographies of Living Persons policy, i.e., with emphasis added, "Contentious material about living persons (or, in some cases, recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced—whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable—should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion," this material does not appear to be contentious and therefore does not appear to require immediate removal. Also, per the No original research policy, and footnote a, which includes, "Articles that currently name zero references of any type may be fully compliant with this policy—so long as there is a reasonable expectation that every bit of material is supported by a published, reliable source," and because there appears to be general support for the content from a variety of sources, from my view, it appears reasonable to expect that the unsourced material in this section can be supported by sources that have not been found yet. My thinking with adding the tag instead of removing the content is that it warns readers to not rely on unsourced content and encourages editors to continue looking for sources. However, I did remove content related to a short film I was unable to find any verification for, including the existence of the production company.

Anyway, this is all a very long way of saying thank you for your review. I have made a variety of revisions in response to your feedback, and if you have additional feedback to share, please do. Thanks again, Beccaynr (talk) 14:16, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Beccaynr, thanks for explaining this to me. I have accepted it. But I still have trouble with the activism and lobbying part. I tried to find sources on her work is PAAL and nothing but Facebook posts returned along with couple of sources that have passing mentions. I think activism and activist as a word carry a lot of weight and we should not assign it frivolously simply because real activists go through unimaginable things and its a disrespect if we call any other person who is standing up for a cause (once or twice) as activist. Hope you see where I am coming from.

Thank you, and for your reply - that helps me better understand the citation tag you added at the top of the article (that I have since removed and explained in my edit summary per the template guidelines). As to the activism label, I am taking a broad view of the totality of her advocacy work, including the Sol Project, which is an effort since 2016 that she helped found and continues to work with in a variety of ways to increase the visibility of Latinx theater, (I didn't include all of the SolFest sources because I was trying to avoid REFBOMBING), as well as North Star Projects, which supports independent artists and theaters, and especially her leadership roles and work with PAAL (there is a primary source for her leadership roles, and several sources about events she has been involved in, and one link to her writing) - the theme in all of this work is supporting and advocating for under-represented and marginalized groups in the theater community. So from my view, given the multiple advocacy groups she is working with, as a founder and in a leadership capacity, she appears to be an 'activist' for multiple causes, because she engages in fundraising, educational activities, and other related events for them. With PAAL, they appear to be trying to develop solidarity and to create changes in the theater industry for parents, and that seems to fit within 'activism.' As to the lobbying, it is currently supported by a primary source, that also verifies her participation in a leadership institute and her participation in a lobbying activity. She isn't referred to as a lobbyist in the article, but it is something significant she has done. Does this help clarify my perspective? I agree that activist is a term to be careful with, but it also seems that there is support in the sources for her work in a variety of ways on behalf of multiple causes. Beccaynr (talk) 04:58, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Beccaynr, it definitely clears your perspective and position. I think I am just more old school and conservative when it comes to sourcing of available information. I personally feel we should not make any of our own deductions or put out any information which is 100% cited by a reliable secondary source since we don't know how many people will actually read this article on Wikipedia and we bear the burden if any untrue or slightly wrong information is being read by people. But that's just me! Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 11:43, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
My perspective is also informed by WP:BASIC, which states, Primary sources may be used to support content in an article, but they do not contribute toward proving the notability of a subject, so it seems reasonable to use primary sources to establish her leadership role in PAAL and North Star Projects, as well as other sources that document some of her activities with those groups. And there are secondary sources in the article, such as The New York Times and The National Endowment for the Arts that support the notability of her work with the Sol Project. Given the broad definitions of 'activism' that are available, and the types of work the sources describe, I have been using the term as a way to summarize a broad group of activities that are outside of her acting/producing/directing career. However, she self-identifies as an 'advocate,' and per WP:BASIC, it looks like we can use that term to support content in the article, so I have revised the article accordingly. Thank you very much for sharing your perspective. Beccaynr (talk) 14:29, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much Beccaynr. I didn't have problems with notability really. I am just wary to accept that has claims coming from primary source. I think I need to get over my own mental block with this. You won't believe but I credit my understanding of WP:BASIC to you. After we started debating on Jyoti Arora, I started asking questions (you also responded there I rememmeber!) and I developed better understanding of the nuances. Hoping to keep learning from you. Cheers, and I think you raised an important point per MOS:LEADREL, which is why I removed the information about the lobbying from the lead - it currently is only supported by a primary source, and even though the MOS doesn't specify 'secondary,' it seems implied by that section. I also agree that there is nuance in WP:BASIC, and I am glad that we have had so many opportunities to discuss it - my understanding also continues to develop, and I appreciate your questions and feedback. Thank you again! Beccaynr (talk) 04:52, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Rima Khachatryan

Dear Nomadicghumakkad,

Thank you for your comment!

I have revised and rewritten the article. The text structure is improved. All statements refer to official websites and/or independent and well-known media resources. Some information is updated as new articles have been published recently.NikNar555 (talk) 19:15, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey NikNar555, the previous reviewer had commented that This reads like a resume which it still does and hence my note. The article also reads very promotional. For example came to prominence, A strong advocate of lifelong learning. Since she has written books that are now being used in other medical institutions, there might be merit in WP:Academic criteria 4. But we will need evidence for that too. First step here would be to remove resume kind of lannguage, promotional language and any content that's not sourced. Please read WP:NPOV & WP:VER. Let me know if you need more help. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 15:43, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, thank you very much indeed for your comments and assistance! I’ll do my best to improve the text! Frankly speaking I was just trying to show all the virtues of her, as I was impressed by her biography that was published after her death. Actually, this is my first article in Wikipedia, and I will highly appreciate it, if you can mention which exact parts are written in ‘promotional language’ NikNar555 (talk) 18:23, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hey NikNar555, sorry it took long to get back. I can show you some more examples like was made by renowned, by a well-known Armenian sculptor. The best praise of the textbooks. What is being said about her, you can bring it in double quotes verbatim with no frills attached. That will help. I will try to give it some more time to clean up better after you have done. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 09:09, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi,Nomadicghumakkad, all the mentioned resume kind and promotional language externalities are removed from the text now. All the quotations are brought in double quotes verbatim with due references. References [2],[13],[14] contain clear evidence on her textbooks being now used in the medical institutions of Armenia. Nevertheless, I would be grateful to you if you could try to give some more time to clean up the text better.NikNar555 (talk) 17:37, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey NikNar555, good to see you. I was hoping to hear from you. I have accepted the article, but,

Please make a not on copyright infringment. Any thing that you are not quoting verbatim and explaining it needs to be rewritten in your own language. I notices this whole para is probably copied from some source Her work enhanced nurse education, that led to establishment of medical vocational schools in rural areas of Armenia (Gavar, Ararat, Hrazdan, Armavir, Martuni during 1970-1995, as well as of the first scientifically based nursing schools at St. Gregory the Illuminator Hospital (2008) and #11 Policlinic (1996) in Yerevan
The website of an institute she started is a primary source and content should not heavily rely on it. For all material that you have used that website, try to find other secondary sources.
A lot of material might still be unsourced. You have used wiki pages of artists as sources. Wiki itself is not a source. Please find and add relevant sources. Please read WP:RS. Unsourced material might be removed.

Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 13:49, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Nomadicghumakkad, thank you again for your continuing efforts. I understand your concern! As a matter of fact, I have used a lot of secondary sources. The problem is: they are in Armenian. For this very reason I haven’t mentioned them in the list of references. Now I realized, that this was my mistake. I will amend the text appropriately. Along with each primary source I will mention a secondary source as well.
I have mentioned two wiki pages as an information source about the artists. As their wiki pages are not in English, I cannot mark them as a direct link. If it is possible to mention them as direct links, please kindly advise. Here I will add secondary sources as well. Please also mention, that works of the mentioned artists are shown in the “Gallery” section.NikNar555 (talk) 14:26, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey NikNar555, Wiki pages in other languages can be used as direct links. Also, Armenian sources (or sources in any languages) are fine as long as they are WP:RS and WP:INDEPENDENT. Hoping you would be improving this article with many Armenian sources that adhere to these guidelines and increase the quality of this article. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 09:58, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Nomadicghumakkad, I did what you had suggested! First, I found secondary sources for the facts, taken from the mentioned website. For this I used the aritcles published in Armenian media (in Armenian and Russian), books, and other publications. Now along with each primary source, an appropriate secondary source is mentioned as well. I also rewrote the quotations in my own language, and removed all the unsourced materials. The wiki pages of artists are now used as direct links and removed from the list of references. Moreover, I know that some Armenian researchers are studying Rima Khachatryan’s life and activities. They are going to publish their findings in the near future, so this will give me a chance to improve the article even more. NikNar555 (talk) 10:42, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bruce A. Wright and Robert D. Bishop Jr.

I noticed that you declined two new articles I created for retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant generals.

My understanding is that flag and general officers are automatically considered notable enough for a Wikipedia article under the guidelines issued by the Wikipedia Project Military History.

Plenty of other officers of similar rank have had articles created for them, even if they did not command large numbers of troops in combat. I have also created dozens of similar articles for other senior officers in the past, and they almost always get approved right away.

Could you please reconsider, or explain to me why the articles aren't notable enough?

Thank you very much. Gunwriter (talk) 14:15, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Gunwriter, thanks for bringing this to my notice. Can you please guide me to the Wikipedia Project related to this which says that flag and general officers are automatically notable? I am aware it happens at WP:NPOL but didn't know it happened here. I might have made a mistake and I am willing to learn and correct it. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 14:49, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

On the page Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Historical SOLDIER essay, it stated that flag and general officers were qualified for a wikipedia article. Looking at it now, it appears that those guidelines have been changed relatively recently (February 2021) following a discussion at Wiki Project Military History. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what the new guidelines for notability are. Perhaps the standards for general officers have changed, perhaps not. Could you help me look? Gunwriter (talk) 16:07, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

On the page Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Notability guide, it references this essay as the former way of identifying notability for military people. It unfortunately doesn't look like they have put a replacement for it yet, my guess is that the community is still discussing what a good set of guidelines would look like.Gunwriter (talk) 16:16, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Gunwriter, yes, I am looking at it too. That's no more applicable unfortunately and they are saying that we should refer to WP:BIO again that will require secondary sources etc. Honestly, I also feel it's unfair since likelihood of media covering individual soldiers is little unless there are major events. I will try to read more and see if there is more available literature that guides for such cases. You can also ask this question at Teahouse WP:TEA. I always find very good guidance there. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 09:00, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, can you help this article Draft:C.H. Centre publishing to main space and improve or develop Msp7com (talk) 03:23, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Msp7com, I think the first thing would be to come clean with a possible COI like the last reviewer said. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 09:02, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, as a follow up to my recent edit, I am in the process of revising this article, which is one of the reasons I restored the Bibliography. I have also found sources for several of the texts, but had not specifically added them, but some are already in the article - in any event, if the ISBNs are converted to hyperlinks, they become searchable, and per WP:OR, there is a reasonable expectation that there are sources to verify that they exist. I have also been using the Publications section as a place to add articles that discuss the works, and may change the section title to reflect that.

Also, please note that I will be off-wiki for a bit, so unfortunately will not have an opportunity to keep working on the article immediately. But I keep finding sources: 1, 2, 3, 4, and I have been trying to figure out how to incorporate them into a main article section. I am thinking about creating a 'Commentary' section, and maybe a Public Service section. Polymaths seem to create a particular challenge for BLPs, or at least this one does. Cheers, Beccaynr (talk) 13:33, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Beccaynr, thanks for restoring. I didn't know ISBNs are considered sources! Always learning something new from you! What do you think we should include in the commentary section? Do you have any examples (any pages that already have such sections)? I can refer to those and I can try to create and expand on my own. A Public service section also sounds good. I am just worried that we should not ending up dancing around the neutrality borderline! Again, thanks for your work on this! Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 13:38, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think ISBNs help get us close enough to sources, including Worldcat and Googlebooks, to keep them in the article, at least until they can be verified. And examples of Commentary sections are here: Geeta Luthra, Rebecca Mammen John, and here: Rashida Richardson (titled Advocacy). See also WP:NPROF criteria 7, Criterion 7 may be satisfied, for example, if the person is frequently quoted in conventional media as an academic expert in a particular area. A small number of quotations, especially in local news media, is not unexpected for academics and so falls short of this mark and Criterion 7 may also be satisfied if the person has authored widely popular general audience books on academic subjects provided the author is widely regarded inside academia as a well-established academic expert and provided the books deal with that expert's field of study. Polymaths! :) Beccaynr (talk) 13:49, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You have very aptly highlighted the problem with polymaths! WP:Academic is a funny criteria honestly. Part of it are so black and white (like C6 that says Vice Chancelors are notable) and then C1 and C7 which is very relative. And how do you do this green thing? I see a tq in source code. Looks like that's the trick! small quantities is a relative figure. But the later part of this criteria Criterion 7 may also be satisfied if the person has authored widely popular general audience books on academic subjects provided the author is widely regarded inside academia as a well-established academic expert and provided the books deal with that expert's field of study. might work since I saw 1.5 Lakhs download of the book and the regular commentry and training indicates that the subject is a well established academic expert. Request on 14:01:09, 21 May 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Philbutler

Hi. First of all, thanks for your efforts in reviewing this entry for Shiji. I am at a bit of a loss as to what more I need to do.

Please, I have cited a great many sources. Much of the information about this hotel services group is in Chinese from the early years, so not as easily researched as other similar organizations. I added a few new sources by staff writers as opposed to contributors at media like Forbes, per previous suggestions.

Looking at the hotel groups I used as examples, my Shiji sources are more numerous and higher ranking than those at for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, and others. As another for instance, Holiday Inn, a much older organization, is sourced using press releases from IHG.

If you could please suggest, I am doing my best to become a better Wikipedia editor.

Thanks very much for any assistance, I know how busy everyone is. Philbutler (talk) 14:01, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the declining of Draft:Vidhya Vinod

Hi, Nomadicghumakkad i have gone through the comment you have made on Draft:Vidhya Vinod and you states that it is likely to be churnalism, i believe it is a baseless comment because she recently achieved that position and it is a big news for south India that a women from a small town come across this height. i have found lot of other articles about her and added those too. kindly go through all the citations correctly before taking decision. thanks

I am a lady wikipedian and i am new here, moreover this is my first article, i am seeking assistance from experts like you.. just doing this for passion and wasted lot of time for research and learning.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajna Hamza (talkcontribs) 19:21, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ajna Hamza, I wish I could read Malyalam/Tamil to give a detailed feedback. What I want to highlight is that WP:GNG would demand intellectually independent coverage. So all coverage that's related to her reaching the list would more or less amount to one until and unless they are saying things significantly different than other (which doesn't seem to be the case here). While [21] this one is an interview, I can still count it to contribute it to WP:BASIC. Can you help me with more similar sources that are

Not about her reaching the 100 rich list

AND

Are not trivial mentions like [22].

Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 06:00, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, What i believe is if you couldn't know to read Malayalam or tamil you can use google translator and understand the context of the content so that you can do a better feedback, in the mean time am trying my best to find more cites about her. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajna Hamza (talkcontribs) 13:54, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Ajna Hamza, will take your advise with a pinch of salt but turns out I was right. All these sources basically say the same thing. Looking forward to other sources that will help establish notabiltiy. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 16:12, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No way brother Nomadicghumakkad , the titles looks similar but the contents are different, i too don't know to read tamil but i had gone through the articles with the help of translator,, and it seems different to me.

Hey Ajna Hamza, this is exactly what Churinalism is. Saying same thing all over again but in different language. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 10:27, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Nomadicghumakkad, Please don't misinterpret my words i said that only the titles have little similarity but the articles are different from each other, every media said about the list because of that achievements she made that was the hot news of that moment.

I have added few more relevant cites to the draft Draft:Vidhya Vinod, can you please have a look and put your valuable feedback here??

Hi Ajna Hamza, will be very helpful if you can share the new citations here itself. Thanks! Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 13:37, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Review

Hello, from the discussion about the review, I followed up on the "Notability" , the person im writing about Manoj S is the only Sri lankan who has been contributing to the Art fraternity in the Karnataka state of India. This is considered a major achievement and it is very notable in terms of Art and Culture. Since Srilankan has way major controversies on Tamils the reach which this individual has made in an unknown territory has to be told. Do help me write this article successfully and review it so that this person can reach many people to inspire them to This person already had a Wikipedia Page but was deleted due to some glitch (Reference : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manoj_S.).

Hello, youtube, amazon, facebook, bookmyshow are not reliable sources. Please read WP:RS and WP:GNG. You can also ask for more help at WP:TEA. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 13:33, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Powerful Karma , doesn't look like it does. Making controversial remarks to get attention and coverage is the trick of Rakhi Sawant Era. He didn't win any reality TV shows. So that's also out. It is clear there are no grounds for WP:PROF. I think it is common sense that we can't deem a person notable simply because he made controversial statements and media covered it. Also main coverage is by The News Minute. Rest is rewrites. I will try to remove some churinalism sources to have better view. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 06:07, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Declination of Ronnie Jupiter

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, I am MarkieC07. I am inquiring regarding the declination of a recent draft I created, Ronnie Jupiter. For the record, I believe Ronnie is a musician with enough notability to be included on Wikipedia, according to the criteria stated on this page (guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). If you look at under the section "Criteria for musicians and ensembles", there are several criteria that were satisfied. Here are my arguments below:

Criteria 1: Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself. This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, magazine articles, online versions of print media, and television documentaries except for the following:

  • Any reprints of press releases, other publications where the musician or ensemble talks about themselves, and all advertising that mentions the musician or ensemble, including manufacturers' advertising.
  • Works consisting merely of trivial coverage, such as articles that simply report performance dates, release information or track listings, or the publications of contact and booking details in directories.
  • Articles in a school or university newspaper (or similar), in most cases.

Argument: If you look at the references I provided, there is a reliable newspaper article source I provided: https://www.thesundaily.my/style-life/entertainment/ronnie-rocks-on-GJ7856383 (Reference 3). This article was published by The Sun (Malaysia), a newspaper brand in Malaysia. If you look closely at this article, you can easily see it's a reliable source fulfilling the criteria.

Criteria 9: Has won first, second or third place in a major music competition. Argument: According to this source - https://www.nst.com.my/lifestyle/groove/2018/04/359830/showbiz-ronnie-crowned-fly-fms-flydol-2018-champ#:~:text=KUALA%20LUMPUR%3A%20Flydol%20Ronnie%20won,FM's%20Facebook%20Live%20on%20Thursday (Reference 4), Ronnie won champion in the Flydol 2018 singing competition, a competition hosted by Fly FM, a Malaysian radio station. This is a major competition as Fly FM is a notable, national-level radio station. Additionally, this article was also published by New Straits Times, a reliable newspaper article, again fulfilling Criteria 1.

Criteria 10: Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g., a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album, etc. (But if this is the only claim, it is probably more appropriate to have a mention in the main article and redirect to that article. Read the policy and notability guideline on subjects notable only for one event, for further clarifications). Argument: In 2019, Ronnie performed If I Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys in Asia's Got Talent, a notable network television show. Here is the source, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiI9CkG5SUA which I also included in Reference 1.

Considering all these criteria mentioned above, I strongly urge you to review the draft thoroughly again and accept the submission. If you think my arguments are not valid and the draft needs to be declined again, kindly state clear reasoning where I was wrong in mentioning the arguments above in my talk page. I wish you have a good day ahead. MarkieC07 (talk) 17:34, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello MarkieC07, thanks for reaching out. This is definitely a new area for me. Your detailed note here will be very helpful for me to re-review this. Thanks again for that. Please give me some time to assess again. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 12:19, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey MarkieC07, so I did a recheck. Let's cover it one by one.

  • I don't agree that Flydol is a major/notable competition simply because Fly FM is notable. Notability can't be inheritied. So any or every show that is being streamed at any notable channel should not become notable automatically.
  • I don't think they include reality TV shows for Criteria 10. This way, hundreds of people coming in hundreds of singing reality TV shows will become notable. Asia's Got Talent is a reality TV show. Also, if this becomes true, criteria 9 would start to lose meaning. What's the point of C9 if C10 will cover everyone singing at TV reality shows?

Draft:Baba Adhav

I have been working on a Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Baba_Adhav. I was hoping to receive some constructive feedback on it (specifically the tone) so that this page can be approved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AmanAdhav (talkcontribs) 01:54, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey AmanAdhav, first of all, have you declared your Conflict of Interest? Please read WP:COI. Two main things in the draft. First of all, please either remove all unsourced material or provide sources for all the information. For example Some of his key social reforms include establishing an unorganized workers’ trade union called the Hamal Panchayat, introducing minimum wages for head loaders and laborers, the creation and implementation of Maharashtra Mathadi Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act and instigating the Ek Gaav, Ek Panavtha (translation One village, one pond) movement to ensure Dalits/untouchables get access to water in rural Maharashtra. Baba has played a key role in pursuing the state authorities to enact progressive legislation like the Slum Rehabilitation Act, Dam and Project-Affected Rehabilitation Act, and the Devdasi Rehabilitation Act You have cited [23] for all these activities. Do you think this source covers all that is written? WP:VER is very important. So it's a request to please either add sources for all information or remove information for which you don't have sources. I don't think tone is a problem here. The problem here is that you have credited him with so many things without proper evidences. Can you fix this - that is add more sources for all the info and then ping me? Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 03:25, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I have added the relevant citations for all the sections. I believe I have declared my conflict of interest. AmanAdhav (talk) 00:06, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello AmanAdhav , this still needs major rework. I will try to work on it myself. Give me some time. I don't see where you have declared COI. Should ideally be at your user page I think. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 07:40, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have added the COI (asked someone how to do this at the help desk). I was hoping to get this approved by June 1st but again I don't want to rush you or the review process. Are there any changes I can make? AmanAdhav (talk) 01:20, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi AmanAdhav, like I said, give me some time to edit this. You can probably see that an example and try to do rest. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 09:30, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi AmanAdhav, I have started working on it and I think I have understood where you are confused. For this information Some of his key social reforms include establishing an unorganized workers’ trade union called the Hamal Panchayat, introducing minimum wages for head loaders and laborers, the creation and implementation of Maharashtra Mathadi Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act you have cited [24]. This entire document doesn't mention Baba Adhav. WP:VER means that any information you provide needs to be cited by third party sources. What you are doing here is providing supporting document of the outcome which isn't required. You rather need to provide a source that verifies that Baba Adhav did it. Are you getting me? Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 15:17, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Clarificartion Regarding declination of submission " Draft:Sushil Chandra Roy Chowdhury".

This is my first article on wikipedia. It is true athat I provided a lot of unsourced information like the place of virth, parents etc.. The only sources that I have are several newspaper headlines from the 1930s and 1998 as he lived and worked long ago. Online sources are not available. The newspapers are notable national and international. He has remained unrecognized for long. Please tell me if I delete all the unsourced information and keep only the information the newspaper, (as a source will it be accepted). I shall add all newspaper cutout images, and no additional information. Aditya Roychowdhury - Periodic Table (talk) 02:03, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand what you are proposing to do. Are you proposing to add images of the newspaper articles that you want to cite? If so, please don't, for two reasons: (i) Copyright issues aside, this isn't an acceptable way to construct a Wikipedia article -- except if the article (such as this one) is truly remarkable. (ii) Copyright material can't be reproduced, so you'd have to check that the articles from the 1930s are no longer copyright, and those from 1998 almost certainly are copyright. -- Hoary (talk) 08:23, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Hoary But what about the old articles in print and not on the web? How do we cite those? Do we ignore them just because they are old? Aditya Roychowdhury - Periodic Table (talk) 08:59, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No, Aditya Roychowdhury, sources that aren't on the web are fine; sources that are old are fine; and, although you haven't asked about this, sources in Bengali or Hindi are fine. And a source that combines these (e.g. a source that's old, not on the web, and in Bengali) is fine. Please provide the title of the article as well as the title of the newspaper and the date; also, name the author (if the name is specified, and of course in a newspaper it usually isn't specified) and specify the page number(s). -- Hoary (talk) 09:10, 30 May 2021 (UTC) deletion Hoary (talk) 11:35, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, Aditya Roychowdhury, that was sloppy thinking/writing. What I should have said is that a source isn't disqualified because it's one or more among (i) old, (ii) not available on the internet, and (iii) in Bengali or Hindi (or any other language). -- Hoary (talk) 11:35, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Hoary Can you please check my article citation and see if it is acceptable. It will be of help.

I asked you, Aditya Roychowdhury, please not to upload material. (My request appears a few centimetres above.) You uploaded it anyway. (I infer that I wasn't at all persuasive.) And now, the most pressing problems are about copyright. This is a serious matter. -- Hoary (talk) 04:33, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Hoary I am sorry. But I had already uploaded those 1 day before even beginning the conversation with you. I underatand that there are copyright issues appearing. But I dont even know how to change information or delete them. I am on this site for just three days and am quite perplexed. Please understand my predicament. Please see the news articles clippings. There are no online sources due to the old age. But I have made an archive and attached the the necessary details. Aditya Roychowdhury - Periodic Table (talk) 01:29, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Davydov Consulting

Thanks for the review, I'll change the source to https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/10646709 But I'm not sure about its quality, can you tell me if this source will be useful for the article.

Hello. No, this looks like just company information posted in a directory manner. This won't be useful. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 08:28, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft: Uwern Jong

Hi Nomadicghumakkad. As per your advice, I have now redrafted the article from a more neutral point of view, in encyclopedic format and removed all "peacocking". I have also removed all unnecessary references. I would be very grateful if you could review and suggest if I need to make any further improvements for the article's approval. Thanks in advance and for taking the time to provide advice, appreciate it. MorganLoys (talk) 22:01, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Nomadicghumakkad, appreciate it. Standing by for any edits MorganLoys (talk) 07:51, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MorganLoys, sorry I have not been so active. So let's pick it one by one:

and developed Thailand's “Go Thai Be Free” LGBTQ travel campaign, as part as the government’s strategy to attract more diverse tourists to the country. I can't find appropriate citation to this.
Jong is credited as an Editor who has been a "material player in the advancement of LGBTQ+ rights What you have cited is this [25]. Good reads is usually not a source and we can't access the book to know where and how this statement is given. May be try Google Books. Even if you can't provide an evidence of this, you can still be believed while assuming good fait.
Jong was born in Portsmouth, United Kingdom. He attended the University of Warwick and completed his MA at The University of North London. Unsourced
He was Managing Director of LGBTQ+ marketing agency Boutique Marketing where he helped launched Emerald Life, the UK's first LGBTQ+ insurance specialist You have cited the company website itself which is a primary source. Also, this has started to read like a CV.

Conclusion is - first of all, let's remove all that is unsourced and try to do away with CVish things. I (and I am sure other editors) acknowledge and respect his work. But let's first focus on why he is notable because everything else is a distraction. I feel he might be notable as per WP:CREATIVE that says The person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work. In addition, such work must have been the primary subject of an independent and notable work (for example, a book, film, or television series, but usually not a single episode of a television series) or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews.. So try to establish how his magazine has been regularly covered and hence he qualifies WP:Creative. Hope this is helpful. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 15:05, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nomadicghumakkad - wow thank you for your feedback, and I really value you taking the time and being so patient. I will give this another go and your last advice about notability will really help. Will revert shortly. MorganLoys (talk) 16:50, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
