Can you upload the Strive renders of the Guilty Gear characters with articles (Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, Millia Rage, Faust, and I-No)? KOFXIV

Sorry for bothering you about this again but could you see the a bit the prose of another article I've working on? It's The King of Fighters XIV. I once nominated it to GA but it had to fail without a proper review due to the nominator being busy in real life. It was around early April so it was a complicated time with the quarentene everybody was having. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 16:40, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: I have the same thoughts on it as Judgement; I think you do a great job bringing all the necessary information into an article, but I do not think the writing quality is GA level. You'd need someone who speaks English natively, has an understanding of KOFXIV, and has experience with VG articles to do a thorough copyedit. Hi, I'm Ias. I've been thinking that you halted progress on turning Chaos Field into GA. You can come back to that article and make it a GA again. The article has potential. -iaspostb□x+ 21:52, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@I'm Aya Syameimaru!: Thanks for your message. I agree that it's ready to be nominated, but I've been busy IRL and do not feel comfortable nominating any article for GA at this time. If you want to nominate it and shepherd it through the process, you are welcome to. TarkusABtalk/contrib 22:02, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, that's lucky! I can consider it well. -iaspostb□x+ 22:06, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, now I've nominated it for GA status. This is very anticipated. -iaspostb□x+ 22:28, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Surprise!

I'm collaborating with Thibbs to interview you for the upcoming Q4 2020 issue of the WikiProject Video games newsletter. I was gonna make only Thibbs do the questions, but he wanted me to do the same, so we're both interviewing you. Is this a good idea? «=-iaspostb□x+ 00:11, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@I'm Aya Syameimaru!: Oh, this is certainly a surprise. Yes I would be honored to do an interview. I'm OK with answering questions from both of you, as long as you're not repeating questions. TarkusABtalk/contrib 04:27, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add NoACEMM to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:33, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Someone's been a busy bee and has been scanning a lot of Japanese only adventure game guide books. I think it's Chinese scanners out of places like Endless Fight but I haven't completely confirmed. There seems to be about 5-6 books scanned per month. Harizotoh9 (talk) 17:39, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Harizotoh9: Thanks for letting me know. The developer interview in that guide was actually already translated. I own the guide too, bought it maybe a year ago before the translation or that archive was published. Good to know I can let this stuff go. TarkusABtalk/contrib 17:59, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Chinese scanning groups operate on forums that outsiders can't join or see their download links. However, since 2018 about 5-6 books per month have been posted on raw manga sites and people like kitsunebi77 have been posting them to archive. Possibly because of this, a chinese scanner from endless Fight has been posting on archive directly under the name GamebookScanner. Harizotoh9 (talk) 16:25, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

League of Legends

Hey, Tarkus. I remembered your feedback from a few days back about moving Player culture in the article. I went to go check what specifically your feedback said so I could implement it, then, when I checked, saw that you'd already done it. Really demonstrates how I'm tunnel visioning on the sections themselves and not looking at where they are, heh. Thanks Tarkus! — ImaginesTigers (talk) 12:03, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate you pointed out that there were too many hatnotes but...

The linking of articles like you proposed on List of fictional bisexual characters and total removal of all hatnotes is not going to help the readers who "could potentially arrive at this article when looking for another page" that you are talking about. So, I reduced the number of notes to only four articles, which I would say is fine and acceptable. I would hope you don't reject that change, because I would argue that the hatnotes, in their current and reduced form, are useful. --Historyday01 (talk) 14:53, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I responded on the talk page for the article. Let's keep conversation there. TarkusABtalk/contrib 15:02, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject Video games Newsletter survey

Hello Tarkus! I'm conducting a feature for the video games newsletter similar to that of a survey. I'm going to ask users their opinions on a specific matter and highlight unique and common answers to determine consensus on a subject. Your input would be very valuable, alongside others, to help answer this question.

The question is: How do you determine what makes a video game character notable enough for their own page? Do you follow pre-existing guidelines or have your own opinions on the matter?

Panini🥪 10:40, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Panini!: I think the project should use WP:GNG as a guideline, but maintain flexibility to discuss and judge character articles on an individual basis to ultimately do what is best for the encyclopedia and the reader. Even if a character passes GNG, sometimes they are better discussed within the context of a "List of characters..." article or a series article. Other times, characters may arguably not pass GNG, but will have a wealth of interesting development or critical commentary surrounding them. Fitting all that into a larger article while avoiding undue weight could be a challenge, so in those cases, a spinoff article may be the best solution. I think it's important to remember that GNG is not a policy but a guideline, and a gray one at that, and we should use our best judgement to improve the encyclopedia. Panorama Cotton

Hey there! I know you're busy and have interest on Cotton but since i've tackled pretty much every entry now and i'm busy with other activities here on Wikipedia, i'll leave Panorama Cotton's article alone so you can improve it better than i could... Roberth Martinez (talk) 00:46, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@KGRAMR: Thanks for letting me know. If I can gather the energy to improve it one day, I will. TarkusABtalk/contrib 01:47, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@TarkusAB:Hey! I know this is none of my business but i noticed that you're working on the Famicom Detective Club duology. I wanted to let you know that I put two additional sources about both entries on their respective talk pages: One from Adventure Gameside and another from Continue, which contains an interview with Sakamoto about the development process for each game but that information is on the Japanese Wikipedia entry for both titles. Roberth Martinez (talk) 04:50, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@KGRAMR: Thanks. I completed the merge and made sure to move your sources to the new talk page. TarkusABtalk/contrib 05:53, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@TarkusAB: Hello there! Look, i'm sorry for bothering you right now and i know you're busy in real life but i don't know if you could help me with just one area of a draft i'm preparing for the first Arcana Heart entry for Arcades and PlayStation 2 but i'll explain briefly what's happening with that: I was almost done with it, as i thought there was no development info about it until i somehow came across with a treasure trove of information thanks to a interview by Dengeki Online with late Arcana Heart designer Tohru Sakurai but i was overwhelmed with the 4-part interview due to all the development info that i just don't know if i could do it justice by myself. It may be too much to ask but could you help me with just the development section of the Draft:Arcana Heart? I'll take care of everything else alone but i need help with just that section and if you can't in case you're extremely busy, then do you know someone else who could help me with that? Roberth Martinez (talk) 03:02, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@KGRAMR: Hi, KGRAMR. I'm sorry but I don't have any familiarity with Arcana Heart or any interest to read and write that much about it. You can still publish the draft and perhaps just put a couple key points from the source into the article. That way, the footnote is there and interested readers can click through to it if they want. You never know, another reader may expand the article later. TarkusABtalk/contrib 03:58, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@TarkusAB:Oh OK! I'll try to do that. Thanks for the reply at least :) Roberth Martinez (talk) 04:04, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for The Bachelor and race

On 7 March 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article The Bachelor and race, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the American reality TV series The Bachelor took 18 years and 25 seasons to star its first black man? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/The Bachelor and race. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, The Bachelor and race), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (ie, 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Ethiopia blockchain scheme for 5m students

I've added 'more concrete' to the page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Cardano_(blockchain_platform)#Ethiopia_blockchain_scheme_for_5m_students

In regards to the list of cancelled Virtual Boy games

Hey there Tarkus! Sorry if I'm bothering you right now but is there any way I can revert the redirect Namcokid did to the list of cancelled games for the Virtual Boy (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_Virtual_Boy_games&diff=995572785&oldid=991655863). I made the list for it but he came along and redirect it to the main Virtual Boy game list without starting a discussion to delete it or redirect it, only for then having it completely wiped out. For the record, I made that list before I got a warning from Izno telling me to stop making these kinds of cancelled game lists or it would lead me being banned from this topic and others of WP:VG, which pretty much killed my interest in making said lists (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:KGRAMR#Lists_of_cancelled_games)... Roberth Martinez (talk) 05:54, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@KGRAMR: Hi Roberth. I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. If you are just simply trying to access the source code for the list, you can click on the time/date in the article history for the revision just before NamcoKid removed the list, and then click "Edit Source" at the top to see the source code for that revision. If you're asking if I can reintroduce the list back into the article, obviously there was a dispute and I don't want to get in the middle of that dispute, so you'll have to negotiate with NamcoKid/Izno. TarkusABtalk/contrib 06:12, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@TarkusAB:*sigh* Oh well, I wanted to bring it back but I guess it's best for me to avoid this topic. Thanks for the reply at least! I better stick and remain focused with making/improving articles then, as it's admittedly more fun than working with game lists and it was taking time from me to play games IRL due to being so arduous to make them in the first place. I hope you're doing well! Roberth Martinez (talk) 06:19, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject Video games Newsletter survey

I'm conducting another survey for the Wikiproject Video games Newsletter. If you could leave your thoughts on the matter it would be greatly appreciated. Every response will be compiled into a MOS-Esque answer that balances the thoughts of our top contributors. You're one of them! The question is as follows:

What would you consider the requirements of making a video game series article? What about franchise articles?

If you would like to respond, please ping me here and write your reply. I'll handle the rest. Thanks in advance, Panini!🥪 14:57, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Panini!: In cases where a series has three or more major entries, I think a series article is permissible (but not required) for navigation and general overview. In cases where there are only two entries, series articles should be assessed on a case-by-case basis. For example, there are two The Last of Us games and I do not think we need a series article today. The games have largely been discussed independently of each other, and there are almost no other creative works in the series. Compare this to StarCraft which, while also only having two major entries, has several articles on expansions, a major esports scene, as well as non-gaming media. This makes the argument for a series article much stronger. As for franchise articles, well, they are just series articles but you can call it a franchise if there is an abundance of notable non-gaming content. A good example would be Resident Evil with its line of films, books, and comics. The game series and franchise can be maintained within the same article. There is no need to separate the two unless we're talking about something massive (e.g. Star Wars vs. Star Wars video games). TarkusABtalk/contrib 21:10, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
