In this page please remove the line which tells that Sundhi or soundik belongs to scheduled caste In West Bengal . I guess sunri is getting confused with soundik/sundhi. Even the support attachments of West Bengal talks about the sunri caste not sundhi. Please make a change. 2405:201:1007:A158:C03A:A61B:A335:BFE1 (talk) 10:21, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Sir/Madam, I didn't added any external link to Jaiswal (surname). All were verified citation created to support the sentences which you are continuously reverting blindly by java codes. It would be better to took your time and verify all of it. the First citation was for Liquor selling business made from PDF report generated for Government of West Bengal. The Second Citiaion was made to Support Vaishya Status by India TV(a prominent Indian TV News Channel) and by The Econimics Times (The Subsidary of The Times of India) and the third citation was for Somvanshiya Kshatirya Staus by Dainik Bhaskar (World 4th Largest Selling Newspaper) and Navbharat times. There is also book reference of People of India: Delhi by K. S. Singh and Daughters of the earth by Smita Tewari Jassal a notable historian. It would by better if you read all these references to satisfy yourself so that you can stop vandalizing the page. Thanks. Swapnil1101 (talk) 21:09, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sir/Madam, I have just reverted your poorly sourced edits. Don’t refer constructive edit as vandalism. Regarding the sources, per WP:RS, India TV, The Times of India, Dainik Bhaskar, Navbharat times and matrimonial sites(jeevansathi.com) are not considered reliable on this project. As explained by me earlier, you will have to provide scholarly sources for the history/caste-related details. Also you have directly added level 2 warning. Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors, also read WP:NOTVAND, WP:RS & WP:V. Thanks. Dr.Pinsky (talk) 08:41, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sir/Madam, What's your context here? The article is well sourced and ample WP:RS have been provided. Please read them, if the content is misrepresenting them in any way, discuss the matter at the article's talk page Talk:Sundhi and seek consensus. Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Thanks. Dr.Pinsky (talk) 09:47, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, Dr.Pinsky, and welcome to Women in Red. It's good to hear you intend to help us with our coverage of women historians. Although you have been highly active as an editor, you have not yet created any biographies. You should therefore find it useful to look through our Primer for creating women's biographies. As for historians, you'll find lots of names of interest in our Redlist index, including a Wikidata-based list of historians. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Hello Pinsky, I am not sure about your concerns. First you put OR tag on top article without explaining the reasons for it. Then you are supporting a major content removal, which doesn't fall under WP:REMOVAL, and again without appropriate explanations. I understand there could be a genuine mistake, so I fixed the citations. If you still have concerns, please start discussing on talk page, so that we can find a solution collaboratively. Thank you.Chanchaldm (talk) 01:59, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Random revert?

User:Dr.Pinsky Are you aware what you are doing?

I added the information supported by the sources and removed what isn't supported by the sources.

You are supporting an editor who just got a final warning[1] few hours ago for his disruptive editing and he just had his report rejected against me.[2]

I also resolved the tags that were added by this user and he thanked me on talk page for resolving them.[3]

P.S. this user is violating 3RR on other article too. [4]

I am sure that your revert was completely random, but you should just undo your own edit because it restored the bad version. 106.215.40.96 (talk) 18:31, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I want to AGF, but, this really is a lot. Am I the only one starting to find the sudden appearance of this IP on this very specific article, with this kind of mentality, and so well versed in the WP processes (much more than me, obviously!) a little... fishy? EnlightenmentNow1792 (talk) 18:38, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you wanted to AGF then you wouldn't be dropping 2 baseless warning templates on my talk page. 106.215.40.96 (talk) 18:40, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What's AGF? EnlightenmentNow1792 (talk) 18:53, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@106.215.40.96 @EnlightenmentNow1792, the impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable. All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk page to try to reach consensus, rather than undoing other’s edit. Thanks. Dr.Pinsky (talk) 19:06, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

Hi Dr.Pinsky. After reviewing your request, I have temporarily enabled rollback on your account until 2022-07-25. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Guerillero Parlez Moi 11:22, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wrt Yadav short description

Hi, You recently reverted my short description at Yadav, kindly please suggest what should be the appropriate short desc here. The short desc of Social Community is not right, reason being this word is used by communities after Sanskritisation in late 19th century. This needs to be pointed out. RS6784 (talk) 16:45, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr.Pinsky: please suggest an appropriate short desc fulfilling the article description and other than the social community. RS6784 (talk) 16:55, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not proposing anything. I'm merely stating that, changes made by you was not an improvement. Please refer WP:SDFORMAT and try to discuss with the involved editors. Thanks. Dr.Pinsky (talk) 16:57, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dr.Pinsky:, as per WP:SDFORMAT, it says "be short – no more than about 40 characters (but this can be slightly exceeded if necessary)

The Shortdesc helper gadget displays a character count as the description is changed. be written in plain text – without HTML tags or wiki markup start with a capital letter avoid initial articles (A, An, The) except when required for correct grammar and meaning avoid a final full stop."- I just violated A, An, the"- if I correct this it is fine. This will make it under 40 characters as well. My points is shortdesc must support the article, the issue is Yadav as word has been adopted very recently by many groups ( under 120 yrs), so we can't call it only social community. RS6784 (talk) 17:08, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@RS6784: It should be concise explanation of the scope of the page. Regarding "Sanskritisation in late 19th century", I'm sure this is mentioned in the body of the article. A term used by various communities of India since late 19th century is a less disjointed and confusing than what the article currently has in the "short description". Thanks. Dr.Pinsky (talk) 17:19, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dr.Pinsky: thanks again, I will take your points wholeheartedly here. I am suggesting a shortdesc like either it should be - Social Communities or Social Community formed post-19th century. Yes, the sanskritisation part is mentioned but it must reflect in the short description as the term Yadav is used by many communities since 19th century. It would be helpful if you can also suggest a short description. Thanks and Best RS6784 (talk) 17:27, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@RS6784: I appreciate your patience. Regards. Dr.Pinsky (talk) 17:44, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, may I proceed on of the above suggested short desc? RS6784 (talk) 06:21, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@RS6784: You may proceed. But I'd suggest you to discuss with the involved editors and establish a consensus for this alteration. Dr.Pinsky (talk) 11:04, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sundhi is not a Dalit community in Odisha

Dr.Pinsky, As the original creator of the Sundhi page in 2006, I can definitely say that Sundhi is not a Dalit community in Odisha. If other reference sources say that Sundhi is an OBC caste in Odisha, how can we take into account a source which talks about the Sundhi caste of Odisha and at the same time mentions it as Dalit community. I am not argueing to prove whether the caste is Dalit or not but I can definitely say that it is not a Dalit community in Odisha. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhuvannalla (talkcontribs) 17:45, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Revert on Chitpavan

Hi, I noticed you recently reverted a good-faith edit on the page Chitpavan. I agree that the content should have cited a source, but it seems to me that there is sourced content in the body of the article which says the same thing. In my opinion, it might therefore make sense to leave it in the article with a citation needed tag. Thoughts? --Lenny Marks (talk) 09:37, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Lenny Marks: Thanks for letting me know. Some of the sources do say. Will ask someone better than I. @Fylindfotberserk: would you mind having a look [5]. Thanks. Dr.Pinsky (talk) 10:01, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The link with Israel is mythological and anecdotal. If you see the section Chitpavan#Origin, it says "As per Tudor Parfitt and Yulia Egorova, the Parashurama mythological story of shipwrecked people is similar to the mythological story of the Bene Israel Jews of Raigad district. According to the historian Roshen Dalal, similarities between the legends may be due to a connection between the Chitpavans and the Bene Israel communities. The history of the Bene Israel, who also settled in Konkan, claims that the Chitpavans are also of Jewish origin." . Not leadworthy at all. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:09, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Fylindfotberserk. Hope you are doing well. Dr.Pinsky (talk) 10:13, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

response

@Dr.Pinsky hello. thanks for your advice. also I'm not new, just lost my username & password on bad luck, however appreciate your kindness. basically I'm into expansion for articles,. no doubt. here is a problem which is I expanded the article you can see for yourself in the history cited daily mail etc, the user generalrelative removed them a couple of times based on unreliablity of sources sent me WP policy. I tried to discuss & solve the problem on the user talk page but the user deleted all them either, you can see for yourself. finally I said ok that's unreliable so it's also for guardian & independent etc. wouldn't accept it either. basically user tried to promote page. any neutral intervention appreciate by me Freethinker6799 (talk) 19:21, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Freethinker6799: If you were reverted by a handful of editors, you should start a discussion on the article talk page rather than starting an edit war on the article. Reverting back and forth is going to get you blocked. Please adhere to WP:BRD and focus on the sources and content rather than editors. You may find noticeboards like WP:BLPN, WP:RSN or WP:NPOV useful. If you fail to achieve a consensus, consider starting an RFC or DRN. (cc:Generalrelative). Regards. Dr.Pinsky (talk) 20:13, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dr.pinsky: yes, dear thanks, actually it's not a lot of situations, dispute is on a certain passage.

I'm not into any kind of war, including edit warring, while @Generalrelative prefer to get me blocked instead of discussion. repoted me to notice board for block. that's very telling. I want the page be neutral and scientific. Freethinker6799 (talk) 20:27, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
