:::Hi, I want to explain something. First the correct translation of Spanish "designado presidencial" is "presidential designate" and it is not the title of the acting president, the position of presidential designate is a supplement to the vice president and are nominated by the president and elected by the legislature for the same 5 year term as the president and become acting president if both the president and vice president are absent. I will also update the page on the President of El Salvador. [[User:Belson 303|Belson 303]] ([[User talk:Belson 303|talk]]) 16:38, 22 December 2023 (UTC) |

Owning the page again
I'm afraid @PizzaKing13 is acting again like they own the page. Claudia Rodríguez did not graduate from university. Citation #7 says "estudios en" which means "studies in", that is, she did not complete her degree.

- Last time you deleted the reference and left it unsourced. Thanks for citing it this time! I appreciate it. PizzaKing13 ¡Hablame! 18:22, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Now you reverted another edit again. So which year is it, 1980 or 1981? If unclear, does it really add value?

"Designated president"
As can been seen in the image below, Claudia de Rodríguez is not "designated president". The role she has is unprecedented and actually unclear. It would me misleading to call her "designated president". She is something else. What exactly, we'd have to ask former (or current?) president Bukele.
TanookiKoopa (talk) 22:21, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- "Before being named the designated president of El Salvador, Claudia Juana Rodríguez de Guevara [...]" (VOA)
- "Who is Claudia Juana Rodríguez de Guevara, the interim president of El Salvador [...]" ("Quién es Claudia Juana Rodríguez de Guevara, la presidenta interina de El Salvador [...]") (BBC)
- "The naming of Claudia Juana Rodríguez de Guevara as designated to the presidency [...]" ("El nombramiento de Claudia Juana Rodríguez de Guevara como designada a la presidencia [...]") (CNN en Español)
- "On 30 November, the Legislative Assembly named her the presidential designee [...]" ("El 30 de noviembre la Asamblea Legislativa la nombró designada presidencial [...]") (Infobae)
- "The naming of Rodríguez de Guevara as the presidential designee" ("El nombramiento de Rodríguez de Guevara como Designada presidencial [...]") (El Diario de Hoy)
- "Who is Claudia Juana Rodríguez de Guevara, the presidential designee of El Salvador"Quién es Claudia Juana Rodríguez de Guevara, designada presidencial de El Salvador [...]") (La Prensa Gráfica)
- "The presidential designee Claudia Juana Rodríguez de Guevara [...]" ("La designada presidencial Claudia Juana Rodríguez de Guevara [...]") (El Faro)
- As most sources list her as "presidential designee" or "designated president", the infobox and lead should be one of those. For example, Vladimir Putin is labeled as the "President of Russia", not the "President of the Russian Federation"; Rishi Sunak is labeled as the "Prime Minister of the United Kingdom", not the "Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland"; Nayib Bukele is labeled as the "President of El Salvador", not the "President of the Republic of El Salvador". While not explicitly for infoboxes, this would fall under WP:COMMONNAME and WP:OFFICIAL. PizzaKing13 ¡Hablame! 22:44, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- It's not about using the whole name but the precise one. She's not designated president but "designated by the president" (fancy placeholder one could argue, lol) Pretty important difference.
- I guess we can agree on how you edited it in the article now "presidential designee".
