iPod touch is a portable media player designed and marketed by Apple that was released on September 5, 2007 as part of an event dubbed "The Beat Goes On"[1], which featured the introduction of Cover Flow to the iPod line. It is the 6th model in the iPod line released by Apple. This is the newest model in the iPod line. The iPod Touch uses 8 or 16 gigabyte of flash memory. It also has Wi-Fi and uses Safari, Apple's web browser, to browse the internet. The iPod touch is the first generation of iPods to include wireless access to the iTunes Store.[2] The iPod touch also has a capability to detect the current song playing in a Starbucks within the vicinity of the device, and offers the user the opportunity to download the track.[3]

The iPod touch has a more advanced interface than the older models, but still contains the same listing on the front, and single button home navigation.[citation needed]
