balh How would I make a suggestion for a feature addition to Wikipedia. The idea I in mind is a text to speech option. How would this be done. where is feedback page???

Where did the Geography topic go?
I wanted to request an article with countries with lowest points bellow sea level (such as Dead Sea) but I could not manage to find where to put the request. Somebody please forward this request. Thank you!
Link Update?
"People" in 'Topic: Business and economics' needs to be updated to link to the newly split created Wikipedia:Requested articles/Business and economics/People in business page. Ben K 16:20, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
What area would I request a certain article
I think the website www.usrevolution.org and/or The Scarlet Pimpernel should have a page unfortunately i do not know what section to request it in. It has to do with many subjects within politics and has some very interesting and even possibly outlandish ideas.68.4.61.113 00:53, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
Idea for a bot that might be helpful here
Would it be useful to have a bot that would remove all request links once the articles were made?--Urthogie 19:11, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
- The only problem I see is that sometimes red links turn blue for the wrong reason, because someone creates an article by the same name on a different topic. In that case the request link needs to be modified/disambiguated rather than removed. --Lph 19:47, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with Lph. But I think it would still be extremely useful. If you can make a bot to hunt them out, we could make a project to go through them and then delete it or do what needs to be done. I think doing it manually once we get the list is the only way to do it because people don't always put dashes around things they add, we we would either end up with floating text related to links that aren't aorund or deleting other links we want to keep. Is there a way to make a bot that can compile a list of the redlinks and their info (say, the whole dash to dash entry plus the category) that are blue? And then there's the issue of removing things from the list (see precious topic ^ ^ ^) Avraham 03:32, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- The Mathbot can do that. It created a subpage of redlinks for me once. Also, the Mathbot is capable of removing stuff supplied to it from a seperate list.--Urthogie 12:09, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- Cool, is there a page telling me how to use this bot and where to access it? I know nothing about bots. Avraham 13:56, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- Mathbot is run by User:Oleg Alexandrov. We'd have to ask him to set it up.--Urthogie 14:33, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

- Someone could make a bunch of useless pages and then they'd get deleted and be still gone from the list - I reckon it should only remove something after a certain amount of time --WikiSlasher 07:11, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Bullets or no bullets, dense vs. sparse
Recently User:Reedy Boy went through and converted a number of the request lists from the dense form they have had for a long time to a sparse bulleted format.
Some of the request lists have been bulleted for a while (e.g. Requested_articles/Applied_arts_and_sciences), but most were dense until recently. Personally, I prefer the dense format presentation (easier to glance over a section and less scrolling), but I certainly don't want to edit war over something as silly as RA. I would like to actually discuss having a formatting standard for these pages, and whether people prefer the dense or sparse layout. If the consensus is for the dense format, I volunteer to convert them back. Dragons flight 18:30, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, the reason i did it was that i think it looks better, and also the fact that most of them are in the bulleted format. Reedy Boy 18:37, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Of the 9 primary pages listed on RA, you seem to have converted 7 of them (one of which was immediately reverted), so I'm not sure what "most" you are talking about. Having bullets was the exception rather than the rule before you came along. Dragons flight 18:49, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
I'll jump in here as the person (or one of the people) who switched some pages to the bulleted format several months ago. Although I believe the bulleted format is easier to read, the major motivation was to allow people to add a bit of information on the topic without really making a mess of the list. The Applied arts and sciences page is a good example of how additional info can be added. Having said that, I'm not going to agonize over it either way. One thing for us all to consider is ease of use by those adding items. I'm assuming that most people adding items will be inexperienced users. I'm not sure if this speaks for or against the use of bullets, but I do think it's an important consideration. –RHolton≡– 22:56, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- This RA list now has sub-sections for groups of letters in the alphabet. So the edit summary in my watchlist takes the form /* A-G */ which is not very informative: Which section has the letters A-G ? Recently renamed each subsection with the parent name, or abbreviation => A-G (ABC), H-M (ABC) [for "Architecture, buildings, city planning and public space"]. Any comments —dogears (talk • contribs) 18:02, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Why do articles get deleted?
I wrote a simple definition of 'britpicking', and now i see it was deleted; why would that happen?
Hello Hi I love learning about the Makah Indians And i love this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By Nikki Goldenburgitaman
- Uh, you should check out the Deletion Policy page. It explains everything.
- I disagree, and I think many wiki users misunderstand our Deletion policy. I'd love to see someone try to answer his question succintly :) Mathiastck 11:54, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
The entire content of the britpicking article was:
- Ensuring that Americans use British English when writing fanfics for a story by a british author.
It was deleted by User:Postdlf without reason. Probably because it's a neologism. It's unfortunate that you weren't alerted of the reason. Admins should show more respect when deleting an article. —Pengo 09:35, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Requesting a new topic heading:enviromental pollution
The topic heading "enviromental pollution" only fits uneasily with the other, already present, headings on enviromental and on pollution. Could someone please consider adding that heading to the list of topics?

Don't know where to categorize these...
I don't know if you all noticed, but:
This is NOT the page to request new articles. Please see Requested articles for instructions |
If you have a request you don't know where to categorize, think and search for a related subject that an article already exists for, then put the request in the same category. -- Emana 06:49, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
The topics aren't very clear to me, so I'm just going to post my requests here in hopes that someone else can accurately categorize them. (If anyone adds to this list please try to keep in in alphabetical order)
Atheism in (Country/Culture): It'd be nice to know how people in different countries and cultures react to Atheism.
Bludgeon (weapon): I can't find any place to make a weapons-related request. Anyone care to help?
Budge Wilson: A half-baked Nova Scotian author, but she is an author nonetheless and should have her own article.
B-Pops Crafters: (http://b-pops.com/) You can make imaginary skills/items/quests for the popular MMORPGs Guild Wars and World of Warcraft.
Category- Differences between book and film versions: So far the only existing articles that would fit in this category are for Harry Potter and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but once some more articles are added (HINT HINT) it could prove to be very useful.
Cockentrice: (http://www.godecookery.com/cocken/cocken.htm) A medieval dish that combines a pig and something else.
Diggles or Diggles, the Myth of Fenris: (I'm not sure which title should be used) A PC game where the player controls tribes of dwarf-things. You have to explore underground, fight monsters (and sometimes other Diggles), and find the hell-hound Fenris.
Differences Between Book and Film Versions of _____: They have these articles a few franchises (if you can call them that), and immediately after reading them I decided that similar pages must be done for other books/movies. Can someone at least make a template to start?
Fata Morgana (book): A book about a floating Utopia-esque island by Leo Frankowski (IBSN 978-0671578763)
List of Japanese Learning Resources: Just another red link...
List of Mary Sues: (Possible expansion of the Mary Sue article) Just a list of published characters who are commonly accused of being Mary Sues (ex - Harry Potter, Jean Grey, Aki Ross, Frodo, Arya).
List of Stories Without Happy Endings: Self-explanatory, I should think.
Los Primos Project: (http://www.losprimos.ca/) A project founded by Canadian jazz musician Jeff Goodspeed that connects Canadian and Cuban culture through music. The name means "the cousins", and it sends young Canadian musicians to Cuba and vice versa.
Lullaby (comic): A comic series circling around alternate versions of many faerie tales and classic stories (The Pied Piper, Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood, etc).
Mog Mod: A mod for The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind made by the creators of Mac Hall that makes Moogles a playable race in the game.
Pagan Religious Beliefs: (Possible expansion on the Paganism article) I've heard of people converting to Paganism, but when I looked at the article it listed several religions and I couldn't get a clear idea of exactly what it means to be Pagan.
Patrol 03: An old cartoon about animals in the police force. I remember it vaguely, but Google has failed to come up with any info on it. The best I could get was a page from the distributor's website, but even that doesn't have much to go by.
I was watching that (relatively) recently on Pop. It's got a red reference to it on the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop_%28television_channel%29
Scope Teen Magazine: (http://teacher.scholastic.com/products/classmags/scope.htm) A magazine published by the Scholastic Corporation intended for use in middle-school classrooms.
Shock (psychological): (Possible expansion of Shock, see Talk:Shock)
The Wee Free Men (Film): I understand that not much is known about it, but perhaps it could be made as we learn more.
Cutline
Should this maybe made a redirect to caption? Happily ever after 15:45, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
- The caption page is a disambiguation page, so just redirecting cutline to there won't be very helpful in finding out what it is. Seeing that captions to pictures does not have a Wikipedia entry, it is advisable to start a Caption (labels) article and explain what a caption AND a cutline is, then have cutline redirect to captions. -- Emana 18:01, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Misdirection
The link under 'Cultural Models' in Social Sciences and Philosophy directs toward Cognitive Anthropology instead of Cultural Models. Just thought I'd note. 84.104.172.20 00:16, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Unsure What It is
An article for Pig Launcher is needed, but I haven't the slightest idea as to what a Pig Launcher is. It does exist as a company is trying to install a Pig Launcher near my house, and it is currently dividing my neighborhood in two over who has more rights to common ground. Zidel333 01:32, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Found some info here. Just enough to tell it has something to do with pipes. The article does not explain what a pig is in this context. There were other references on goggle as well nothing seems to explain what exactly it does.Phatom87 23:21, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Splitting into more pages
Some subpages, like Cultures&Arts are getting extremely long (257 kB, more than 100 screens to scroll through), which makes them difficult to navigate and difficult edit. I will split some of them into sections in a few days, if nobody disagrees. Cheers! Peter S. 14:20, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
I request we make it easer to request articles
It is much too difficult to request articles. Have any alternative methods of article creation been suggested, that are allowed by wikipedia policy? Mathiastck 11:52, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- How about methods that aren't within current policy? Mathiastck 11:44, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- I wanted to request an article for wikipedia, and found my way to this page, but I cant make any sense out of it. The intro says this is the page to request articles - really? Where do I put in my request? What the hell are all these lists? It doesn't make sense to me. It also says, "you may be looking for this page" - could it atleast tell me what that page is, and how its related to requesting articles? (it isn't at all, by the way). Where do the request go?! - anon 20th June 2007 (PST)
my "request list"
I agree with Mathiastck above. It should be easier. And as it's such a pita to request articles here, i've just been making my own list of missing articles, which i've been hoarding jealously like the Collyer brothers with their pianos. —Pengo 09:28, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Where to put historic US Federal regulatory programs?
I was surprised to find no article on the "Emergency Building Temperature Restrictions," a set of building temperature regulations promulgated by the Carter administration in the late 1980's. They were rescinded early in the Reagan administration, and were of questionable benefit (there is some academic lierature on this), but were quite an expensive regulatory load on businesses during the years they were in effect. Where would this sort of thing go in Wikipedia? N2e 23:46, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- Can anyone who monitors this page help with this question? The request is not for a new article, but rather for help in figuring out the category or categories such an article might go into. Or even a pointer to some other similar article about a US Federal government regulatory regime that had a notable impact on business, consumers or state/local governments. Thanks. i was surprised theres no arcticle discussing the sam bronfman kidnapping?
Thismightbezach 06:34, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- Such a request is unlikely to succeed due to problems with the attribution family of policies and the notability guidelines. If you can find major press coverage about, for instance, Internet service providers blocking Encyclopedia Dramatica, then that could be considered a reliable source. However, I do not think any reliable sources currently exist. At any rate, the page for requesting restoration of a deleted article is Deletion review, not here. 70.176.124.200 22:07, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
How can I find or create a Harry Potter Wiki, like Wookiepedia but about Harry Potter?
Yeah, this is a request I have. I really like Wookiepedia, and was hoping to maybe make or find a Harry Potter equivilant of that site. Could you guys do that, PLEASE!?? User:kongiskingKongisking 20:05, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Locating categories for article requests
I am currently considering requests for articles on possibly two companies. I found that Natural Wonder Cosmetics, unwritten as of 7 May 2007, may mean two articles. I already know about the Revlon subsidiary brand, but I ran across information about an alien corporation of the same name in India. The article(s) needed would classify as Business or Applied arts and sciences, but I could not find a subcategory (linked from the main Requested articles page) particularly appropriate to a requested Cosmetics/Perfumery article. Any suggestions? - B.C.Schmerker 14:05, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Cleanup
I find that some requests are complete nonsense or inappropriately categorized. But when I try to take appropriate actions, the rubbish ends up right back where it was. Is there a "Request for Removing Requests" method?
As an example, what does "Safe Slots" have to do with Astronomy in the Wikipedia:Requested_articles/Natural_sciences#Astronomy_and_cosmology section? A search of google makes it appear more appropriate for gambling. I see nothing relevant to astronomy. Thanks. — RJH (talk) 18:06, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

I need a fairly big re-organiztion to ...
The WikiProject Mathematics people are territorial about their "mathematical logic." In their view its just totally not logic or philosophy so they insist that it be separate. At some point I am intending to make a way for the people who reach logic through philosophy have equal access. I am proposing that philosophy be taken out of "social sciences and philosophy" and put under humanities and culture. I need a way to make a transclusion from that section to the requested articles/logic section. It wont work under the current scheme (#Logic). Alternatively, maybe someone could come to my aid in the whole math v phil battle over mathematical logic.Gregbard 03:51, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Falsely accused category
like for murderers who aren't actually murderers and get released, or any trail with considerable doubt or controversy surrounding the Jury decision, a perfect example would be the two Philly mafia who just got released because of the FBI getting forced to admit to their framings in their attempts to plant a mole in the organizations frameworks, on their release they were given like 200,000 dollars US for every year they were in jail..anyways that was recent. through the years i am sure there are many cases especially the ones we have documented here already that can be put in this category, if not just a link or a bot that will direct one to a page with a list of said cases, and their controversial natures.
another good example is Marty tankleff, the son of a prominent man whose wife was killed and the trial and interogation and arrest all have the earmarkings of the classic railroad and frame paid Hit, there are endless other examples i could name off, however we should try and compile what we have here in this nature first, before we add new things.
interested in any of those things i spoke about look here and here.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-07-26-wrongful-conviction_N.htm
http://www.truthinjustice.org/tankleff.htm
there are many cases where the primary defendant has claimed to be the subject of an elaborate railroad job by a hired killer and paid off officials, to name them all would be impossible and worthless, as most of these men were in fact guilty, liars, however, as is everything, enough times, and you will get a result, there are 10 cases off the top of my head in the US alone that are defintly in my opinion frame jobs, and innocent men and women rot in jail because of it...be it by the mob, the fed, the man, the judge owned by the cartel, or the official killers who have badges but no address.
we should add this category as it is not only interesting, but should be considered an aspect of the justice system, mainly when it fails.
