"''but the robot slaps his hand away and gives himself up stating "There is only one Sonic" (supposedly he was referring to himself)''"

I was under the impression that Metal Sonic was willing to fall into the lava because he had come to terms with the fact that he was not the "real Sonic", my understanding for this is basically if he still thought of himself as the origonal why would he just let the copy live? Unamed SA robot

This is mainly speculation but in the archie comics SA2 special right after Shadow stole the Chaos emerald from station square,he was atacked by a robot Sonic that Highly resembeld the Robot Sonic in SA.I think he was called Silver Sonic II But I can't remember. If anyone still has that isuue please look it up.

What's going on? I just fixed up the article and it's not showing! Grandmastergalvatron 19:26, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Erm, I think something is odd here, doesn't Sonic CD happen before Sonic 2? >_>? Phred Levi

I'm not sure, but I do know Sonic CD was released after Sonic 2. I think it's possible that it could go either way in the storyline, therefore I think we should just go with release dates. --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 20:29, Sep 16, 2004 (UTC)
Sonic 2 was originally supposed to be the time-travel game, but that eventually got cut. Sonic CD probably came as the result of Sega still wanting to use the idea. I mean, it makes sense, right? By my best guess, SCD was conceived when S2 was already underway. - Vague | Rant 10:44, Dec 20, 2004 (UTC)

Theres a lot wrong here, mostly involving naming and continuity. Technically SonicCD happened just after Sonic2, since Sonic2's Silver Sonic was scrapped (you can see it in Sonic Adventure in Eggman's ship) and replaced with Metal Sonic, who was of course promptly defeated (also visible in SA). Then in Sonic3&K the new Mecha sonic is introduced and later uses the Master Emerald's power during the fight with knuckles. As for sonic heroes... i refuse to accept that trash as a part of the storyline. Superslash 10:47pm, Mar 25, 2005 (EST)

Okay. Be bold and try fixing it, and give your sources, yeah? :)
Also, while I agree with you that Sonic Heroes is a piece of junk, we still need to report it and Metal's involvement. It doesn't make sense in the storyline to me, either, but it is an official game, and so we have to acknowledge it in the Wikipedia. --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 04:34, Mar 26, 2005 (UTC)

Stop writing that the robotic Sonic in S2 and S&K are two diffrent robots. They are the same one, Sonic Jam states this!

I have now writen that the robot in S2 is called Silver Sonic but that i Japan he is known as Mecha Sonic. I have also writen that the robot in S&K is the same one as from S2, but upgraded (and remember, this information comes straight from the Jap version of Sonic Jam) and that this later version if usually refered to as Mecha Sonic even by non-Japanese fans.

So for god sake, lets stop editing this page! It is perfect as it is now.

Nothing on Wikipedia is perfect. That's the whole point behind the "anybody can edit it" aspect - if somebody sees something wrong or that could be added, they can add it. Obviously, your idea of "perfect" seems to be highly debatable, which is why this edit war's going on here and over at Doctor Eggman. Can't we just accept the fact that there aren't definite names for the robots? Because, really, there aren't, except for the Metal Sonic model from Sonic CD. --Shadow Hog 11:23, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Someone apears to have erased those nice Archie pictures from this page, so i put them back. And i also made just the sliiiightest editing on the Mecha/Silver Sonic section (but dont worry, it still recognises both names, so there is no need for anyone to get uppset and change it )

Sonic CD was started before Sonic 2 and was originally planned to be the sequal to Sonic the Hedgehog. Many things suggest this: same graphics as Sonic the Hedgehog, no Tails in the levels, "prototype" spindash, "See you next game" picture of Tails. As for the names of the Sonic robots, only Metal Sonic and Rocket Metal (from Sonic the Fighters) have official names. All the robots are a "Mecha" Sonic (which merely means mechanical Sonic). These are the facts. - "Tails Ohki" from GameFAQs

I understand Sonic Heroes perfectly. Unfortunetly for it, it was just to hold us over until a Sonic Adventure 3 came out, or Shadow the hedgehog. It didn't last and it wasn't very fun... I only beat it to see Metal Sonic's new, and cool form.

Why does everyone keep saying Sonic CD happens BEFORE Sonic 2 just because tails isn't in the game? Does anyone have any indication in which game they first met and if they do, can they detail the times in which these games occur? Neofcon

I'm fairly certain that Sonic CD happens AFTER Sonic the Hedgehog 2... And hence, even after Sonic 3 & Knuckles. One, Tails does indeed appear twice as a cameo, once in the Tornado no less. Secondly, Metal Sonic. He's the perfect Sonic robot. Why would Eggman make weaker robots after him? 208.101.136.228 23:44, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unnamed Villains

That "robotic Sonic" which appears during StH2 isn´t simply the so called Mecha Sonic, and the one which appears during S&K the Eggrobot?

Tonyjeff 09:00, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It was stated in the Japanese version of Sonic Jam that the robot Sonic in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is called Mecha Sonic, and so is the robot in Sonic & Knuckles. And since it was stated within a game, it is official.

But, since the Mecha means machine or mechanical, it's not the real name of the robot itself. - "Tails Ohki" from GameFAQs

What happend to the "personality" section!? Someone just deleated the whole thing! Now im gonna have to try to rewrite it the way i remember it... AND DONT DELEAT IT AGIN!!!

Ops! never mind. Someone just made the personality section even better. Hehe... Sorry.

Someone likes to name the robot at the end of Chaotix. It was never shown to have a name.  ::sighs:: It was never shown to be Metal Sonic either... >_> - "Tails Ohki" from GameFAQs.

Come on. It looks like Metal Sonic, for the most part. It shows up right after you defeat Metal and a little cutscene showing Eggman doing something with Metal. Is it really that big a stretch to say that it is Metal? I say not. --Shadow Hog 00:17, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is. Until I see either documented proof from SEGA/Sonic Team/whoever made it saying they are the same or I see a scene from the game itself showing Metal Sonic transforming into it, then it ain't the same robot. All that happens is that Eggman and Metal fly off. That's it. - "Tails Ohki" from GameFAQs.

Silver Sonic (8bit) is definitely not Metal Sonic because Silver Sonic was all gray in S2(8bit). (The pic of Silver Sonic is wrong BTW.) However S2(16bit)'s and S3&K's Metal Sonics look too close to Metal Sonic in CD and Heroes to just be a coincidence. (Also "Metal" and "Mecha" from kanji can translate to the same thing.) It is therefore entirely possible that their name has since been retconned to be "Metal Sonic", like Amy's age was in Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes, since Sonic Team has not refrerred to Mecha Sonic in over 10 years. --DavidHOzAu 00:10, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sonic Team also never brought them back in over 10 years in a new adventure or even referring to them at all. Therefore, that point is moot. - "Tails Ohki" from GameFAQs.

Picture

Shouldn't we move the pre-Metal Madness picture to the top? And the SA2 picture could go to where the pre-Metal Madness picture was originally. Cause the pre-Metal Madness picture is the most recent game. --anon

if you want to change it, feel free to. However, i think its fine as it is. After all, he did transform back to his original self at the end.

But we don't have a picture of Metal Sonic as himself in Sonic Heroes. --anon

Then add one. Thats what Wikipedia is about after all!

Shoudn't someone change that pic to a newer one. Like his SA2 picture, that's newer...

Maybe someone should make a picture of him with that 3-D picture making program (Blender, i think)

"Un-named" robot

Okay, I'm sick of discussing this in edits, so I brought it here. First off, I now agree that the robot's name is not Silver Sonic. I still, however, stand by the fact that it IS the robot from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which is called Mecha Sonic.

There are no names for any of the Sonic robots except for Metal Sonic and Rocket Metal. Japan refers to all the robots as mecha Sonic, but only because they are mechanical. It's not a name. It's a description. "Tails Ohki" from GameFAQs.

Why can't we just call them all "Metal Sonic"? 24.196.6.150 16:26, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because Metal is a specific Sonic robot. --Sparky Lurkdragon 21:23, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you think about it, since English version of Sonic 2 for Game Gear was released first, Silver Sonic is perfectly valid.

Image

Most wiki articles, the starting picture of the article normally have a white background. This blends with Wiki's background and makes the article more readable and professional.

I saw, we have 2 sets of pictures for Metal Sonic, both identical. The main & starting of Metal Sonic, as a blackground, while the other picture as a white background.

I am thinking we should exchange/ switch both images. The main image will be the "Metal Sonic from Sonic CD" and the later pictures of Metal sonic will feature "Metal Sonic from Sonic Adventure 2: Battle".

>x<ino 01:38, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've reuploaded the same image from the same URL. For some reason, whoever uploaded it did so with that black background. -- RattleMan 01:53, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It has the black background because the white one makes the image's outline look bitty and jagged. --DrBat 02:19, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't matter, as long as it blends with wiki's background
>x<ino 02:21, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I made the CD image the first one. Is it ok now? --DrBat 02:23, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a link to the normal picture. [1], this also looks jagged a little bit, but the other one seems to be edited by someone.

>x<ino 02:25, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The previous image came from the official site. The only difference between the two (as far as I can see), is that the previous one is larger.
Since the first image now has a clear background, can we keep the one with the black bg down the page? --DrBat 02:31, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest, I noticed the jagged black outlines on the images as well, but thought that it looked good enough. I still say using that black-background image looks tacky, but whatever. -- RattleMan 02:51, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In the Metal Madness and Metal Overlord section, the image is covering some of the text, and so is one of the edit buttons. --87.254.65.134 06:11, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hey doe's anyone do this when you copy and paste an image it arther terns black at the back (not that anoying) or its got multiple-unoticeable shades of white so when your makeing a poster with the sonic team in it you have to spend ages colouring it in, doe's it ony anyone else? espio's da man

Animated GIFs

The animated GIFs in the section "Other Sonic robots" need to be replaced with static images or removed completely. The animations add nothing to the article content and are distracting. - furrykef (Talk at me) 22:09, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Metal Sonic's liqiud metal abilities...

"He manages to achieve this through the use of Chocola, since Chao have a distinct connection to Chaos, the water monster from Sonic Adventure, and Froggy, who periodically had Chaos' tail in Sonic Adventure."

That's nice, but impossible. Why? Because we clearly see Metal Sonic shapeshifting (much less appearing as Robotnik) BEFORE Team Rose's ending, where he states that the data was copied. So unless he has a time machine, this isn't the explanation.

I've noticed that too. Either he had the ability beforehand, or copied that ability as soon as he got his hands on Chocola and Froggy, just needing more time to absorb the rest of Chaos' data. 83.252.141.112 14:38, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Um can I just say that I have three explanations. 1) Metal Sonic might have mercury inside him, mercury being a room temprature liquid but then again not his whole body is mercury then that is screwd. 2) Metal Sonic can change his sate (solid liquid gass) 3) Metal Sonic can heat up his body and freeze it again.

Remember these are ideas not facts.

Uh...guys, in a universe where supersonic blue hedgehogs, planet-destroying energy cannons, and IQs of 300 are an everyday sight, how a robot can become liquid is the least of our worries. We don't need a solid explanation. RememberMe? 22:37, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sonic the Fighters

Confused as to why the article says Metal is the last boss and Eggman is just a bonus. I've completed the game several times and it seems pretty clear that Eggman is the final boss, since you need to beat him to get the ending. Metal is pretty tough but he's more of a guardian who uses all the players moves and if you can beat him you get a 30 second shot at Eggman. It's not like you have to complete the game X number of times to reach Eggman.--HellCat86 16:38, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Metal's not the last boss...I don't know hwy they would say such a thing...of course, they also insist on listing "RocketMetal" as a different robot when it's obviously Metal Sonic in a rocket suit XDGrandMasterGalvatron 16:47, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In addition, would it be wrong to assume in-story that he uses all the other's moves due to his ability to capture life data? I was going to add it but I don't believe any source for Fighters flat out says it.--HellCat86 17:15, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Since we didn't know about his data capture back then...that qualifies as original research :/. But it's probably the truth anyways. GrandMasterGalvatron 18:45, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I think the Japanese Sonic CD mannual mentioned it. Western media just went with "Robotnik builds a robot Sonic", whilst Japan provided a better reason he'd be a threat.--HellCat86 19:11, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know where to find that, so I'll look it up and if it's there then we can post it. :)GrandMasterGalvatron 19:18, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Neo Metal Sonic

So we finally have a name for Metal Sonic's heroes form. Should the Heroes info be given it's own section with that name?GrandMasterGalvatron 18:21, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where did you get that info?

Appearance in Rivals

So...is Metal's resurface in Rivals explained, or is it another one of those "Unanswered Sonic Mysteries"? DeathGodDragon EDGE 01:22, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ummmm....anyone there? ChromeWulf ZX 20:47, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think he's working for Nega, but that may be original research. --Luigifan 19:48, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well... It's known now that Eggman made Metal Sonic obedient again right after Sonic Heroes, but Eggman Nega says that he modified Metal Sonic in the game ("this model..."). Metal Sonic is obviously aware he is serving Nega. Of course, it may not be the real Metal Sonic but rather a "Metal Sonic 2.0", but that's just speculation (though it'd make sense with "3.0" in Rivals 2). 208.101.140.232 21:20, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Voice in SA2 = NO /What I'm made of = NO

Son of a gun..I swear..some of you lot serve no use but causing lame ass edit wars. Why don't you try IMPROVING THE ARTICLES WITH CITATIONS AND THE LIKE >>

In any case, I'm going to settle both of these issues right now. First off, Metal has no vocals of his own in any game other Heroes. What you hear in SA2 is Shadow the Hedgehog. Metal is very much an extensive Shadow retool (just like the DC version), just like Amy's a Sonic retool. If you notice, that line is exactly what Shadow says at an altar if he has no Mystic Melody. Metal Sonic was never supposed to see an altar, therefore, no vocals were put in. If you go there with Amy, you're going to hear SONIC.

How do we know he's a Shadow retool? For starters, that's what he was in the DC version. Also, Metal and Shadow have the same idle poses (though Metal's are edited to prevent clipping). Also, if you use the AR and find an Extra Life, you will see it has Shadow's Icon. This is because Metal was never supposed to see an item box, therefore it was not needed. Also, lets mention that Shadow is overwritten with the "Alternate character models" enable code..just like the DC version.

Don't put that nonsense back on the page again. It has no merit on it's own anyway.

Now about this song, the entire debate is one of OPINION. It is for that reason alone that it doesn't belong here. Also since it's all opinion, you can read this lovely analysis. Either way, it doesn't belong here.

Oh, and Youtube links are a definite NO because 99% of them are copyvios.GrandMasterGalvatron 23:20, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What is your problem? I am trying to be reasonable here, furthermore the link you gave me is simply someone's personal view, and the lyrics can be interpreted a number of ways, currently the regular Joe shmoe would interpret it as Metal's theme, but currently who the theme is for is ENTIRELY speculative, it doesn't belong on either Metal's or Sonic's or Super Sonic's page until something has been confirmed, END. OF. THE. FREAKING. STORY. BassxForte 00:23, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's nothing I hate more thing retards who pull that "End of the story" bullshit because that's exactly what it is. You are incapable of describing what the "regular Joe" thinks. Also, thanks for restating what I just said. NEXT TIME READ. It's fine the way it was. KEEP THAT SLAG OFF THE PAGE UNLESS YOU HAVE A CITATION.GrandMasterGalvatron 00:32, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, GMG I see your point, but you don't haveta flat-out destroy him. BassxForte, it is unknown whose song What I'm Made Of is. Here are some reasons favoring Metal, and some reasons favoring Sonic:

Metal:
1. Failed to beat Sonic
2. Copied everyone's data in order to have a edge against Sonic
3. Has an insane desire to prove he is the real Sonic

Sonic:
The only thing I can think of is that during the battle with Metal Overlord, after Metal uses Chaos Control, Sonic says "Let's show him what we're made of!"

The lyrics don't really help as they could go either way with Metal and Sonic. So, there you go. And guys, please, in a respectful tone. No personal attacks. ChromeWulf ZX 02:15, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not making personal attacks, but simply trying to improve this page to the best of my abilities, but it should be said that all current information points towards the "What I'm Made Of" song describing Metal, of course since it is not yet official a note should be put on about that, and ChromeWulf ZX, he didn't have "everyone's" data, he only had Sonic's, Shadow's, and Chaos's data, he MIGHT of had Knuckles's and Tails's data but in the scene where he takes Sonic's data he just says "All life form data... has been copied!" which does not actually mean he took Knuckles's and Tails's. (Final note, there isn't anything wrong with using the "end of story" strategy Galvatron. Please, no more personal attacks Galvatron, you make it seem like this is a life-or-death situation. BassxForte 04:19, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heh..you just caught me at a bad time. I put up with a lot a slag from this fandom and I'm ending it now. Case in point, the entire thing is an opinion, as such it doesn't belong on the page. If you ask me, the data is leaning towards Team Super. There's really nothing at all pointing to Metal. If you want a theme for him, look no further than the "Virtual Sonic" CD. In any case, the sitch is quite trivial. A note is on the super page saying the song describes the fight. That's all there needs to be. Nothing else is landing here without a citation.GrandMasterGalvatron 05:57, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There was never really a point on turning this into an argument, and for the record, the reason I put up evidence against my idea is that I often look at both sides of an argument, not just on wikipedia but EVERYWHERE, and a warning, don't put entire sentences in all capital letters, it just makes you look immature.

No..it makes me look angry..which I was. :PGrandMasterGalvatron 17:51, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see... I won't put the thing about the theme song or Metal's apparent use of Shadow's voice back up unless I can find credible evidence that they belong on this page. BassxForte 18:20, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

it's nothing against you ^^. I've dealt with loads of crap from here and elsewhere. Check out the Super transformation talk page XDGrandMasterGalvatron 18:23, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ha ha... I checked the talk page for super transformations out, way too many people who try to upload crap, people need to remain calm and listen to both sides of an argument before going nuts like that. BassxForte 21:54, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is more of a technicality but actually, yes, Metal did have everyone's data. After beating the Egg Albatross w/ Team Sonic, Metal pops up and says "All lifeform data...copied." Also, when fighting Metal Madness w/ Team Chaotix Metal says "You all are useless now that I've copied all of your data." (It's true, I just played Heroes an hour ago). Just sayin' ChromeWulf ZX 03:39, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hmmm... I went back, Metal does say that when the Chaotix are fighting him but, I went back and went through the team Chaotix story, I don't see anything besides the quote you mentioned that implies he took the Chaotix's data. BassxForte 21:56, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In TC's ending the fake Eggman starts melting. The general assumption was that Metal had copied their data. (It's the same in the other stories). Also, look at MO's tail.GrandMasterGalvatron 23:12, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And don't forget: right before the battle with MM, Eggman says, "He's combined all of your data with the power of Chaos...." Not that is entire discussion is necessary. ChromeWulf ZX 18:21, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose I can buy that... however despite Eggman's quote I don't think he copied Team Rose's data, in fact, TR's ending clearly states he took Chaos's data, not Team Rose's. BassxForte 18:23, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But why wouldn't he copy TR's data. He was out to get them all. XDGrandMasterGalvatron 22:31, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see a reason beyond Eggman's quote that suggests he took TR's data, the last time Metal and Amy met in the game canon Amy was Metal's helpless prisoner in "Sonic CD", so I doubt Metal thought her data was really worth taking. BassxForte 20:14, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Meta's not the type to pick favorites...at least not from what I've seen. He was also extremely self confident. If he didn't copy their data, he would have bragged about it XD. Ah well...what can you do.GrandMasterGalvatron 20:15, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Metal probably doesn't have a high enough opinion of Amy to bother with her data, the only Eggman robots that Amy has destroyed were relatively minor, with the single exception of the phi's from "Sonic Battle". BassxForte 22:40, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Still, is this (part of the) discussion even really necessary? All that matters, is that Metal copied at least Sonic and Shad's data. Anything else, whether true or not, isn't meaningful. Nor will it probably even be emphasized again by Sonic Team in upcoming games. ChromeWulf ZX 03:47, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose not, but you know people are gonna add it.GrandMasterGalvatron 18:50, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can say without a ting of doubt that the song describes Metal, but since SEGA has yet to say that offically I guess I got nuthin'. BassxForte 01:32, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can tell he didn't copy the data of Team Rose, Team Chaotix, or Rouge and Omega. Why? Because he would have said so. Like when he copied Team Sonic's data he said "All life form data successfully copied." When he copied Shadow's data he said "Ultimate Life Form data successfully copied." When he copied Chaos's data he said "Chaos data has been copied." He didn't make a reference to any other characters during their story. Besides, Metal's a crazy bot out for revenge. He'd probably just copy the data of the best to prove his superiority. After all, Chaos is a god, Sonic is well known as the "fastest thing alive", Shadow's the "Ultimate Life Form", Tails is an eight-year old yet is probably the smartest character there (and he can fly), and Knuckles is the guardian of the Master Emerald and is probably the strongest character on the series (last time I checked, nobody else has been said to be as strong as Sonic is fast). If that's not enough, in his Metal Madness and Overlord forms, he was only seen using abilities belonging to characters who we can GUARANTEE he copied data off of. He had to be pretty dang fast to keep ahead of Super Sonic, he was picking up flipping BATTLESHIPS, using Chaos Control, and his Overlord form looked like Perfect Chaos. The only one who he wasn't seen using the abilities of is Tails, but he did copy Tails' data alongside Sonic and Knuckles. The other references... I don't know, he might have meant he had copied the data of anyone he considered a threat or something.MegaWhatt 17:54, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The final battle with Team Super Sonic was aerial, so Metal had to fly like Tails (an ability he kinda already possessed but still). Cigraphix 18:33, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this continuing? This conversation was over months ago. BassxForte 19:57, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chaotix information

I managed to stumble across this Japanese Chaotix manual page with some stuff about Metal. So I'm just wondering... Does anyone know how to read Japanese? It may or may not have some fun information. Gurko 20:52, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

is he?

Hmmm...it says that he is siblings with the E-Series and other Badniks, but I leaning towards "no." ChromeWulf ZX 23:09, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think any official source has ever stated him to be so... Plus, he was created before Adventure, which introduced the concept of the E-Series. Gurko 19:19, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It says "many fans note similarites" for Metal and the villan of the PS3 Sonic Game, can someone get a referance for that? Oh, and, forums are NOT reliable referances. BassxForte 06:40, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just remove it. It's uncited fancruft anyway XDGrandMasterGalvatron 19:09, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Golden Metal Sonic?

to the editor who added the Golden Metal statements please provide proof (such as maybe the Action Replay code or maybe a link to a page with the code other wise plase take it down.

Sure, but what form should it be in? --Coconutfred73 23:00, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

At long last Metal Sonic is on Sonic Channel!

Complete with picture in new Sonic style, and it looks like they gave him some hips to attach his legs to (as opposed to how they originally just popped out of the underside of his body). Now I ran his bio thru Google translate and it seemed to say at the end that Metal is once again submissive to Eggman. [2] Cigraphix 05:48, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

... We need a real, natural translator. Language tools are too vague. I thought Metal Sonic acted alone since Sonic Heroes (he even helped Eggman Nega, so this makes no sense). 208.101.136.228 23:48, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We actually got a natural translator to translate all the bios a while back. She happened to have gotten this one on the day it came out. Hold on, let me go find his.

Metal Sonic

Name : Metaru Sonikku
English name : Metal Sonic
Nickname : Metaru Sonikku
Height : 100 cm
Weight : 125.2 kg
Special Skills : Black shield (barrier), Overdrive (hyper-acceleration)
Characteristic : Improvements added constantly.

This high-performance robot was created by Dr. Eggman to be opposition for Sonic. It was created to not only imitate Sonic's appearance, but surpass the original in both speed and power and be inferior in neither. Once, the ego contained in its high-powered AI chip reshaped its own body, planning to control and use Eggman's army, but was prevented by Sonic and his friends. After that, it was returned to its place as an obedient battle mech, by Dr. Eggman's hand.

There ya be.GrandMasterGalvatron 03:52, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

... Ah. So then, I guess it's fair to say that Metal Sonic was fooled by Eggman Nega? 208.101.136.228 02:28, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that's fair. After all, Nega did have that Eggman disguise.GrandMasterGalvatron 02:54, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's still speculation any way you look at it. For now it should remain "It is unknwon why Metal is working with Nega". BassxForte 04:07, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Super Mario Bros Z

Shouldn't there be mention of the Sonic 3 & Knuckles robot's ("Mecha Sonic") appearance in SMBZ? I edited it, and I'm currently making a topic for it, but someone deleted it. Davidk92

No there should not. It is not backed by Sega or Sonic Team or even anyone with a link to them and therefore not official. Wikipedia does not list unofficial fan created sources that are not so ridiculously important that they are recongized in like the news or something. Cigraphix 20:58, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also if it was important enough to make the news but still wasn't backed by Sega/Sonic Team it probably would not be listed in this artcle - it would probably be in some other article. Cigraphix 21:02, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see. It was becuase I've seen articles for other fanworks, and I thought I should mention something as popular as SMBZ. Should I continue making the article for it?Davidk92
I don't know, I probably would never have heard of SMBZ if I wasn't already a Sonic/Mario fan, so it might not be worthy of it. I've heard stories of fanwork articles like this being deleted. Try looking it up in Wikipedia guidelines or ask an admin. Here's a good start: Wikipedia:FAQ and Wikipedia:Help_desk Cigraphix 22:08, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Brotherhood of Metallix

Just to make a suggestion, would it be astute to place the Brotherhood of Metallix in their own page? They were functionally the main villains of the Sonic the Comic series for a length of time, and they played a very important part in the story.

Captain Smeg 20:06, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They were based on Meal Sonic, so they should only get a section on the Metal Sonic page, especially since they were just a villian in one comic series, so there not really all that notable when you compare all of the Sonic series'. BassxForte 20:22, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Silver Sonic II

The name of the Un-named Sonic robot from Sonic Adventure being Silver Sonic is very pobably not true, the comic version may be based on the design found in the game and this is causing confusion as the robot seen in the game has no connection to anything created in the comics, and all this confusion is probably coming from the comic version, I think a lot to do with the Sonic based comics and the Sonc games needs to be seperated, as it's all bleeding into one confusing mess, and all the 'worlds' (games/comic/tv shows) arn't the same place...  Doktor  Wilhelm ' 03:54, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Mechasonic4.jpg

Image:Mechasonic4.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Final boss in Knuckles Chaotix

Does anyone agree with me that the end boss of knuckles chaotix look a lot like the leader of the brotherhood of metalix? While obviously there is no proof should it be listed as a possibility? --Cobsterjh (talk) 10:01, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In colour maybe, anything else than no!  Doktor  Wilhelm  13:23, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
fair enough, it's mainly from memory, I haven't played that game in ages --Cobsterjh (talk) 04:50, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Death in the Movie

"but the robot slaps his hand away and gives himself up stating "There is only one Sonic" (supposedly he was referring to himself)"

I was under the impression that Metal Sonic was willing to fall into the lava because he had come to terms with the fact that he was not the "real Sonic", my understanding for this is basically if he still thought of himself as the origonal why would he just let the copy live? 86.161.239.251 (talk) 20:12, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
