The 2008 Seattle Mariners season is the 32nd in the team's history, as they attempt to get to the playoffs, after failing to reach the wild card last year.

Manager John McLaren was fired on June 20 after a poor start to the season, to be replaced by Jim Riggleman. McLaren left with a 25-47 (.350) record for the season, and 68-88 (.435) total during his time at the Mariners. Riggleman's managerial record at the Mariners currently stands at 12-11 (.522).
