Updated DYK query On July 7, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Zanthoxylum americanum, which you created or substantially expanded. Hey there. I've noticed the discussion at Casliber's page and wanted to point out two quick things: Roughly, plant articles are written in a style more akin ton in-depth, a but non-technical field guide, hence why we don't usually put authorities in the body text of the article (lists are a different issue, though). Another point is that the discussion regarding the ordering of sections is a bit moot as the generally agreed section order for a basic article is description→taxonomy→distribution + habitat→other sections as appropriate (the detailed breakdown is here, but don't take it to heart too much. Only a few article will have even 2/3 of those sections.) Circeus (talk) 15:39, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. This was my first botanical article creation, but I enjoyed doing it, and will probably try my hand at some more; feedback and information like this helps! LadyofShalott 15:44, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Boo hiss

To you and all the other ageist voters. And I say that as someone who often opposes based on maturity issues. We should treat people as individuals and judge them on their merits. I also blame you for the torment I'm now experiencing over the George Li AfD which could have been avoided by a short painless speedy approval. Tsk tsk tsk. I hope you have a great weekend. It looks like I'm moving to your area since Drmies hasn't made me feel welcome in his. ChildofMidnight (talk) 21:13, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your point about treating people as individuals is well taken. I don't think I can accept the blame for the George Li thing... and what torment anyway? :p I hope things go well for you wherever you may move, and that you are also having a good weekend! LadyofShalott 18:24, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've been waiting for your next plant article... what's the hold-up? ChildofMidnight (talk) 06:38, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm waiting for a pig-related article. Oink. APK that's not my name 08:01, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's a lovely photo. Feel free to sign up for the 2010 bacon challenge. I think it will kick off late fall or winter, but I guess we could do another push this year. I thought maybe a break was needed. But there seems to be substantial interest, so maybe we should get muddy this fall? There's too much other stuff going on in the summer I think. But demand does seem high for more bacon, and I know Shallots was very disappointed she didn't get to do a bacon article last time around. ChildofMidnight (talk) 06:45, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've begun an expansion of the stub Ilex decidua. It looks like lots of Category:Ilex articles are one-sentence stubs that need work. LadyofShalott 16:31, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Deleted Page

Could you send me the deleted page, Diedre Wachbrit Braverman? I would like to work on it some more and resubmit it in the future. Thank you. 04:23, 12 July 2009 (UTC) DRegina —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dregina (talkcontribs)

Done: You can find it at User:Dregina/Diedre Wachbrit Braverman. :) LadyofShalott 04:30, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apocalypse Image

I could see a few problems with it, potentially. Unfortunately, Christian eschatology is not my strongest suit, so I may myself be far less than the best judge of it, and might even be myself mistaken. I would think that the Christianity project would be the better place to raise the issue, because it's a bit more active so far as I can tell (I may be prejudiced there, of course) and the subject seems to me to be, basically, exclusively a Christian one. But it might not be a bad idea to start a section of the Bible project talk page providing a link to the discussion on the Christianity talk page. John Carter (talk) 13:49, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Religious errors

Re [1]--I'm sorry, that holy claim just went too far, but I'm sure I overreacted and I'm glad you reframed the sentence. My colleagues were tickled this morning when I told them what the article claimed (the school is around the corner from us), and what, no doubt, the kids are taught there at a hefty sum. Most private schools here were founded right after desegregation, and that tells you something. Thanks Lady! Drmies (talk) 17:01, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I quite enjoyed your request for a statement from God. I didn't realize you had done that. (I didn't look at the history.) I definitely understand what you are saying about the history of private schools in the area; My alma mater (just a little bit north of there) was founded only to school white, gentile boys. Thank goodness it's come a long, long way from what was decreed in the will that caused its formation. LadyofShalott 17:09, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Didn't know you were an Alabama girl lady! No wonder I sensed this almost mystical connection, a bond that can never be broken, etc. etc. So...culture or agriculture? Drmies (talk) 17:24, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
False dichotomy! Faculty kid. :) LadyofShalott 17:28, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sonia Sotomayor, Clarence Thomas, and Barack Obama (and his family) are all products of non-public schools. So let's be careful about generalizing about where there is and isn't opportunity and equality. ChildofMidnight (talk) 19:43, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
When I think of Alabama, I remember my monthly pilgrimages to Foley. Shopping at the outlet mall and stuffing my face with fried okra while trying to catch rolls was always fun. It was sooo worth the 45 minute drive from Pensacola. APK that's not my name 20:25, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Lady, I am sorry I forgot to report on the drywall at one of Montgomery's finest institutions--but there is nothing to report there. The computer lab did look very nice, but not because of the presence of Dell computers. It is clean and new, that's the nice thing about it. Unlike public schools in this state, which don't seem to have the money (easily explained by our tax structure) to spend on such niceties as buildings and renovations and computer rooms and central air, the private places are decking their stuff out nicely. I do not know at present if they read more or better books at those fine places. Drmies (talk) 17:44, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Need help

Aleta, I need your help. It appears there are two articles about the same person. I don't really know how to merge them, propose it, or whatever, but they are: Mike Kinsella, who is in a one-man-band called, Owen. (??!!) --Leahtwosaints (talk) 16:12, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the merger proposal templates to the articles. Let's see if there's any discussion. I have no feeling for which title should be the final one. If you do, perhaps you could comment on that on the relevant talk pages. LadyofShalott 17:40, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much. Hey, do you know who or where to turn to to ask questions about uploading both GDFL images under Creative Commons and non-free images? The Flickr upload tool doesn't work anymore, and I can not find one single person willing to explain how to upload at least the free images there. I am going INSANE! The guy who built the Bryan Flickr tool to upload them no longer works with Commons. I can't figure out how to do it manually. Where can I (and four other editors-- one with a couple FA-articles he wrote single handedly under his belt asking ME!) find out the rules and maybe get somebody to walk us through the process? I mean, I ask people to give up their copyrights, in exchange for attribution, and now, they are saying, "Hey, what happened to my photos?" And I'm the slowest one in the world to learn that stuff. I can hardly figure out how to set my alarm clock. However, when that upload tool worked, I sucessfully uploaded hundreds of needed photos- many of which you can see on my user page. Help? --Leahtwosaints (talk) 17:02, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
