Hello, Fryede, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Hello, mate, I see that you are interested in Eurovision. Would you like to be involved in connecting with more eurovision wikipedians to do up the eurovision pages in a more coherent manner? I have come across the Eurovision wikiproject page, which seems to have been dormant for over two years. It may be an idea to have a look there and see how we could improve the eurovision coverage. I have done up the Congratulations (Eurovision) page so far and put notes about it on the pages of those who performed there. Best regards from Australia, Blnguyen 23:54, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This sounds so great. I set up my own Eurovision Wiki at [1] so get in touch

Proposed new policy

As a recent contributor to Deaths in 2009, you may be able to help decide on a proposed new policy. It is proposed that:

A month should be deleted from the "Deaths in [CURRENT YEAR]" page ONE WEEK after the month ends.

Please opine at Talk:Deaths_in_2009#Proposed new policy. Don't just say

  • Support.

or

  • Oppose.

Also state your reasons and participate in the discussion. Michael Hardy (talk) 16:41, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Beaver Tower.JPG

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Beaver Tower.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. — neuro(talk) 20:05, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for listing all the nominees! For future reference, the title of a play, film, book, TV show, etc. should always be italicized. 209.247.22.166 (talk) 14:41, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:PaintingChix.JPG

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:PaintingChix.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nyttend (talk) 02:18, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removing an allegedly copyvio image is not vandalism. Do not accuse me of the same. Moreover, do not restore an image that is allegedly copyvio: since the situation will be resolved within a few days, it will either be a redlink or fine to restore next week. File source problem with File:PaintingChix.JPG

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:PaintingChix.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:22, 28 June 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 02:22, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

Sorry about the confusion with that image; somehow I managed to miss that a license tag was already present on it. :/ My bad; you didn't do anything wrong (although specifically saying that you created the image is probably a good idea in the future, to help avoid confusion). Please accept my apologies. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 14:23, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I knew I had added the licensing tag, so I couldn't understand why everyone was wanting to delete the photo. That's good to know about saying I took the picture. I was assuming that information was implied when I granted the license. --Fryede (talk) 18:03, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The source issue seems to be taken differently by different users... some feel that the license tag is enough, some say that an explicit statement is needed (I'm, obviously, in the latter group). As I said, I'm really sorry about the confusion... I really don't know how I missed the copyright tag. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 02:26, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
