Celestine Cruz Gonzaga (known by her screen name Toni Gonzaga), is a Filipina actress, TV host, dancer and singer. She started her career with GMA Network but later moved ABS-CBN where she became a host of Pinoy Big Brother. She is a hosts for the talk show Entertainment Live and the variety show ASAP (variety show).
Biography
Gonzaga started in show business at age 13 where she joined a singing contest with Kyla and Faith Cuneta.[2]
Gonzaga starred on the film You Got Me! with Sam Milby and Zanjoe Marudo.[3]
Gonzaga is featured on the compilation album H.O.P. E. (Healing of Pain and Enlightenment) of the Pinky Cares Foundation. She sang the song "Count On Me" for the album.[4]
Gonzaga starred in her first Maalaala Mo Kaya episode entitled "Pendant" with Jason Abalos and Ryan Eigenmann. She had her concert tour in Canada for the month of March titled "Perfect Combination" with Erik Santos. Toni Gonzaga also had her provincial concert tour entitled "Level Up, Toni Gonzaga".[5] She made her return to television, this time partnering with Derek Ramsay for Precious Heart Romances episode entitled "Ang Lalaking Nagmahal Sa Akin".[6] Gonzaga also hosted Pinoy Big Brother Double Up, the third season of Big Brother in the Philippines.[7] Gonzaga also released her album entitled "Love Duets" with Sam Milby under Star Records.[8]
Gonzaga starred on the film Ang Tanging Pamilya: A Marry Go Round under Star Cinema with Joseph Estrada, Ai-Ai de las Alas and Sam Milby.[9] She won as Best female talk show host on 23rd PMPC Star Awards for Television,[10] Anak TV seal Makabata Roster award[11] and ASAP 24k Gold Award.
Gonzaga is also featured in the compilation album I Move, I Give, I Love of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC). She sang the PNRC's theme song "Bagong Umaga", featured in the album.[12]
Personal life
Toni Gonzaga was born on January 20, 1984, to Methodist parents, Carlito and Crisanta Gonzaga.[1] She has a younger sister named Catherine Gonzaga (also known as Alex Gonzaga). She collects designer shoes by Christian Louboutin.[13]
Gonzaga is also a supporter of the Philippine National Red Cross. She is named as one of PNRC's "singing ambassadors" in 2009.[12]
