Javier E. Arenas (born October 28, 1987) is an American football cornerback and return specialist for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. He played high school football at Robinson High School in Tampa. He is 2008 Punt Returner Trophy recipient of the College Football Performance Awards. He placed 1st in Team All-State as a Senior at Robinson High School in 2005. Started playing football in early years as member of youth football and cheerleading organization Seahawks of Tampa Bay in South Tampa, where his brothers, Jeno, Armando, Michael and Marco also played. During his senior season with the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2009 he was voted to the AP All-America first-team [4] and helped lead the Tide to an undefeated 14-0 season including a victory in the 2010 BCS National Championship Game [5].

On November 21, 2009, Javier broke Derek Abney's Southeastern Conference record for career punt return touchdowns by returning his 7th punt return for a touchdown against the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga in Bryant-Denny Stadium.[6][7] On April 17, 2010, Arenas was formally presented the 2009 Punt Returner Trophy from the College Football Performance Awards at the 2010 Alabama spring football game, A-Day.
Professional career
Arenas was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2nd round, 50th overall of the 2010 NFL Draft. On July 28, 2010 Arenas signed a 4 year, $3.798 millon dollar contract with the Chiefs.[8]
Personal
He is the cousin of Washington Wizards All-Star point guard Gilbert Arenas. His brother Armando Murillo was a Golden Helmet winner at Robinson High School in Tampa & started at defensive back for the University of Nebraska in 2007 and 2008.
