The 2010–11 A PFG is the 87th season of the Bulgarian A Professional Football Group, Bulgaria's premier football league. The season commenced on 31 July 2010 and will end with the last games in May 2011. The winter break will be in effect between weekends around December 2010 and 26 February 2011.[1] The defending champions are Litex Lovech.
Team information
Lokomotiv Mezdra, Sportist Svoge and Botev Plovdiv were directly relegated after finishing in the bottom three places. Lokomotiv Mezdra ended a two-year tenure, and Sportist were relegated after a year in the A PFG; the future of Botev Plovdiv is uncertain since the club were excluded from A PFG due to financial difficulties, and the club is trying to receive a licence to play in B PFG for next season.
The relegated teams were replaced by Vidima-Rakovski Sevlievo and Kaliakra Kavarna, champions of the 2009-10 West and East B PFG. Vidima-Rakovski returned to the A PFG after two years, Kaliakra entered the top division for their first time.
A further place in the league was decided through a play-off match between the runners-up teams from the both B PFG. The game was played on 23 May 2010 between Nesebar and Akademik Sofia. Akademik won the match 2–1 and returned to the top division after 28 years. The last time the club have played in A PFG was during the 1981-82 season.

As in the previous year, the league will comprise the best thirteen teams of the 2009–10 season, the champions of the two 2009–10 Bulgarian B Professional Football Group division and the winners of the promotion play-off between the runners-up of these divisions.
