Mickey's Soundsational Parade premiered on May 27, 2011, celebrating the 55th anniversary of Disneyland in California. The parade celebrates the dreams of Disney characters and includes Disney characters such as Mickey and friends, Aladdin & The Genie, Ariel, The Three Caballeros, Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Rapunzel, King Louie, Simba, Terk, Tiana, Peter Pan & Tinkerbell and Mary Poppins. The parade includes nine floats which include Mickey's Band, Agrabah Band, Under the Sea Float, Mexico Band, Princess Float, Jungle Band, New Orleans Float, Neverland Band and Step in Time Laugh Float. The music used in the parade is derived from Hong Kong Disneyland's Flights of Fantasy Parade, both having the same tunes with changes in lyrics.

Parade Units

  • Mickey's Band:The Talking Hand Mickey Mouse plays drums and cymbals on the large float, which will likely anchor the parade. Classic Disney characters — Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Chip 'n' Dale & Professor Owl from Toot, Whistle, Plunk, and Boom — march beside the float playing drums and horns. Goofy appears to be riding on a tweener playing the big drum behind him.
  • Agrabah Band (Aladdin Units):The diamond-in-the-rough street rat dances atop a smaller float in front of a golden gong. The Genie dances next to the float with six harem girls and a golden coin dancer, and Abu bringing up the rear.
  • Jungle Band:Our friends such as King Louie from The Jungle Book, The Lion King and Terk from Tarzan will feature in this float. Simba stands atop a smaller drum-shaped float before a golden sun featuring the image of King Mufasa. WIth 4 monkey dancers, a headress dancer, and 2 dancing stilt walkers. The music used in this units is derived from Flights of Fantasy Parade's Jumpin' Jungle Jam Unit, both having the same tunes with all longer in lyrics.
  • New Orleans Float (The Princess and the Frog Units):Tiana and Louis the trumpet-playing alligator ride aboard a larger Mardi Gras-inspired evinrude Spin float.
  • Neverland Band (Peter Pan Units):Tinkerbell takes on the starring role atop the smaller float, which is decorated with giant flowers and humongous mushrooms to make the diminutive pixie appear smaller than the other characters in the parade. Captain Hook & Mr. Smee chases Peter Pan around the base of the float.
  • Step in Time Laugh Float (Mary Poppins Units):Based on the 1964 animated- and live-action musical movie, the larger float features Mary Poppins, Bert, chimney sweeps, Big Moon, and horn-playing penguins riding on a whimsical 2 Carousel horses. Mary and Bert riding on a bicycle carousel horses in front of the float next to Jolly Holiday Fox Hunter & Fox riding a penny-farthing high wheeler bicycle.
