List of Canadian military operations

Since 1947, the Canadian Forces have completed 72 international missions. More than 3,600 soldiers, sailors and Air Force personnel are deployed overseas on operational missions. On any given day, about 8,000 Canadian Forces members Royal Canadian Air Force,Royal Canadian Navy, and Canadian Army (one-third of the Canadian deployable force) are preparing for, engaged in or are returning from an overseas mission.

Below is a list of all currently active and past Canadian Forces operations both within Canada's borders and internationally.

Current Operations

This section consists of Canadian Forces operations which are currently active or are annually conducted.

Domestic

• Operation BOXTOP (Biannual replenishment operation for CFS Alert)
• Operation DRIFTNET (Support of Fisheries and Oceans Canada to halt illegal, unregulated, and unreported fishing)
• Operation LAMA (Code name for CF support to civil authorities for hurricane recovery efforts anywhere in Canada)
• Operation NUNALIVUT (Annual major sovereignty and security operation in Canada's High Arctic)
• Operation PALACI (Assistance to Parks Canada to stop avalanches in Rogers Pass keeping the Highway 1 and CP rail links clear)
• Operation POSEIDON (CF support to Canada Border Services Agency and RCMP for counter-illegal migrant operations on West Coast)

International

Americas and Caribbean

• Operation CARIBBE (Canada Command counter narcotics operation)
• Operation FOUNDATION (Canada's liaison team at the headquarters of US Central Command)
• Operation HAMLET (Canada's participation in the United States Stabilization Mission in Haiti)
• Operation JAGUAR (Contribution of military aviation and search-and-rescue capability to support the Jamaica Defence Force)

Africa

• Operation CALUMET (Multinational Force and Observers in the Sinai Peninsula)
• Operation CROCODILE (Support to the UN peace-support mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo)
• Operation MOBILE (Canadian contribution to Operation Unified Protector and the 2011 Libyan conflict)
• Operation SAFARI (Canada's contribution of military observers to the UN peace-support mission in southern Sudan)
• Operation SATURN (Support to the United Nations-African Union mission in Darfur)
• Operation SCULPTURE (Participation in the British-led military advisory and training mission in Sierra Leone)

Europe, Balkans and Mediterranean

• Operation KOBOLD (Canadian team serving with the NATO force in Kosovo)
• Operation SNOWGOOSE (Contribution to UNFICYP, the U.N. force in Cyprus)

Southwest Asia and Middle East

• Operation ATHENA (Canadian contingent in with the International Security Assistance Force)
• Operation ATTENTION (NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan)
• Operation GLADIUS (Contribution to UNDOF, the UN mission on the border between Israel and Syria
• Operation JADE (Canadian military observers serving with the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization)
• Operation PROTEUS (Canadian team working with the Office of US Security Coordinator to build security in the Palestinian Authority)
• Operation SAIPH (Periodic participation in counter-terrorism operations in the Arabian Sea and the Persian Gulf, and counter-piracy operations off the Horn of Africa)
