A subregion is a certain area of a continent, usually based on where they are located on the continent, making it common for region names to be prefixed with "North," "South," or any direction.
Here are a few examples of subregions sorted into continents:

- The Caribbean, more specifically the Greater Antilles and Lesser Antilles.
