Template:ME-taskbox Welcome to the home page of Middle-earth WikiProject. This Wikiproject was created on 23 November 2005 and activated and merged with Silmarillion WikiProject on 1 March 2006 in an effort to start bringing order to all Tolkien-related articles.

Scopes and goals

Mission statement

Our mission is to focus efforts and to promote interaction, cooperation, and communication in order to improve Wikipedia's encyclopedic coverage of Tolkien's legendarium.

Scopes

We cover articles that has anything to do with the following:

  • Any articles concerning Tolkien's novels, the characters, the places, the plots, etc.
  • Any articles concerning and affiliated with the films
  • Any articles concerning other Tolkien-related books and resources

Goals

Our goals include:

  1. To discuss/contribute/improve as a group of editors anything dealing with Things to Do page
  2. To standardize and have any Tolkien-related articles/lists/categories/etc. to follow this WikiProject's style guidelines
  3. To follow Wikipedia's notability guidelines, to reduce and monitor anything what should not be done.

And after this WikiProject makes some progress...

  1. To bring any Tolkien-related articles to the high standards and quality as to a Good Article, Featured Article/or Featured List

  1. Add sources to articles that do not have references or sources
  2. Ensure that all Middle-earth articles are properly categorized and organized.
  3. Update all articles to follow the Alternate version of the legendarium format
  4. Add images and begin sorting.
  5. Develop a consistent Wikipedia method of referencing various Middle-earth books
  6. Expand stubs into complete articles
  7. Review and update List of Middle-earth articles
