Simone Kennedy (born 4 January 1994) is a London, England born Australian cyclist. She was selected to represent Australia at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in cycling's 3 km pursuit event, the 500m time trial and two road roads.

Personal

Kennedy was born on 4 January 1994 in London, England.[1] She has epilepsy and cerebral palsy.[2][3] Other sports she plays include golf.[1] As of 2012, she is a student working on a Bachelor Sports Coaching and Administration,[1] lives in Sydney, Australia.[4]

Cycling

Kennedy is a C3 classified cyclist.[1][3] She is a member of the Parramatta Cycling Club and coached by Tom Skulander.[1][2]

Kennedy started cycling when she was a fifteen year old.[1] In 2012, she participated her first major international competition when she cycled in the UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Los Angeles, where she finished first in the C3 500-metre time trial and 3-kilometre individual pursuit.[2][5] She was selected to represent Australia at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in cycling's 3 km pursuit, the 500m time trial and two road roads.[3][4][6] In the lead up to the Paralympics, she participated in the Blenheim Palace festival of cycling time trial event.[7][8][9]
