The qualifying competition for UEFA Euro 2016 is a football competition that will be played from September 2014 to November 2015. It will determine the 23 qualifying teams that will compete in UEFA Euro 2016, which is to be held in France.[1][2]

The remaining 53 member associations will participate in the qualifying process for the 23 tournament places with Gibraltar taking part for the first time. The format of the qualifying process is yet to be determined .[3]

The qualifying draw will take place at the Palais des Congrès Acropolis, Nice on 23 February 2014.[4]

Teams eligible to enter

All UEFA member associations are eligible to compete in the qualifying competition:[5]

1: For the qualifying draw Russia and Georgia; Armenia and Azerbaijan and Spain and Gibraltar will be kept apart due to political conflicts between these states. (See South Ossetia, Nagorno-Karabakh, Disputed status of Gibraltar for details.)
2: Russia will play three home games without spectators in the qualifying round of Euro 2016 for fan violence during UEFA Euro 2012.[6]
