5.1 spelling correction request

"practicing Roman Catholic" should be "practising" since it is being used as a verb.

Done per WP:ENGVAR. Note "practising" is the British spelling, while "practicing" is the American version. The article is generally using the British variety, so I have adjusted the spelling in this case to match. Thanks, NiciVampireHeart 17:41, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request

Hey guys, just a minor thing, I think perhaps the wording of the third paragraph in Personal life could be changed as right now it might seem a bit ambiguous: announced on 3 july X became a father on 3 july (it's the former, as the son was apparently born in June, first google result: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2005735/Happy-birthday-son-Cristiano-Ronaldos-year-old-boy-baptised-amidst-armed-military-police.html). Something along the lines of "On 3 July 2010, Ronaldo announced that he had recently become a father...". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.77.119.100 (talk) 16:03, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It is 201 goals in 199 appearances for Real Madrid

72.199.5.203 (talk) 04:58, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly do you want changed? If it is the infobox, you should be aware that those stats refer only to appearances and goals in the league. Thanks. – PeeJay 10:19, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sentence need rephrasing

Under section records it is stated "The first player ever to score against every team in a single season in La Liga"

This should be rephrased to "The first player to score against every team in a single season in La Liga since the league was expanded to 20 teams."

The reason for this is that 7 other players already before him scored aganst every team in a la liga season.

  • Paco Bienzobas (1929-30)
  • Guillermo Gorostiza (1929-30)
  • Luis Regueiro (1930-31)
  • Isidro Lángara (1933-34)
  • Pruden (1940-41)
  • Mariano Martín (1942-43)
  • César Rodríguez (1950-51)

CR7 Shop Locations

Saying that there are only two is false. There is one in Vilamoura in the Algarve. I do not know whether there are more than three though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.220.225.225 (talk) 07:45, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 6 September 2013

I will like to erase the fact that Ronaldo won a bronze medal at the European Championship 2012 held in Poland and Ukraine because there are neither third place matches nor bronze medals at European elite competitions. Tobexi (talk) 15:26, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You are right that there are no third place matches, but per the Euro 2012 regulations, 40 bronze medals were awarded to each of the losing finalists. – PeeJay 21:16, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Record Transfer

There is no official source which can prove that Bale cost €100m. In fact, many Spanish newspapers and Real Madrid officials claim he cost €91m while British newspapers claim he cost €100m. So there is no actual proof that Bale really is the world record transfer. Yet, on Wikipedia it is stated as a fact! Maybe this should be discussed?

On the Gareth Bale talkpage have we discussed this issue. Because neither Tottenham or Madrid have confirmed the actual fee, have we added both the €91m fee (reported by Spanish newspapers and Real Madrid TV), and the €100 fee (reported by British newspapers) on the Gareth Bale article (see third paragraph and the first paragraph under Real Madrid). I have also added "reportedly" in the first paragraph on the CR article, because CR's fee is confirmed by Madrid (and that would make him still the most expensive player ever) as Bale's fee is not confirmed by either club. Also adding this source (http://as.com/diarioas/2013/09/06/english/1378472217_751539.html), already added on the Bale article, that states that RM insisted that CR is still the most expensive player ever.

Typo

"In April, he completed the treble by winning the PFA Fans' Player of the Year. He also won the PFA Fans' Player of the Year and the FWA Footballer of the Year, becoming the first player to win all four main PFA and FWA awards."

PFA Fans' Player of the Year is mentioned twice.
