Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii (それでも世界は美しい, lit. "Even So, The World is Beautiful") is a Japanese manga series by Dai Shiina, serialized in Hakusensha's shōjo manga magazine Hana to Yume from 2012. Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii was first published as a one-shot in the same magazine in 2009, with a second one-shot published in 2011. It has been collected in six tankōbon volumes as of February 2014. An anime television series adaptation by Pierrot is scheduled to air from April 2014.

Nike Remercier (ニケ・ルメルシエ, Nike Remerushie)

The fourth princess of the Dukedom and one holds the power to call forth the rain. She travels to the Sun Kingdom to marry Sun King Livius for her country, despite his own reluctance. Shock at first that the king is a kid but later she fell inlove with Livius and admit it to his cousin Kitra. She accept to be the future Sun Queen.

The fourth and youngest princess of the Rain Dukedom and Livius's love interest. She is also the protagonist of the story.

Nike Amefurashi is the fourth princess of the Rain Dukedom. In exchange for autonomy, one of the four princesses of Rain Dukedom was to be sent to the Sun Kingdom to marry their King. The youngest princess, Nike was to be sent after she lost in a game of rock, paper, and scissor against her older sisters. She can call forth rain when she sing. Nike is also very strong, proven when she beat up four of the palace guards. Although, initally distaught by her fate to marry Livius, Nike comes to care for the young Sun King.

Personality:

Optimistic, understanding, and stubbon, but caring Nike quickly gains the people's affection as well as Livius, who clearly loves her. She is said to be more popular than Livius among the people in the Sun Kingdom as she seems to interact with them on regular basis and helps them out when she can. She will also avenge herself, if she believe that any wronsg has been done on her. For example, although Rani originally wanted to kill Nike and almost succeeded in doing so, Nike forgives him, but she also beats him up for carrying out the order of assault on her life.

Livius Orvinus Ifriqiyah I (リヴィウス一世, Riviusu Issei)

Livius is the king of the Sun Kingdom. He conquer the world three years after his enthronement. While he is rumor to be a monster of some sort, he is actually a young boy. His father is the former king and his mother, a commoner. When his mother was still alive, he and her lived an isolated life in the castle because of his mother's low social status. After his mother's death, Livius began to conquer the lands until the whole world was conquer.

His ablities king are considerable and he cleansed his kingdom's government of corruption and he supressed each opposing nation one by one. It's been noted by Nike, that while Livius is just a boy, his eyes are like that of an adult. He has a loyal butler who seems to understand him.  He granted the Rain Dukedom autonomy, but in exchange, he told them to sent a princess. Nike after having lost a round of rock, paper, scissor, was sent. He is fond of Nike and grows to love her.

Personality:

After his mother's death, Livius grew cold and cruel and became distrustful of everyone around him. Noted, by Neil, is because he doesn't know how to reach out to people because his enemies are the only ones who surround him, And because his mother was also from the lower class, both he and his mother lived an isolated life in the palace and by supporting each other, they continue to live quietly. After his mother's death, Livius began to flourish until the world was conquered. It seem, Livius conquered the world as a diversion to cover up his damage heart.

As the story progress, Nike's presence and effort to help the young King slowly begins to change him. On several occasion in the series, Livius can be very childish. Livius can also be very protective and violent when it comes to people he care about. For example, he didn't hesitate to raise his sword against the person who attacked Nike. Through Nike stopped Livius from almost killing the man. Later on, Livius reveal a much colder and crueler and if not an extremely jealous side when he imprision his uncle Bardouin and confine Nike to her room because he thought that Nike has fallen for Bardouin and Bardouin have seduced Nike, which is why he threaten to burn her kingdom to ashes, when Nike talked against him for senting Bardoun to jail.
