Hypnotic Eye is the upcoming thirteenth studio album by American rock band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, scheduled for release on July 29, 2014, by Reprise Records.[1][2]
Production
The first sessions for the album occurred in August 2011 at the band's Los Angeles-based rehearsal space, the "Clubhouse" where the song "Burn Out Town" was recorded. David Fricke of Rolling Stone reported the album will have eleven tracks, including "American Dream Plan B", "Faultlines", "Red River", "Silence", and the final track "Shadow People". The album is also set to mark a stylistic return to the band's first two albums, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (1976) and You're Gonna Get It! (1978).[1]
Promotion
Previewing the album for David Fricke and Rolling Stone, Tom Petty "promised" the band would tour in support of the new album, following residencies at theaters in New York City and Los Angeles.[1]
