The picture "Big Red on the salt" does not show the Big Red. Most probably it's the ''Silver Bird''. ::Have a look on it: First forget about numbers. ''Big Red'' did also have #111 (see [http://www.gyronautx1.com Gyronaut X-1 homepage]). Second there is the acuity of the nose. Third ''Big Red's'' canopy was hinged at it's side ([http://s5.photobucket.com/user/bubbamatt/media/Bonneville-from%201970%20on/A_PB_Vesco-197002.jpg.html "photobucket.com"]), whereas the followers had canopies hinged at the front . Have a look on it: First forget about numbers. Big Red did also have #111 (see Gyronaut X-1 homepage). Second there is the acuity of the nose. Third Big Red's canopy was hinged at it's side ("photobucket.com"), whereas the followers had canopies hinged at the front .
