Provide a reliable media source which verifies this, or it can't go in the article. The purpose of Wikipedia is to summarize media coverage of our article subjects, not to replicate their own campaign brochures — so if you can't provide a media source which properly demonstrates that at least one media outlet covered him being given the award, then it's not something that we're under any obligation to mention.
