:A quick browse of it appeared to be a good-faith attempt to write an actual article about a guy rather than another attempt to insert something ridiculous - especially in the face of numerous IPs (who I presume are the same person) running about with the aforementioned death threats and random page blanking. :::I don't think it's much different from numerous previously-deleted versions, though the most recent version at [[Draft talk:Igor Janev]] had some extra stuff about "Dialectical Relationistic Theory in the area of General Ontology (Philosophy)". The previous deleted versions haven't themselves been ridiculous, though failing to show notability. The sockpuppets' tactics and TL;DR rants, have been ridiculous, and the (extremely funny) page on sh-wiki suggests that the Janev-promotion industry has been causing annoyance there, too. Some of those versions may have been more extreme.

Still Active, Just Might Have a Few Days In Bed

Redrose64 at RFPP

Hi, re this thread: I've just found it, thanks for denying it. What a strange request: I've never edited Main Page (but perhaps some of the templates that are used to build it, like DYK); I've never touched any article named Habibullah Khan, whether editing or deleting. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:19, 6 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Redrose64, that editor (blocked now) has a habit of making pointy, disruptive RFPP requests and sometimes is just plain odd. His one article talk page post: [1] --NeilN talk to me 20:33, 6 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I see that I replied to it half an hour later. Perhaps, seven months down the line, he has decided that he didn't like the tone of my response. --Redrose64 (talk) 09:16, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Redrose64 - please let me know if that results in a stalker. That was a rather odd person. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 13:00, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for protecting my talk page earlier from sockpuppetry. I really appreciate it, and because I'm feeling good as it was my birthday, instead of leaving you a thank you note, you can have this! Thank you very much! Class455fan1 (talk) 23:48, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Extended confirmed protection

Hello, Panyd. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.

Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.

In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:

  • Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
  • A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.

Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:49, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Battlefield 1

HI there Panyd!

I've noticed that you've locked the Battlefield 1 page to prevent vandalism. I think this is great, but I'd like to correct some incorrect information.

I've noticed that Lars Gustavsson was moved from directors to designers, which is incorrect. Lars is the design director of EA DICE and should therefore be listed under directors. All employees that are are at director level, regardless of being design, art or creative director should all be listed under directors. Daniel Berlin has also been removed from the designers slot, which should also be reverted. Berlin worked as Lead Designer on Battlefield 1 and should be listed under the designers section.

Do you think this could be fixed to better represent the actual development process of the Battlefield game?

Thank you kindly! :) Opiumbloom (talk) 22:41, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Opiumbloom:! That seems like a sensible change but unfortunately I don't know enough about Battlefield 1 to feel comfortable wading in there! However, you can request this edit be made by an editor who is familiar with this subject by going to the talk page and using the template {{edit semi-protected}}. Someone should be more than happy to talk to you about this and fix it up if it's incorrect! PanydThe muffin is not subtle 22:59, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins

Hello,

Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers

Hi Panyd.

A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.

It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.

If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:48, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, Panyd. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A kitten for you!

Hello,

My name is Andrija, and you recently deleted an article I had previously created. After reading FAQ I understood the reason behind your decision, and I would like to ask you if it would be possible for me to create an article with the name 'Universal Capital Bank AD Podgorica' and to have just one line of text in it? Or am I simply banned from creating an article about the company I work for(even though it has just one line of text? if it's the latter then should I create a new account and retry?

Not that this isn't a microcosm of insanity but I'm not partial to somebody else wiping my talk page so up here it will stay! - PanydThe muffin is not subtle 12:47, 3 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Jimbo Page [2]. Regards.178.222.77.248 (talk) 01:28, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@178.222.77.248: - and I have undone your edit. Personally, I think the joke page is hilarious, but Mr Igor Janev's page was rightly deleted as a hoax. He may well be the greatest everything ever produced by Macedonia but he is also a figment of someone's imagination. Please do not disrupt Wikipedia. (And if any talk page stalkers are interested, please see here). PanydThe muffin is not subtle 14:44, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If it was Hoax, how come that art. exists in 14. wikis [3]? Are all this people who decided that it was not a Hoax stupid? How can you be better expert on Igor Janev than Macedonian wiki editors?178.222.77.248 (talk) 15:23, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If you are expert for him, than you should create his BLP here on eng.wiki.178.222.77.248 (talk) 15:34, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Panyd, his photo [4] was placed at Commons by the head / president of sr.WMF. Verify that. They wouldn't do that unless they were 100% sure that he was Not a Hoax, nor BLATANT HOAX! Best Wishes!178.222.77.248 (talk) 15:55, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I think I'm tapping out on this one. I don't know how to separate Igor Janev the fake man who owns the best dog in Macedonia, the hoaxes over multiple wikis, the concerted sockpuppet push to get Igor Janev created, and what you're talking about. Anyone know anything about Macedonia? PanydThe muffin is not subtle 16:02, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Panyd, this person is real and he exist! Verify mk.wiki and sr. wiki, please. You may think that he is relevant or not, but he is not a Fake! Local WMF placed his photo! [5][6]. So you can create minimum BLP for him just as a scientist.178.222.77.248 (talk) 16:11, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You can use Google Scholar [7] for that end. Wish you a good recovery.178.222.77.248 (talk) 16:15, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If you would like to create a BLP about a real person named Igor Janev then please do! That would be wonderful. There are so many Igor Janevs floating around that I think I have to concede that I am absolutely no idea which is the real one. When a hoax is perpetrated this thoroughly I'm not even trusting Russian news sources etc. here because I am very much aware of what English-language hoaxes have produced in the past. Google scholar looks like a lovely start. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 16:16, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Panyd, only admins. here on eng.wiki can create his BLP. You are eng. admin. For start you can translate sv. art. [8] from Swedish into English, and place the BLP Igor Janev. I will be happy to cooperate in all that. My best wishes. 178.222.77.248 (talk) 16:34, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Panyd, by the way, He does not seem to be a Vandal. I found that He is in the WMF “List of donors” (“Списак донатора“ ) [9] under Игор Јанев (Igor Janev) (20 000 Dinars), (with largest amount). Regards!178.222.77.248 (talk) 17:52, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You can verify that fact with sr. WMF. 178.222.77.248 (talk) 18:07, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Look, I'm not saying that Igor Janev himself is a vandal. And apparently there is a man named Igor Janev who exists and is obstructing Macedonia's entry into the UN. What I am saying is that there is a concerted effort to create hoax Igor Janev articles - with someone going so far as to create what looks to be 28 separate accounts to spread misinformation about Macedonia, and in particular, about the fictional version of Igor Janev and I know nothing about the man. I am a monoglot. I cannot possibly be expected to separate an elaborate hoax from someone I know nothing about. May I suggest going to the folks at Wikiproject politics and asking them about this? PanydThe muffin is not subtle 18:11, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Dear, Igor Janev never obstructed Macedonia's entry into the UN. On contrary he was Macedonian official who helped entry of Republic of Macedonia into the UN. He was a senior advisor of the Macedonian Government. But you can create BLP of him just as an scientist. All personal data of Igor Janev are available at the Serbian WMF, including physical address, phone number, email and so on. When you make a payment in Serbia or Macedonia (to say WMF) you have to fulfill paper with all personal data, so that hoaxes can be prevented. So, you have a green light to go with BLP. Just stick to the facts. Regards!178.222.77.248 (talk) 18:59, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
plus if he was spreading misinformation about Macedonia, he would be arrested either in Macedonia or in Serbia. There is a firm cooperation between the Macedonian and Serbian police forces and other agencies. So don't worry about socks and vandalism. After you create BLP, you can always protect that page.178.222.77.248 (talk) 19:13, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Let me help you with the BLP. You may have this data:Igor Janev (Игор Јанев, born September 29, 1964) is a Macedonian scientist.

Igor Janev was born in Belgrade on 29.sep. 1964. He obtained the Doctoral degree in International Law at the Faculty of Law, Skopje University, Macedonia. He finished postdoctoral studies in USA at: 1) University of Virginia, Charlottesville (Department of Government and Foreign Affairs,September 1994 – June 1995), 2 Georgetown University, Washington D.C. (School of Foreign Service, June 1995 – September 1995), and 3) Taft University, Medford, Mass. (Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, October 1995 – June 1996). Igor Janev was a Special Advisor to the Minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Macedonia in 2000-2002. Currently, he is a Scientific advisor at the Institute for political Studies in Belgrade. Publications: Igor Janev has published more than 140 scientific articles and 19 monographs and books in the fields of diplomacy and international relations.178.222.77.248 (talk) 19:38, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tell you what. All of the pages regarding Igor Janev on here, including the draft space (I did look for you) are quite rightly protected due to an obsessive who really wants to spread a joke. How about you write a draft at User:Panyd/Janev and I'll put it forward for you. Does that sound ok? PanydThe muffin is not subtle 19:41, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine, but I need some time. Perhaps in the next 24 hours. Regards. 178.222.77.248 (talk) 19:47, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Take as much time as you need. Just let me know when you're done. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 19:48, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Panyd, I would like to inform you that I just finished Igor Janev. I have to inform you that Serbian WMF member, and one of the people who was founder of Serbian WMF, who works as an official in the Serbian Ministry of Education and Science can confirm the accuracy of all data. This person knows Igor Janev personally because Ministry of Education and Science has formal relationship with the Institute for the Political Science (Institute is under the Ministry). So they know each other. All CVs of Scientific advisors (and Igor Janev is one of them) are available in the Ministry of Education and Science, and they are 100% accurate. Any attempt to falsification or manipulation leads to consequences under criminal law of Serbia. For that reason, to avoid fake, hoaxes and other similar events, Serbian WMF can through this (unofficial) liaison always check accuracy of data at the Ministry. Furthermore, CVs of employees of Ministry or Institutes are subject to other chec of entitled government organs and organizations, external to the Ministry. So the data I am giving to you are not hoaxes or fakes. Every single person who works in this kind of Institutes or in the Ministry is a subject to multiple scrutiny by different agencies, including security checks . I Hope that now you believe me. If necessary, I can provide you with more information. Best Regards! 178.222.77.248 (talk) 14:09, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Plus, Igor Janev met personaly a WMF member Ivana Guslarević at the Headquarters of WMF in Belgrade in 2016. [10][11]. You can easily verify that. Regards and best wishes!178.222.77.248 (talk) 15:02, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As I am sure (hope?) you are aware - our BLP criteria requires us to have good reliable sources to verify information on all subjects for various reasons. Using 'see Google scholar' and the titles of articles written by Mr Janev himself (such as 'Teorija međunarodne politike i diplomatije i nova definicija politike') is not acceptable on the English-language Wikipedia. If you would like me to put a version of this article in draft space for review, it will need to fit this format. Again, please do not use things written by Mr Janev as references, and read our BLP and reliable source guidelines carefully.
I appreciate that this may be different on the Serbian Wikipedia - but every wiki has it's rules, and these are ours. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 10:19, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
For now you just have a proof that He is Not a hoax, nor Fake. I will not at a time engage myself in this matter. But, person who has been Advisor to the Name issue was and is a most trusted person in Macedonian administration! This person had highest level of clearance for access to information's. And Igor Janev has a double citizenship, of Serbia and Macedonia. Plus, he is popular in Serbia [12] and Macedonia [13]. He is a member of VMRO-DPMNE.178.222.77.248 (talk) 11:24, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks!178.222.77.248 (talk) 11:27, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I thought I'd made it clear a couple of days ago that I had acknowledged that a real man named Igor Janev existed. If you don't have any inclination to continue working on it, I'm just going to delete it. I'll give it a few hours first just in case you don't see this message right away. A kitten for you!

For Better Understanding!

Risto Nikovski (talk) 04:04, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, help me out here - because I've never really understood how this brand of trolling is supposed to work. There's been a barrage of IP addresses running about, and you, all connected around the same subject. I am very accommodating and polite, and then there's this effort to take a section off of my talk page, which I'm not ok with. YOU repeatedly state that Igor Janev doesn't want an article on en.wiki, and use that as justification to remove information.
One of my polite requests to an IP to stop removing information from my talk page gets changed to talking about murder. The IP in question also makes death threats. THEN you show up, actually create an Igor Janev article in my user space (which in and of itself is rather rude,) something you've been insisting is not wanted and justification for messing with my talk page. THEN you give me a kitten.
So between harassment, murder threats, and messing with my stuff - and now a somewhat (in context) creepy message next to a kitten - what's the end goal here? PanydThe muffin is not subtle 16:24, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I can tell you only this. He (Igor Janev) is not apriori against BLP on ENG.Wiki. As for socks, as I understand anyone who try to mention his name or create article about him is labeled Sock. I cannot comment on treats, but generally it looks to me that people here trying to punish unjustifiably art. Igor Janev for behavior of socks. There are many places one can find sort of BLP about Janev, and as I see it anyone who attempt to put it here is user:"Operahome" one or two fans. So its not that Igor Janev doesn't want to have here BLP, but You people/editors do not want his article, for sole purpose of punishment. I do not see why should one pay price for actions of others!Risto Nikovski (talk) 18:44, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Basically, you admins. here on eng.wiki created story or collection about User:Operahome, and as see it now they are Mk. patriots and they done nothing wrong. Some of them are kids or underage person(s) such as user Counterintelligence and similar kids. Now you can put in that collection Risto, as well! For your inf. real Igor Janev appeared only ones at mk.wiki under user "Проф. д-р Игор Јанев", then after global blocking by sh. User:Kolega2357, Igor Janev never appeared again on any Wiki! He is not Wikipedian, at all!Risto Nikovski (talk) 19:08, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Latest information, Igor Janev is now in Macedonia, because we have General Elections in Macedonia on Sunday 11. December 2016. He has a Static Macedonian IP beginning with 311. ... etc.(Location: Karpos). So you have complete wrong picture! As for language used in Balkans, treats are like "Good Morning" in UK, EU or USA. So do not worry about nasty talk.Risto Nikovski (talk) 19:24, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Janev

Hi. I'm afraid you have been used - or did you intend to override full-protection on Draft:Igor Janev, see log? It was placed by FPAS because of long-term, persistent sockpuppetry, documented at WP:Sockpuppet investigations/Operahome. Unless you have a particular reason for allowing this one through, I think it should just be deleted WP:CSD#G5 like several previous attempts. JohnCD (talk) 15:32, 11 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A quick browse of it appeared to be a good-faith attempt to write an actual article about a guy rather than another attempt to insert something ridiculous - especially in the face of numerous IPs (who I presume are the same person) running about with the aforementioned death threats and random page blanking. So if I've been taken for a ride do let me know but it seemed to significantly differ from the last version that was deleted and appears to be about an actual person and their achievements. I don't think it's much different from numerous previously-deleted versions, though the most recent version at Draft talk:Igor Janev had some extra stuff about "Dialectical Relationistic Theory in the area of General Ontology (Philosophy)". The previous deleted versions haven't themselves been ridiculous, though failing to show notability. The sockpuppets' tactics and TL;DR rants have been ridiculous, and the (extremely funny) page on sh-wiki suggests that the Janev-promotion industry has been causing annoyance there, too. Some of those versions may have been more extreme.
This all started when it was reported at Meta that articles had been spammed across about 30 WPs, and that their claims were not backed up by the references. Even then, it was not doubted that Janev exists, the word "hoax" referred to claims made in the articles.
Since then, numerous SPA accounts (see SPI) and a positive swarm of IPs have regularly tried to repost the article, and posted long rants on Jimbo's talk page and elsewhere, including death threats (I see you are on the same hit list as me. Your correspondent says this is just the Balkan equivalent of "Good morning", but I could do without it).
I have no idea whether this is Janev himself, or an obsessed supporter, or a fan-club, but it really doesn't matter. It is a long-term nuisance where WP:RBI is the best plan. The only thing preventing me simply deleting this draft per G5 and adding Risto Nikovski to the SPI is that he is not actually a new account, though his only edits before this flare-up were to shout "ТИ СИ ПРЕДАВНИК!" (You are a traitor!) at another user in 2014 - another Balkan "Good morning", I suppose.
Pinging Future Perfect at Sunrise, who is familiar with this and salted this draft title, for their view. JohnCD (talk) 22:42, 11 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
