Mariam Khan - Reporting Live is an Indian television series which airs on StarPlus and is available to stream on Hotstar. The series premiered on 21 May 2018. It is produced by Majid Azam and Afaque Azam. It stars Mahima Makwana, Param Singh, Sheena Bajaj and Khalid Siddiqui.

Plot

Young Mariam Khan is a very imaginative and curious child who does not take things at face value. She is the youngest member of a large family, where her grandfather is the patriarch. Mariam idolizes her dad Majaaz Khan (Khalid Siddiqui), who is an idealistic journalist. The show is based in Bhopal, a city that has a mix of westernization and tradition. Her mother Madeeha (Rukhsar Rehman) is only concerned with their daughters getting married while Mariam plans to become a reporter. Her father owns a press. Mariam shares an emotional bond with her father. He is very loyal and he never accepts bribes. However, there is a secret the Khan family are hiding from the world, unknown to the younger generation which is that of Aayat (Majaaz's sister) being the biological mother of Mariam.

Aayat comes to India & tricks the Khan family, taking Mariam away to Lahore, forcing her to donate her bone marrow to Jibran (Aayat's son). Aayat's nephew, Farhan, is a terrorist who blackmails Majaaz into causing a bomb blast in the Indian Army base camp, using Mariam as a hostage. In the process, circumstances cause Majaaz to be labelled as a terrorist & he allegedly dies in a bomb blast while trying to rescue Mariam from the real terrorists. A pilgrim takes away little Mariam to India & raises her.

10 years Later

Mariam is all grown up now. Following the past consequences she is carrying a fake name, Manjeet Kaur & living with Biji in Amritsar. She is an independent cab driver. On her first day, while dropping one of the passengers in Badnam Gali, she meets a stranger (Fawad) and is shocked to see her father's photo in his hand.
