Mashin Sentai Kiramager (魔進戦隊キラメイジャー, Mashin Sentai Kirameijā) is an upcoming Japanese tokusatsu television series. It's the 44th entry of Toei's long-running Super Sentai series and the second in the Reiwa era, following Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger.[1][2][3] Kiramager's main motifs are genies, gemstones and vehicles. It is the second magic-themed Super Sentai, preceded by Mahou Sentai Magiranger, second gemstone-themed Super Sentai, preceded by Dai Sentai Goggle-V, and the fourth vehicle-themed Super Sentai, preceded by Engine Sentai Go-onger.

The show will premiere on March 8, 2020,[1][2][3] joining Kamen Rider Zero-One in the Super Hero Time line-up on TV Asahi affiliate stations.

Story

A princess named Mabushina from the planet Crystalia (クリスタリア, Kurisutaria), the Land of Jewels (宝石の国, Hōseki no Kuni), arrives on Earth with the Kirama Stones to find individuals with strong "shining spirits", otherwise known as Kiramental (キラメンタル, Kiramentaru), to become the Kiramagers and fight off the threat of Yodonheim, an imperial army of darkness that conquered her homeworld and seek to assassinate her to ensure her kind's extinction.[1][2][3][4]

Characters

Kiramagers

The Kiramagers fight using the Kirama Stones (キラメイストーン, Kiramei Sutōn), each with a will of its own that chooses the Kiramagers as worthy users and are capable of transforming into giant vehicles called Mashin (魔進(マシン)), which can combine to form the giant robot Kiramazin (キラメイジン, Kirameijin) via Mashin Combination (魔進合体, Mashin Gattai).[1][2][3]

  • Jūru Atsuta (熱田 充瑠, Atsuta Jūru): An artistic high schooler who loves to draw and the newest member of the team who transforms into Kirama Red (キラメイレッド, Kiramei Reddo). His Mashin is Fire (ファイヤ, Faiya), a fire engine with a rescue ladder and incredible strength.[1][2][3]
  • Tametomo Imizu (射水 為朝, Imizu Tametomo): An esports professional who excels in long range combat and transforms into Kirama Yellow (キラメイイエロー, Kiramei Ierō). His Mashin is Shovellow (ショベロー, Shoberō), an excavator capable of climbing up walls and throwing bombs at incredible speed.[1][2][3]
  • Sena Hayami (速見 瀬奈, Hayami Sena): A famous track and field athlete who excels in high speed combat and transforms into Kirama Green (キラメイグリーン, Kiramei Gurīn). Her Mashin is Mach (マッハ, Mahha), a supercar with similar capabilities.[1][2][3]
  • Shiguru Oshikiri (押切 時雨, Oshikiri Shiguru): A professional stunt actor who excels in swordsmanship and transforms into Kirama Blue (キラメイブルー, Kiramei Burū). His Mashin is Jetter (ジェッタ, Jetta), a jet aircraft with cutter wings.[1][2][3]
  • Sayo Ōharu (大治 小夜, Ōharu Sayo): A talented doctor who excels in aikido, serves as the team's healer, and transforms into Kirama Pink (キラメイピンク, Kiramei Pinku). Her Mashin is Helico (ヘリコ, Heriko), a helicopter with a reflective propeller.[1][2][3]

Allies

CARAT Company

CARAT company is a largest Zaibatsu company in Japan. Founded in early 2010s, CARAT has been knowing financing building, vechile, and etc. CARAT company also serves Kiramerger base and shelter Mabushina prior she being hunted.

  • Muryō Hakataminami (博多南 無鈴, Hakataminami Muryō): The founder of the CARAT company who provides support to the Kiramagers against Yodonheim's invasion of Earth. He also acted father figure toward Kiramerger and Maabushina.

Crystallia

Crystallia is a beautiful planet where all of them is made by gemstones. Crystallia has been invanded by Yodonheim empire prior start the series.

  • Princess Mabushiina (マブシーナ王女, Mabushīna-ōjo): The princess of Crystalia and heir to its throne who fled to Earth with the Kirama Stones after her planet was conquered by Yodonheim, who have sent assassins after her.
  • King Oradin (オラディン王, Oradin-ō): Mabushiina's father and the king of Crystalia prior to being deposed by Yodonheim when his younger brother, Garza, allied himself with their enemy.

Yodonheim

The Dark Empire Yodonheim (闇の帝国ヨドンヘイム, Yami no Teikoku Yodonheimu) is an empire under the command of their mysterious leader that conquered Crystalia before setting their sights on Earth.[4]

  • Treacherous Demon General Garza (裏切りの鬼将軍ガルザ, Uragiri no Oni-shogun Garuza): A Crystalian, Oradin's younger brother and Mabushiina's uncle who betrayed his brother to become one of the generals of the Yodonheim's invasion force.
  • Dark Masked Magician Crantula (闇の仮面遣クランチュラ, Yami no Kamen-tsukai Kuranchura): One of the generals in Yodonheim's invasion force.

Production

Mashin Sentai Kiramager was trademarked on September and officially announced on Christmas day, 2019.[1][2][3] The main cast was officially revealed in January 16, 2020.

The most notable actors is Mio Kudo who previously potrayed Kanon Fukami from Kamen Rider Ghost and Daimaou Kosaka known as Pikotaro who is famous singing PPAP in 2016.

Films

Episode Zero

A month before the premier of the television series, Mashin Sentai Kiramager Episode Zero (魔進戦隊キラメイジャー エピソードZERO, Mashin Sentai Kirameijā Episōdo Zero) will be released as a prequel movie in Japanese theaters on February 8, 2020 as part of Super Sentai Movie Party (スーパー戦隊MOVIEパーティー, Sūpā Sentai Mūbī Pātī). The movie will be double billed with Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger VS Lupinranger VS Patranger the Movie, which featured a crossover between Ryusoulger and Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger. The plot of the film will mainly focus on Mabushiina's exodus to Earth and scouting people with Kiramental who can help her fend off the Yodonheim assassins sent after her.[1][2][3]
