Dota: Dragon's Blood is an American animated epic fantasy streaming television series created by Ashley Miller.[1] It is based on Dota 2, a multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Valve.[2] The production was co-produced by Studio Mir, Netflix Animation and Valve.[3] The series premiered on Netflix on March 25, 2021.[4] The show is presented in a style that combines anime with American cartoons.

The series was announced by Valve on February 17, 2021. Featuring animation from Studio Mir and story by Ashley Edward Miller, the series premiering on Netflix March 25th.[1]

Release

Dota: Dragon's Blood debuted on March 25, 2021 on Netflix.[1] A teaser trailer was released on February 19,[8] followed by a full trailer on March 1.[9]

A promotional video, titled "Basshunter Dota Revival", was released on YouTube alongside the anime's debut on the streaming service on March 25.[10] In it, Swedish musician Basshunter is singing "DotA" while playing Dota 2 and scenes from Dragon's Blood are shown in between.[11]

Reception

The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported an 63% approval rating, based on 8 reviews, with an average rating of 6.3/10[12]
