  • Comment: To be honest, I find that discussion difficult to parse. I am unfamiliar with the justification to delete the original article (what is A7 and G8 and the other things mentioned?). But to answer generally: yes, it is different, because that article was presumably just a list? This article, OTOH, is comparable to Fox Searchlight or Focus Features. By the way, there is already a list of Black Sheep films here: List of films produced and released by Star Cinema#List of Black Sheep films but this article was created because I think a separate article is warranted. Black Sheep is notable enough on its own to have a separate article from Star Cinema, much less only have a list on its parent's list article. In fact, the much less notable other subsidiaries of ABS-CBN Films, Skylight Films and Cinema One, have their own articles when Black Sheep does not. Moreover, it doesn't really make sense to combine the films of the subsidiary and parent together in one list when the subsidiary was explicitly created to be different from the parent in character. This is proven by the practice exemplified in American film parent-subsidiary articles such as the aforementioned Fox Searchlight and Focus Features. Their list of films were never collapsed with their parent's list.

Black Sheep Productions (or simply Black Sheep) is a Philippine film studio that is a subsidiary of ABS-CBN Film Productions, a division of ABS-CBN Corporation.[1] Founded in 2018, the studio produces films that are situated in between independent films and mainstream films released by the major Philippine film studios.[2]

Black Sheep is best known for producing the films Exes Baggage (2018), Alone/Together (2019), Fan Girl (2020), and Kun Maupay Man It Panahon (2021).

History

Black Sheep was founded in 2018 to capitalize on the rising millennial market.[3] The brand positions itself in between ABS-CBN Film Productions's two other major brands, Star Cinema, which is more family-oriented, and Cinema One Originals, which is considered more arthouse.[4]
