Small club for older people to edit Wikipedia
I'm looking into the possiblity of setting up a small club in Luton for local people to come along and learn about editing Wikipedia.
Our target audience is older people without formal education and with lowish digital skills, we'd be running functionally like a student assignment with a set of articles about local topics to create/improve but a lot of the club time will be using Wikipedia as an execuse to teach a lot of other digital skills.
I might not be asking in the right place, but does anyone know of any other UK projects that took a similar approach of 'teaching other digital skills while also improving the Wiki'? Or indeed, does anyone know something they think I should know in general?

Project-independent quality assessments
Quality assessments by Wikipedia editors rate articles in terms of completeness, organization, prose quality, sourcing, etc. Most wikiprojects follow the general guidelines at Wikipedia:Content assessment, but some have specialized assessment guidelines. A recent Village pump proposal was approved and has been implemented to add a |class=
parameter to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, which can display a general quality assessment for an article, and to let project banner templates "inherit" this assessment.
No action is required if your wikiproject follows the standard assessment approach. Over time, quality assessments will be migrated up to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, and your project banner will automatically "inherit" any changes to the general assessments for the purpose of assigning categories.
However, if your project has decided to "opt out" and follow a non-standard quality assessment approach, all you have to do is modify your wikiproject banner template to pass {{WPBannerMeta}} a new |QUALITY_CRITERIA=custom
parameter. If this is done, changes to the general quality assessment will be ignored, and your project-level assessment will be displayed and used to create categories, as at present. Aymatth2 (talk) 22:10, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

Leadership approval opinion polling for the next United Kingdom general election
The page Leadership approval opinion polling for the next United Kingdom general election is out of date and missing a lot of content in multiple respects. Every section is at least months out of date. Nicola Sturgeon's polling on this page hasn't been updated since 2021 and there is nothing for the SNP's current leader Humza Yousaf. Some other sections, such as that of the Green Party of England and Wales' current leaders Carla Denyer and Adrian Ramsay haven’t had any information added at all since they became the party's co-leaders. Can someone please update this page and add missing information such as for that of the Greens etc? Helper201 (talk) 21:44, 17 April 2023 (UTC)

The SVG file for the Union Jack is wrong
Although the png image on the wikipedia page shows the correct Union Jack, when you click the link to download the svg file, the resulting file is completely incorrect. The red diagonals on three of the stripes are much too thick. Stevemulvey (talk) 09:37, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Stevemulvey: Presumably you mean File:Flag of the United Kingdom.svg. It looks fine to me. I don't think that the exact dimensions are laid down in law, except that the upper edges of the red diagonals in the hoist, and the lower edges of the red diagonals in the fly, coincide with imaginary lines drawn from corner to corner. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:18, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
- There are "approved" dimensions: https://www.college-of-arms.gov.uk/resources/union-flag-approved-designs
- I can't tell the difference between the SVG and the official PDF visually. PaulT2022 (talk) 01:05, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response Redrose64, I have re-downloaded the SVG file, and although it looks fine when previewing it with the default Mac app "Preview" - it definitely appears incorrect when you open the file in Adobe Illustrator.
- Very strange, I have never seen this happen before in my 35 years of creating digital artwork with Adobe. Stevemulvey (talk) 06:35, 7 May 2023 (UTC)

Privy Council
Is there a reason why privy council membership isnt indicated by adding PC after the name at the beginning of the article like with all the royal societies and other awards and orders? Especially for politicians its mostly buried somewhere in the article or not mentioned at all. Was there a previous discussion on this? --jonas (talk) 18:19, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

Prince Charles or Charles III??
On Wikipedia, when referring to Charles III before he became king, should he be referred to as Charles III or Prince Charles, because alot of articles still refer to him as "Prince Charles" and on today's featured article, I changed "Prince Charles" to "Charles III" but it got changed back. Citations needed on Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
The history section of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom is completely unsourced. I am pretty sure all that is needed is a transfer of references from History of the prime minister of the UK, but my modern history is crap, and I'm not comfortable doing it myself.
If anybody with a better grounding than me wants to give it a go, it would be great. I don't think we should have an unsourced section on such an important article. Boynamedsue (talk) 08:51, 28 May 2023 (UTC)

I just created this little article.
