Map

[edit]

A better map is needed. The map we have now is just an outline map of Germany with the interstate boundaries with finer lines than the line that shows the national boundary. The country is labeled and five cities (none of which are in Saxony-Anhalt) are also labeled. None of the States are labeled. I know that Saxony-Anhalt is one of the States that was carved out of East Germany during Reunification and I know which States are Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern,and Thuringia but I get Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt confused.

The map uses Wikidata to create an outline of Saxony-Anhalt, superimposed on the map of Germany. It uses this map: Map For some reason it wasn't working this morning, but now it seems OK again. Markussep Talk 06:44, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

[edit]

Removed "Problems" section inserted by 69.153.199.77 on July 10, 2006 which said:

The state is infamous for neo-nazi activities, including anti-semetism and anti-americanism. Recently it has been in the news for the public burning of The Diary of Anne Frank during a village festival.

as unsourced and disparaging. --IslandGyrl 01:36, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

From 10 November to 19 November 2006, this article included the following unsourced disparaging material inserted by 217.196.231.36:

Area now widely recognised as a hotbed of Neo-Facism with numerous neo-nazi incidients occuring in recent times. Jewish Memorial to the Holocaust Victims vandalised by Neo Nazis on 11th November 2006.

This material has been removed. --IslandGyrl 03:55, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Emblem of LSA added

[edit]

LSA (="Land Sachsen-Anhalt" = "Federal State Saxony-Anhalt") This Emblem is more often used and more popular / common to the people than the flag. (and by the way more beautiful) Maybe you saw it as sticker (label) at the back of some cars?

It is even imaged at the official banner with the golden-black flagg as background. If this isn't reason enough for being shown in the bordetabel, you might move it somewhere else in the article?

Kindly greetings, --Gwendolas 10:59, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Video Games

[edit]

Don't suppose it's worth mentioning that it's the site of the video game Front Mission 4, where a group of Russian covert ops levels Sachsen Air Force Base... 129.21.109.43 00:03, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

History: Saxony-Anhalt vs. Saxony

[edit]

The paragraphs 'Electoral Saxony' and 'Saxon Kings of Poland' seem to illustrate rather the history of Saxony than the one of Saxony-Anhalt. Maybe these paragraphs should be shifted to an article which describes the history of Saxony. Whereas Saxony-Anhalt has a tradition which is very much linked to Prussia and the duchy of Anhalt.----Zarbi1 (talk) 22:19, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Way too much Saxon history in here. The North was Prussian since the 30 Years´ War(Magdeburg area). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.57.46.251 (talk) 14:23, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

well, you could also say was Prussian from the beginning since the Prussian State was founded in 1703.--Zarbi1 (talk) 10:37, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Frühaufsteher

[edit]

Drove past road signs proclaiming this region to be the 'Land der Fruehaufsteher'. Why? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.254.147.84 (talk) 14:42, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you can read German, this explains it: Saxony-Anhalt PR campaign presentation. Apparently, the average inhabitant of Saxony-Anhalt gets up at 6:39 AM, which is the earliest in Germany. Markussep Talk 09:49, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Coordinate error

[edit]

{{geodata-check}}

The following coordinate fixes are needed for

You haven't said what you think is wrong with the coordinates in the article, and they appear to correctly indicate a location near the center of the state. If you still think that there is an error, you will need to provide a clear explanation of what it is. Deor (talk) 17:39, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated economic data needs an update

[edit]

The economic data is outdated at least since 6 years and there have been significant changes. The section should may be expanded with text translated from the corresponding article in German. Bildersindtoll (talk) 21:49, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
