What´s about the "Flyschzone"?

[edit]

Hi! I have to confess, that my lectures in geology date back several years ago, but somehow it appears to me, as if all articles (except Vienna Woods) about the Alps in :en do not mention the sandstone belt (called "Flyschzone[[1]]"), which runs along the Northern Margin of the Alps. In the map of the current this zone is included by the Northern Limestone Alps. This seems strange to me, as the bedrock of this sandstone belt totally differs from limestone and has a different genesis. Do you have any comments or suggestions on this? --Edmund Sackbauer (talk) 13:50, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
