Hitler[edit]

Do you think Hitler should be here? His artistic work doesn't seem notable to me. (No, WWII Is not art ;)) -- lucasbfr talk 03:46, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was thinking the same thing. He did a few paintings, but that doesn't make him an artist, I'll remove it. Everything Inane 05:31, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bohm Solomon[edit]

Herman Bohm is alphabetized under R and not under B.

Herman Ratzersdorfer, I believe, spelled his first name as Hermann. Hermann Ratzersdorfer's father was, I believe Salomon. It is incorrectly spelled in an article about Hermann Ratzersdorfer's work published in an ezine article by the ASCAS [Association of Small Collectors of Antique Silver] by Giorgio Busetto. I am coauthor of the article, I created the error. Someone might have used this article as a source. Jaynedye (talk) 14:41, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
To not merge painters with artists and architects; a split of the latter was floated, with some support. Klbrain (talk) 16:12, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I propose merging List of painters from Austria into List of Austrian artists and architects. List of Painters from Austria is a subset of List of Austrian artists and architects, and already contains many of the examples currently in this list.BilledMammal (talk) 01:49, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • The usual practice appears to be to have separate national lists for Painters and for Artists, although obviously there is often considerable overlap between the two. Therefore, for consistency, I would suggest splitting the Artists and Architects list into two and leaving the Painters list as is.14GTR (talk) 08:58, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, per 14GTR. For example, painters and architects are two different animals, and each occupy their own niche. Randy Kryn (talk) 10:42, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
